Recycled Cat Calendar 2 (Gift Envelope)

Hi, everybody!  I'm back to share another gift envelope I made using an old cat calendar.  As mentioned earlier, I like to save my old calendars to recycle the cute pages.  You will notice this envelope is shorter and wider than the previous one.  The envelopes can be made any size you want, depending on the calendar size.

After folding the calendar page into an envelope, I embellished it with some gold-glitter die-cuts (Lawn Fawn Scalloped Border, Prim Stitched Star Designed by Rex, Gina Marie Designs Bow, Recollections Butterfly Punches), along with a label and self-made sentiment (Microsoft Word).

In case you're interested in seeing the reverse side, here it is.  I embellished it with some gold glitter washi tape and a punched heart.

Recycled Cat Calendar (Gift Envelope)

Hello, everyone!  Today I have something different to share!  It's a gift envelope that I made for a crafty friend using an old cat calendar.  I save all of my old calendars and enjoy finding new ways to recycle the adorable pages.  I made three of these, each a bit different, so I'll share all three today in separate posts.

After folding the calendar page into an envelope, I embellished it with some cat-themed washi tape, a die-cut flower, heart label, and a self-made sentiment (Microsoft Word).

I'll share the reverse side as well.  I embellished with some more of the cat-themed washi tape and a punched glitter heart.  This was my first try so the folds aren't perfect, but that's okay.

Mr. Mouse with Coffee

Hello, everyone!  I'm right on time for ScrappyMo's Rudolph Day, which is celebrated on the 25th of each month to inspire us to make our Christmas cards ahead of time so we can avoid the rush in November/December.

My card features the sweet Mr. Mouse with Coffee by Gerda Steiner Designs.  I've had this digital image for a few years and he's a favourite!  While I can no longer find him in the shop, Gerda has other adorable coffee critters, and Tea-riffic Mouse would be a great substitute!  Gerda has a fun Egg Hunt going on, and she has provided the cute Easter Egg watermark you see on my card, so my inner child could not resist playing along!  Check here for all the details and join me!

I coloured Mr. Mouse with markers and fussy-cut so I could pop him up on foam tape.  My card design was inspired by Sweet Sketch Wednesday Sketch 225:

I die-cut the deer scene (magazine freebie) and layered it onto scraps of glitter cardstock in two shades of green.  The bow die is from Quality Toys, and the white background is embossed with Taylored Expressions Winter Flurry. I added three green snowflake sequins and some green gems according to the sketch.

I was also inspired by the following 7 challenges, for a total of 10:

Sweet Snow

Hello, everyone!  Just a quick post today as we're heading out shortly to do some errands.  The sun is shining and it looks like it's going to be a beautiful day!

My card today was inspired by a few challenges (see below), and one challenge is ending in a few hours so I have to hurry!  Cut it Up #247 is looking for Women's History so I chose my favourite time in history, which is the 1950-60s, and this gal is perfect!  I would love to go back and live in the '60s!  I was born in the '60s!  How about you... what's your favourite time in history?

This stamp is Penny Black Sweet Snow and it's a bigger stamp that nearly covers an A2 card front.  First I heat-embossed it in silver on a red panel and then die-cut with a stitched rectangle (Simon Says Stamp). I stamped again, just the woman, on white cardstock, coloured her with markers, fussy-cut, and adhered to the red panel, which I then layered onto a turquoise panel.  I added Star Dust Stickles on the woman's hat, pompoms, and cuffs.  Lastly I adhered a couple die-cut white snowflakes (Hero Arts Snowflake Confetti) and a punched snowflake.  In hindsight, I think I should have heat-embossed the red panel in white, so that's what I'll do next time.

I was also inspired by the following challenges:

Another Year Flew By

Hi, everyone!  This is my second post today so it's a quick one.  I made another birthday card!  If you missed my earlier post today, please scroll back, or click here.

This cute little mouse with his kite is from Imagine That Digistamp, which sadly is no longer in business.  I used the precoloured version and fussy-cut.  I stamped a sentiment from Newton's Nook Birthday Flutter and stencilled a sky background with Tumbled Glass Distress Ink using a cloud stencil.  The sky panel is die-cut with Kat Scrappiness Stitched Rope Nested Rectangle and then mounted on a blue panel.

I was inspired by the following 5 challenges:

I coloured the image with markers and fussy-cut so I could pop her up on foam tape.  I added a few accents with a white paint marker.  I made a little scene with a die-cut iron gate (unknown brand; friend mail) and grass border (Lawn Fawn).  The stamped sentiment is from Clearly Besotted, cut into a banner shape, and popped up on foam tape.  Lastly I adhered a tiny flower gem beside the bunny.

Hello, everyone!  Today I'm announcing the winners of my Growing in Unity week, so please scroll below to see if you won!  I had a lot of fun last week with my Unity Stamp Co. stamps so I made another card!  This one is a birthday card for a man.

This stamp came to me in a grab bag, but the full set is Unity Stamp - Going to be OWL-Right. I coloured the image with markers, die-cut with an oval (Kat Scrappiness Stitched Rope Nested Oval), and, leaving the metal die in place, inked around the edges with Vintage Photo Distress Ink.  I layered the oval with two more die-cut ovals of the same size.  The background is embossed woodgrain. I white-heat-embossed a sentiment from Unity Stamp - Ups and Downs Kitty on a brown scrap and finished the card with a number of punched leaves in green.

Merry Wishes Bear

Hello, everyone!  Today I'm sharing a card that was inspired by a number of challenges (see below).  My card features an adorable digital image from Gerda Steiner Designs called Bear Mug. This image is now available as a clear stamp called Warm Fuzzies.  I coloured the image with markers and added some accents with a white paint marker, fussy-cut, and popped up on foam tape.

Gerda is having a fun Egg Hunt and she has provided the cute Easter Egg watermark you see on my card, so of course I wanted to join in the fun!   Check here for all the details and join me!

Poppystamps is having a Pretty Papers Challenge PSC#90 so I chose glitter paper, which is from the Memory Box Delicate Pastel Glitter 6x6 Shimmering Cardstock Pad.  I used the following dies:  Poppystamps Crystal Snowflake Corner, Poppystamps Merry Ornament, and Poppystamps Stitched Landscapes.  I trimmed the ornament from the word Merry for this card.  The patterned paper is from Lawn Fawn Perfectly Plaid Fall, and I added some punched snowflakes (Recollections).  The Merry Wishes sentiment is self-made in Microsoft Word.

Here are the other 6 challenges that inspired me, for a total of 8:

ABC Christmas G for Glitter UE

Growing in Unity - Day 5 (Giveaway)

Hello, everybody!  Today is my fifth and final day as a "Growing in Unity Girl!"  What a fun week I've had!  Each day, I have been sharing a card made with my Unity Stamp Co. stamps.  If you missed any, they are here:  Day 1, Day 2, Day 3, and Day 4.  Now I present today's card:

I've had this adorable Unity Stamp - Warm Winter Comforts set for several years and it's a favourite!  I've made cards with this stamp in the past (see here and here), but it's been a while, so I couldn't end my week without pulling out this little cutie!  Plus, now I have another winter holiday card made ahead of time!

I coloured the image with markers and die-cut with a pierced square.  I cut the same size square in a coordinating colour for layering and embossed it with a snowflake pattern.  My background was made a while ago but I'm guessing I used Distress Inks, perhaps Abandoned Coral, Tumbled Glass, and Shaded Lilac and the ink-smooshing technique.  I stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set and embossed the inky panel with a snowflake pattern.  Lastly, I adhered three red snowflake sequins.

Growing in Unity - Day 4 (Giveaway)

Hi, everyone!  Today is my fourth day as a "Growing in Unity Girl"!  Each day this week, Monday to Friday, I have been sharing a card made with my Unity Stamp Co. stamps.  You can scroll back to see my previous cards if you like.  There's a giveaway, so please join me each day to see what I made!  Here's today's card:

I stamped the kitty from Unity Stamp - Nine Lives, fussy-cut, and coloured with markers.  I layered the kitty onto some scraps of a crumpled brown paper bag and a rescued inky background, and then onto an old book page.  The edges of the paper bag and book page have been inked with Vintage Photo Distress Ink.

The background was created with Distress Oxide Sprays (Mowed Lawn, Shabby Shutters) and some splattered black acrylic paint.  It was made for another card that turned into a disaster so I rescued it for this card.  It was too nice to waste, even if only scraps were remaining. I stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set on a white scrap, cut into a banner shape, added faux stitching with a black fineliner, and adhered.  Lastly I adhered three punched green polkadot butterflies, each with a black gem in the center.

I'm having a lot of fun this week with my Unity Stamp Co. stamps! Tomorrow is my final day as a Growing in Unity Girl so I hope you'll join me again!

Beaver Sending Smiles

For my Growing in Unity - Day 3 card and giveaway, please go here.

Hi, everyone!  I'm back with another card today!  I made a night-time forest scene featuring a  beaver, and I also included a little bunny, squirrel, and owl.  This card is going to my brother, who has a slight beaver problem near his property.

I stamped the beaver and wood pile from Your Next Stamp Autumn Animals, coloured them with markers, and fussy-cut. I die-cut a tree frame twice, once in kraft and the other in green. I cut off the leaves on the kraft tree and adhered it to the green one so the leaves showed through.

Using Your Next Stamp Forest Friends Die Set, I die-cut the evergreen trees in green, used a Fiskars wavy crimper to add texture, and then adhered them behind the tree frame.  I adhered the tree frame to a dark-brown woodgrain-embossed background and added a die-cut grass border at the bottom. I die-cut the bunny, squirrel, and owl from Your Next Stamp Forest Friends Die Set and adhered them to the tree or grass, along with the beaver and wood pile.  Lastly I white-heat-embossed a sentiment from Your Next Stamp Woodland Cuties on a dark-brown scrap and adhered with foam tape.

Growing in Unity - Day 3 (Giveaway)

Hello, everybody!  This is Day 3 as a "Growing in Unity Girl" and I am having fun!  Each day, Monday to Friday, I  will be sharing a card made with my Unity Stamp Co. stamps.  If you like, you can scroll back to see my previous cards.  There's a giveaway, so please join me each day to see what I made!  Here's today's card:

I adore anything and everything retro so it was love at first sight when I saw this Unity Stamp - Going Retro set.  First I created the colour-blocked background with some brightly coloured cardstock and then stamped the images in black.  You will notice I paper-pieced the dress and a flower on one of the hats. I also doodled some dots on the skirt with a black fineliner.  The sentiment is from the same set and it has been heat-embossed in white on a black scrap.  I doodled some white dots around the border with a paint marker and adhered a butterfly to the old-style TV.  To finish the card, I adhered some black gems to the butterfly and at the top left corner.  This was such a fun card to make!

I stamped the bunny from Unity Stamp - Hugs and Kisses Bunny in brown, added some colour to her ears, cheek, and flowers with a pink marker, and fussy-cut.  I heat-embossed the XOXO from the same stamp set in white on a black scrap and hand-cut a banner edge.  I stamped the love definition stamp in pink on a pink die-cut heart (this stamp came to me in a grab bag, but the full set is Unity Stamp - Love Is).  I die-cut another heart in kraft and embossed with a heart pattern.  My ombre-look background was created with Kitsch Flamingo Distress Oxide Spray and then I embossed it with a heart border.  I adhered all the elements, layering them in a collage style, and mounted the background on black cardstock.

Hello, everybody!  Woot, woot!  I've been holding back some exciting news, and today is the day I can share it!  I am thrilled to tell you that I am a "Growing in Unity Girl" this week!  I recently discovered Unity Stamp Co. and have fallen in love with their red rubber stamps!  I will be sharing five cards this week, one each day from Monday to Friday.  As if that's not exciting enough, there is also a giveaway!  Here's my card:

I stamped the trampoline kitty, flowers, and bow from Unity Stamp - Ups and Downs Kitty by Susan Weckesser, coloured the images with markers, and fussy-cut.  Being a Fit Kitty myself (wishful thinking LOL), I love this fit kitty stamp with her cute little skirt!  To illustrate her jumping, I used a black fineliner to doodle some movement marks between the kitty and the trampoline.

For the greeting, I stamped the speech bubble and sentiment from Unity Stamp - Nine Lives and then fussy-cut.  My background was created with Distress Oxide Sprays (Tumbled Glass, Broken China, Mowed Lawn) on Bristol Smooth cardstock.  I adhered all of the stamped elements and then doodled a border around the card with a black marker.  As a finishing touch, I adhered a number of pink gems to the flowers and the bow.

Hello Spring Bunny - Book Binding Fold

Hi, everyone!  Today's card features a cute bunny stamp (freebie!) from Gecko Galz.  They have a new Stamp Challenge, where the challenge is to colour the free image and make a card or project.  I do love bunnies!

I coloured the image with markers and then adhered three punched butterflies.  I also adhered a number of gems in black (on the butterflies) and yellow (on the flowers).  The cardstock is Stampin' Up Barely Banana, and I stamped a sentiment from Lawn Fawn.  To finish the card, I adhered another three black gems at the top left.

The style of my card is called Book Binding Fold and was inspired by Mrs. A's Butterfly Challenge 167, which is Spin the Butterfly Wheel with B for Book Binding Fold (see graphic below for other element choices).  The colours I chose are Banana and Bougainvillea; however, we're having a rainy day today and the lighting is very bad, so my SU Barely Banana cardstock looks more like buff than banana.  Maybe the yellow gems will pass for banana.

Here's a photo showing the Book Binding Fold from above.  The inside of my card is plain so I can write a detailed message to the recipient.

I was also inspired by the following 8 challenges, for a total of 10:

Sugar and Spice

Hi, everybody!  I'm back again today to share another holiday card!  I must craft and blog when I have the opportunity!  This card features one of the images from Beccy's Place - Christmas Cheers.  Before printing, I digitally added the cute gingerbread man from Beccy's Place Gingerbread so that he's peeking out from behind the bauble.  I coloured the image with markers and added some accents with a white paint pen.

I die-cut the image with a stitched oval and layered onto a green scalloped oval.  The green snowflake paper is a freebie from Free Pretty Things for You.  The sentiment is from Imagine That Digistamp, printed on red paper (sadly this company is no longer in business).  To finish the card, I adhered three punched red snowflakes (Recollections punch).

I would also like to join the following 8 challenges:
