Snowman Catching Snowflakes

Hello again!  I'm back to share another card today as I won't be around much tomorrow.  It's another winter holiday card!  This cute snowman is QKR Stampede - Catching Snowflakes from Stamp On It.  Mine is the digital version, which I die-cut with a cross-stitched circle, layered on a lacey circle, and coloured with markers.  I also added details to his scarf with a white paint marker.  This snowman is very happy that it's snowing!

My card design was inspired by Cheerful Sketches September Challenge sketch:

The white panel is embossed with Darice Snowflake Background and I assembled patterned paper scraps according to the sketch.  The sentiment was self-made using Microsoft Word, and I finished the card by adhering three red snowflake sequins.  You can see the red colour of the sequins better in the photo below:

Retro Kitty Countdown 9

Hello, everybody!  This month is flying so quickly!  It's hard to believe that October starts on Saturday!  Where did September go?  Today I'm sharing another card in my series of retro Christmas countdown cards.  I explained what they are for on this post.  My goal is to finish 25 of them by the end of November, and I still have 11 to go.  Yikes!  I'll really have to buckle down in October and November if I'm going to get them finished!

This adorable image is the September freebie for the Gecko Galz Monthly Christmas Challenge.  For fun I decided to add a little fussy-cut white kitty (The Digital Chick) at the bottom right.  For some sparkle, I added Frosted Lace Stickles to the snowman's ear muffs and the girl's hat and cuffs.  The red snowflake-patterned paper is from Free Pretty Things for You.  The countdown number 9 is from Digital Scrapbook and I adhered a self-made sentiment (Microsoft Word).  To finish off the card I adhered some holly leaves and berry sequins.

Sending Snowflakes and Smiles

Hi, everyone!  Today I'm sharing another winter holiday card, and again I used some of the scraps on my desk for the background!

I stamped, coloured, and fussy-cut the snowman from Your Next Stamp Freezy the Snowman.  The background for this card came together easily because these scraps happened to be lying side by side on my desk and I thought they looked great together!  The two border dies are from Your Next Stamp (Ric Rac Border and Snowflake Border), and I stamped a sentiment (Your Next Stamp Frosty Friends) using Your Next Stamp Holly Berry Red ink.

Butterfly Thinking of You

Hello, everyone!  Thank you for your prayers and positive thoughts for Nova Scotia!  We are okay!  Some parts of Nova Scotia, as well as other provinces in Atlantic Canada, sustained significant damage, but we experienced only a small amount of damage to our property.  We feel very blessed.  We were without electricity for only 10 hours, and we lost our telephone and internet service for about 28 hours.  We are relieved it is over but continue praying for others who are still impacted by Hurricane Fiona.

Today I'm sharing my card for Mrs. A's Butterfly Challenge 173, which is Spin the Butterfly Wheel with W for Window Card.  This is a new card style for me, and it was fun!

I followed Mrs. A's instructions in her Window Card tutorial.  The colours I chose are Wheat, Watermelon, and Wild Blue Yonder, along with the theme of Wood.  The wooden butterfly was part of a prize I won in a previous challenge of Mrs. A's (thank you!).  I added a die-cut butterfly (free with magazine) behind the wooden butterfly.  The patterned paper is from MME Sky's the Limit, and I stamped a sentiment from Hero Arts.

Kitties, Hot Chocolate, and Gingerbread Mini Slimline

Hello, everyone!  Before I share my card, I would like to request your prayers for Nova Scotia.

We are in the path of Hurricane Fiona starting Friday afternoon and into Saturday.  To monitor the storm warning for our area, here is a link:

https://weather.gc.ca/warnings/report_e.html?ns3#1216066671400039137202209200508wo3x4xcwhx

All prayers and positive thoughts are appreciated. We may lose electricity and internet so I may not be around blogland over the weekend. When possible, I will post on my blog that we are okay.

In the meantime, I would like to share a fun card featuring stamps and dies from Your Next Stamp.  My card features three of my favourite crafty subjects:  kitties, hot chocolate, and gingerbread!  This is a mini slimline card measuring 6" x 3.5" and it's the first time I've made a card of this size.

I did a lot of colouring here, and it was fun!  I also used up a bunch of scraps!  I have a big pile of scraps on my desk and I pulled out bits and pieces to put together my card (scroll down for photo of scraps below).

I coloured the images with markers and then fussy-cut.  I knew I could make a little scene with my scraps. The blue patterned paper was already a good size but I had to trim the white scrap both lengthwise and width to fit this card size.

Scraps left over from previous cards

After I adhered the patterned paper and the white snowy landscape, I adhered the gingerbread house and kitties (the kitties are popped up on foam tape).  The cup held by the kitty on the right is plain so I adhered the leftover tiny gingerbread man.

Along the bottom edge of the card I adhered the sparkly red ricrac border and added the gingerbread man and holly to the left to fill in the empty space.  In the sky I adhered three punched white snowflakes and the candy, to which I adhered a tiny red punched heart.  Now that I look at the candy, it appears to be flying through the sky like a bird, oh well.  I'm so happy to use up some scraps, but I have lots more in the pile for the next card!

Happy Anniversary Fall Wreath

Hello, everybody!  Today I'm sharing an anniversary card for my brother and his wife.  I made a fall-themed card for their anniversary a few years ago and they really liked it so I decided to go with that theme again.

I created the wreath using Lawn Fawn Stitched Leaves and Small Stitched Leaves.  I die-cut the smaller leaves in sets of five colours and arranged them in a circle shape.  I stamped a sentiment from Simon Says Stamp Happy on a white panel and embossed with a wood-grain design.  To finish the card, I adhered a number of gems.

I would like to join the following 10 challenges:

May Your Holidays be Sweet

Hi, everyone!  Today I'm sharing a coffee-themed holiday card, and of course I had to include my favourite holiday icon, a gingerbread man!

The coffee go-cup and gingerbread man are both from Pattie's Creations.  The go-cup, called Pumpkin Latte Mug, is a freebie this month (I digitally removed the pumpkin so I could add my gingerbread man; I hope Pattie doesn't mind).  The gingerbread man has retired but there is a similar one called Ginger Bread Cookie.  By the way, I noticed Pattie is having a 30% sale, and the coupon code is BOOP789.  I'm not sure when the sale ends, so if you want something, don't delay!

I coloured the sweet gingerbread man and cup lid with markers, and I paper-pieced the go-cup with patterned paper (Striped Elephants on Etsy).  Behind the cup is a die-cut stitched circle and stitched scalloped circle (both from Gina Marie Designs).  I stamped a sentiment from Cardz TV, embossed the kraft cardstock with Die'sire Embossalicious Let it Snow, and adhered three punched snowflakes (Recollections).  For a festive touch, I adhered a sparkly red bow (Designed by Alason) to the cup.

My card sketch was inspired by Build Your Stash Holiday Cards FB Challenge 26:

Fleece Navidad

Hello, everybody!  Before I get started, I would like to welcome my newest follower - Wendy Jackson - thank you for joining me!  Today I am sharing a winter holiday card featuring stamps and dies from Newton's Nook.

Products used:
Stamps:  Newton's Nook Fleece Navidad
Dies:  Newton's Nook Ornament Shaker, Newton's Nook Pines and Holly (bow)
Embossing folder:  Die'sire Embossalicious Let it Snow
Patterned paper:  We R Memory Keepers
Embossing powder:  Ranger White

I stamped the lamb, coloured with markers, and fussy-cut.  I die-cut the shaker ornament but instead of making a shaker, I opted for a scene with the tiny trees from the die set.  On the ornament, I stamped the snowflake repeatedly around the orange frame and adhered a black bow to the cap.  For the sentiment, I stamped and white heat-embossed it on a black scrap and adhered one of the tiny trees.  The cream cardstock was embossed with a snowflake pattern.

My colour choices of Orange, Green, Black, and Cream were inspired by Newton's Nook Inky Paws Challenge 182

A Hot Chocolate Kind of Day

Hello, everyone!  Today I'm sharing a winter holiday card!  This adorable kitty is Reece Burmese Christmas Kitty from Digi Doodle Studios.  I coloured the image with markers, die-cut with a pinpoint square (Memory Box), and inked around the edge of the image with Tumbled Glass Distress Ink.  I also added Diamond Stickles to the fur trim of the hat.

I used patterned paper (Doodlebug Polar Pals), die-cut with a stitched rectangle (Gina Marie Designs) and pinpoint square (Memory Box Pinpoint Square Layers), as well as a ricrac die-cut (Your Next Stamp Ric Rac), and snowflake die-cut (Lawn Fawn Stitched Snowflakes) according to the sketch below.  To finish the card, I stamped a sentiment (Newton's Nook Cup of Cocoa) and adhered a few purple gems.

Here's the sketch from The Outlawz Wednesday Sketch Challenge that inspired my card design:

You're FARM-tastic

Hi, everybody!  Before I get started, I would like to welcome my newest follower - Sladjana Perisic - thank you for joining me!  If  you could please leave a comment with a link to your blog, I would be happy to hop over and follow you too!

Today I'm sharing a farm-themed card, and I did some old-school stamping!  I dusted off some of my old wood-mounted stamps that I purchased at Michaels when I first started stamping, way back in the 2000s. Back when my nieces and nephew were young, I used to take these stamps with me so we could stamp together.  I've been cleaning out some old craft supplies, but I can't seem to part with these!  Lots of great memories!  This card was fun to make!

The brand of these wood-mounted stamps is Studio G, and I stamped the animals on punched squares in pastel colours and then added some faux stitching with a black fineliner.  I stamped the sun and barn on a white panel and them embossed with Sizzix Honeycomb, which reminded me of chicken wire.  The sentiment is self-made (Microsoft Word).  I think this card has a juvenile look, but I'm okay with that!

Anchor Thinking of You

Hi, everyone!  I mentioned the other day that my Mom had requested some thinking-of-you cards to have on hand when needed, and here's another one.  She liked the nautical theme for a man.

The anchor image is part of the Smooth Seas set from Beccy's Place.  I used the pre-coloured version, fussy-cut, and adhered it to cream vellum.  The nautical paper was a scrap, not sure of the maker.  I stamped a sentiment, fussy-cut, and adhered with foam tape.  Lastly I adhered black gems at the four corners of the vellum.  It's a great way to hide the glue!

Feathered Nest Thinking of You

Hi, everybody!  My Mom recently requested some thinking-of-you cards for her stash and here's one of the cards I made.

The image is Feathered Nest from Beccy's Place.  I used the pre-coloured version and fussy-cut two of the images from the set.  The script behind the image was a leftover from my scrap box.  The green cardstock is embossed with Cuttlebug D'vine Swirls, and I stamped a sentiment (Kennedy Grace) at the bottom right.  I finished the card by adhering three black gems.

Anniversary Butterflies - Faux Stepper Card

Hello, everyone!  I hope your September is going well so far.  Today I'm sharing an anniversary card.  I was inspired by Mrs. A's Butterfly Challenge #172 - Spin the Butterfly Wheel with F for Faux Stepper Card.  I followed Mrs. A's instructions on the Faux Stepper Card, which can be found here.  Any type of fancy fold is a challenge for me so I'm quite pleased that I tried it and I'm happy with the outcome.

As per Mrs. A's inspiration charts shown below, I also chose F for the colours Fandango, Flirt, and Forest Green, along with the theme of Faux Stitching, plus my butterflies. The faux stitching is on the leaves and the butterflies.

I used stitched dies from Poppystamps (Hampstead Stem) and Your Next Stamp (Stitched Butterfly) with cardstock scraps.  The patterned paper is from Create with TLC Vintage Facebook Group, which was a freebie awhile back (thank you, Paulette).  The sentiment stamp is from Hero Arts Everyday Sayings.  To finish the card I added some gems to the butterfly centers.

I would also like to join the following 9 challenges, for a total of 10:
