Rudolph Day February

Hi, everyone!  It's Rudolph Day and I'm early for a change!  I am also joining the progressive challenge at Stampers Delights Fan Page on Facebook.  The February image is called Autumn Fox, but it also included a winter version with snowflakes instead of leaves, which is the one I chose.  This is a progressive challenge, so I received the image for free because I had joined the January challenge.  Anyone can join at any time, and it's free!

For my card, I decided to colour the image like a kitty instead of a fox, and now I have another winter holiday card made ahead of time!  I die-cut the image with Kat Scrappiness Stitched Rope Nested Oval and layered it with Spellbinders Big Scalloped Ovals in grey.  The patterned paper background is from Make and Create Magical Christmas, which I won a few months ago from Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas (thank you, Hazel!).  I added a die-cut bow (Poppystamps) stamped a sentiment (SugarPea Designs).  I finished the card by adhering a number of snowflake sequins.

My card design was inspired by the following sketch at Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2:

More Valentine Gingers

Hi, everybody!  Today I'm sharing another Valentine/love card featuring gingerbreads!  I think gingers work for any occasion, not just Christmas.

These cute stamps were a gift from a crafty friend (you know who you are - thank you, I love them!). The brand is Imaginisce.  I heat-embossed them in white on kraft cardstock and distressed the edges with Vintage Photo Distress Ink.  I added a little colour to the bow, buttons, and cheeks with markers, fussy-cut, and adhered with foam tape.  The sentiment is from Doodlebug and I heat-embossed it in white on a black scrap.  I adhered die-cut hearts and punched hearts and then doodled some hearts with my white paint marker on the left-hand edge. The patterned paper is MME.

Gingerbread Hugs and Kisses

Hello, everybody!  I'm a bit late sharing this Valentine/love card, but here it is.  I think gingerbreads are fun for any occasion, not just for Christmas!  For my card I used the adorable Digi Doodle Studios Jack's Ginger Cookie Baker.  He is so adorable - I just can't resist gingerbreads!  And he's baked some heart-shaped cookies for us!

I coloured the image with markers, added white accents with a paint pen, fussy-cut, and adhered with foam tape.  Another fun element of this card is the die-cut oven (Designed by Rex) on which I adhered tiny heart confetti and a die-cut red glitter heart at the top.

The background xoxo patterned paper is from MME, and I added a red glitter strip as well as a vertical heart border.  On the patterned paper I stamped a sentiment (Nicole Silhouette), and I stamped xo (Clearly Besotted) three times on the heart border.

I love all the sparkle on this card!  Here's an angled view to show more of the sparkle:

Butterfly and Flowers

Hello, everyone!  I mentioned earlier this month that UNIKO is celebrating its 10th birthday, and again I am joining the celebration with another card.  All of the stamps used are from UNIKO and are included in the description below.

To create the background I stamped the floral and leaf images from Pure Florals: Gerbera in red and then filled in the gaps by stamping the birds from Rustic Christmas, also in red. I adhered a die-cut red frame to add some interest. Next I stamped the butterfly from English Country Garden - Butterflies in blue on a blue scrap and adhered.  I heat-embossed a sentiment from Pure Florals: Gerbera in white on a black scrap and adhered.  To finish the card, I adhered a number of black gems to the butterfly and several blue gems on the background.  My card has been shared at Instagram with the tag #Uniko10 for UNIKO's Quest 6.

I am also joining Mrs. A's Butterfly Challenge 166, which is Spin the Butterfly Wheel with C.  I was inspired with the option to make a card using at least two of the colours on the wheel, plus a butterfly; my colours are Cornflower and Cardinal (see the inspiration graphic below).

Love Birds Happy Anniversary

Hi, everyone!  Today I'm sharing an anniversary card featuring two love birds in a tea cup.  I was inspired by Holley (Holley's Blog), who is celebrating 12 years seizure-free, and I can't think of a better reason to celebrate than the gift of good health!  As part of the celebration, Holley's Blog is having a challenge.  The requirement is to use a coffee- (or tea-) themed image from Sandra Caldwell (babycakesdnd on Etsy).  The only image I have that fits the bill is 292 My Cup of Tea, which I believe is retired as I no longer see it in her shop.  It's very cute so I hope she brings it back!

I coloured the image with markers and added accents with a white paint pen.  The image is die-cut with a pierced oval and is adhered with foam tape.  The patterned paper is Forever in Time Plumage.  I adhered a die-cut bow (Poppystamps Lovely Gift Bow) and stamped a sentiment from Hero Arts.  Lastly I adhered a number of flat-back gems as embellishments.

My card design was inspired by the following sketch at Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2:

Another Hummingbird Just for You

Hello, everyone!  I have another card to share!  UNIKO is celebrating its 10th birthday this month, and I am joining their celebration!  The challenge is to make a birthday card using UNIKO products only, and this is my third and final entry.  As mentioned yesterday, I have no birthday sentiment stamps from UNIKO so the next-best sentiment I found is "Just for You."  I often use this sentiment on birthday cards so I hope it qualifies.

I was inspired to CASE a card designed by UNIKO Brand Ambassador Hannelie.  Please scroll way down to see her beautiful card, which I like much better than my own!  For any new crafters reading this, the term CASE means "Copy And Share Everything."

For my card, I used the following UNIKO stamps:  hummingbird from Paradise Hummingbird, floral stamp from Hello Lovely, and sentiment from Pure Florals: Gerbera.

I heat-embossed the hummingbird in black, fussy-cut, and ink-blended with Candied Apple and Mowed Lawn Distress Oxides.  I stamped the floral image in black and added three red gemstones.  I ink-blended a scrap of cardstock with Candied Apple and then stamped the sentiment in black.  The hummingbird is adhered with foam tape.

Below is Hannelie's card that I CASEd, which can be found here. Thank you to Hannelie for the beautiful inspiration - I love her colour combo!

In addition to UNIKO's 10th Birthday Month Celebration Linky mentioned above, I would also like to join the following 9 challenges, for a total of 10:

Butterfly Just For You

Hello, everyone!  When I see a celebration, I love to join in!  This month is UNIKO's 10th birthday! The challenge is to make a birthday card using only UNIKO products, and this is my second entry.  As I mentioned in my previous blog post, I don't have any birthday sentiments from UNIKO so I am making due with my next-best sentiment of  "Just for You. " I think it's perfect for a birthday card, so I hope it qualifies.

For my card, I used the following UNIKO stamps:  floral stamp from Hello Lovely, butterfly from English Country Garden - Butterflies, and sentiment from Pure Florals: Gerbera.

For this technique I recommend using a stamping tool such as a MISTI.  I started by stamping the floral on a white card base but did not remove the stamp from the MISTI.  I rummaged through my scraps/snippets and found a number of strips of patterned paper that I had been saving for this style of card and then adhered them randomly.  Placing the card back in the MISTI, I stamped the floral again, this time over the strips.  It's my first time trying this technique - it was easy and I love how it turned out!  I saw it a while ago on Sasha Reade's YouTube video.

Back to my card, I stamped the butterfly on a blue scrap and fussy-cut.  I stamped and heat-embossed the sentiment in white on a black scrap which already had a torn edge.  As a finishing touch, I adhered two black sequins on the butterfly.  The sentiment and butterfly are popped up with foam tape.

In addition to UNIKO's 10th Birthday Month Celebration Linky mentioned above, I would also like to join the following 9 challenges, for a total of 10:

Hummingbird Just For You

Hello, everyone!  UNIKO is celebrating its 10th birthday this month, and I do love a party!  The challenge is to make a birthday card using only UNIKO products.  After checking my UNIKO stamps, I discovered I have no birthday sentiments (sad face).  I kept looking and found the next-best sentiment I have, "Just for You," which I think is perfect for a birthday card!

I was inspired to CASE (Copy And Share Everything) a card designed by UNIKO Owner and Designer Bev Brown.  Please scroll down to see her beautiful card, which I much prefer over my own!

For my card, I used the following UNIKO stamps:  Paradise Hummingbird and a sentiment from Pure Florals: Gerbera. I heat-embossed the hummingbird in black, fussy-cut, and ink-blended with Picked Raspberry and Lucky Clover Distress Oxides.  I stamped the floral image repeatedly with the same Distress Oxides and added a random design between the flowers using a Fantastix tool with Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide.  The sentiment is heat-embossed in white on a black scrap; I added a torn raspberry strip/scrap; and I adhered the hummingbird with foam tape.

Below is Bev's card that I CASEd, which can be found here. Thank you for inspiring me with your beautiful card, Bev!
