TMS 548 - Tuesday Morning Sketches

Hi, everyone! We have a new sketch for you this week at Tuesday Morning Sketches!  I hope you'll be inspired to join us!  I made a kitty card with a shaker element and lots of pink!

I stamped and coloured the kitty with markers and then fussy-cut so I could pop him up on foam tape.  I hand-cut two banners from patterned paper and inked the edges. I die-cut a rectangle from pink cardstock and then die-cut a circle so I could create a shaker.  I stamped a sentiment. embossed the pink panel, and then added the shaker element.  I die-cut more circles, some from patterned paper, and I inked the edges of everything on this card!

Stamps:  Your Next Stamp Cutie Patooties (retired), Your Next Stamp Cool Cats
Ink:  Victorian Velvet Distress Ink, Gina K Designs Amalgam

Have a Cherry Day

Hello, everyone!  Today I'm sharing a fun baking-themed card featuring cherry pie! Can you see the little mouse?

The Pie image is a freebie this month at Beccy's Place (thank you, Beccy!).  I opted for the precoloured image and added Glossy Accents to the red areas of the pie.  Other images and papers are from Crafty Secrets (no longer in business).  I fussy-cut the Beccy's Place image as well as the cute little mouse and popped them up on foam tape.  I added more Glossy Accents to the cherries in the bowl.  The punny sentiment is from Doodle Pantry (no longer in business). I also stamped the word "sweet" on the file tab and "yum" near the pie.

I would like to support the following challenges: Beccy's Place March UE; Cardz TV 111 AG 2/3; Crafty Hazelnut's Patterned Paper March UE; Creative Knockouts AG 2/2 C10; DL.ART March AG UE 1/d; Double Trouble 53 SomeThing, AnyThing, EveryThing Thing1 AG 1/4; Southern Girls AG 1/2; The Outlawz Festive Friday AG (Encouragement) UE

Now for something totally different!  Double Trouble is having a fun challenge to celebrate "National Goof Off Day" and "National Chip and Dip Day."  Their challenge is Chip Shapes (I went with Thing1 and Thing2).  Please head over to read all the details of their challenge and see their inspirational projects!  I must confess that these are not my creations, but my hubby Brian was inspired to create these chip-shape projects at my request. He told me that each chip shape was "as is" and he did not modify the chips, just placed them together to create the projects.

Thank you for looking at my card, and I hope Brian's chip projects made you smile! Wishing you a joyful day!

I don't have a Square to Spare

Hello, everybody!  I'm back with a fun card to make you smile!  Back in the day, I was a big Seinfeld fan (still am!) and I remember fondly the bathroom-stall scene where Elaine is told, "I don't have a square to spare."  Were you a Seinfeld fan?  Do you remember the show?   I hope my card will brighten your day!

This kitty is hoarding toilet paper like so many people in the world and will not spare a square!  If you'd like to see what my kitty does with toilet paper, scroll way down for photos.

First I made the background by repeatedly stamping the butterflies in pastel colours.  Next I coloured the kitty with markers and fussy-cut so I could pop him up on foam tape.  I created the sentiment in Word and die-cut with a speech bubble.  Lastly I adhered a die-cut scalloped frame.

Stamps:  Newton's Nook - Naughty Newton, Newton's Nook - Beautiful Wings, butterfly from Newton's Nook - Newton's Day Dream, tiny snowflake from Newton's Nook - Newton's Curious Christmas
Ink:  Ranger Archival Sky Blue and Pink Peony, Simon Says Stamp Duckling, Memento Lulu Lavender, Gina K Designs Amalgam
Dies:  Lawn Fawn Speech Bubble Border, Gina Marie Designs Scalloped Stitched Frame

I was inspired by the colour challenge at Newton's Nook Inky Paws 119 (pastel pink, pale yellow, baby blue, light lavender):

My cat Honeydew loves toilet paper too, but he doesn't hoard it.  He just has fun with it. He was very proud of himself in these photos.

Guest Designer at Stick It Down

Hello, everyone!  Today I'm Guest Designing at Stick it Down for their March Card Sketch!  There is still time if you'd like to join the challenge!  I enjoy sketches - they are a great way to get your crafty mojo going!  This sketch inspired me to make a winter holiday card!  I make my cards all year long as it helps take the pressure off in November/December, especially since I enjoy contributing to holiday card drives.

This adorable image is Bugaboo Stamps - Boy Gingerbread Candy Cane 4.  I coloured him with markers, added Star Dust Stickles to his icing, and fussy-cut so I could pop him up on foam tape. The patterned paper is from Crate Paper, and I layered it on green and then red cardstock.  Behind the gingerbread boy, I stamped some flourishes (Inkadinkado).  I stamped a sentiment (Your Next Stamp) on a kraft scrap and adhered.  Lastly I embellished with red and green gems.

Here's the March card sketch at Stick it Down, designed by Leslie Turner.  I hope you'll be inspired to play along in our challenge!

Thank you to Ashley at Stick it Down for inviting me to be Card Sketch Guest Designer this month - I had fun!

Purple Day for Epilepsy Awareness (Blog Hop)

Hello, everyone! Today I'm joining my friend Fikreta in a blog hop for Purple Day in support of epilepsy awareness. Each participant in the hop has made a card featuring purple.  I hope you'll hop around and see what everyone has made!

                                           No photo description available.

Our blog hop runs from March 26 to 31, and there are giveaways to be won! Thank you to our generous sponsors, Digi Doodle Studios and Kinda Cute by Patricia Alvarez, who are each giving away one digital image of the winner's choice.  In addition, Ike from Ike's Art and Annabel from Knitty Kitty Digis both have giveaways as part of their stops along the hop, including one from Dr. Digi's House of Stamps!  To be entered to win, please comment on each stop of the hop and tell us what you learned about epilsepsy.  I would be so happy if you became a follower but it is not necessary to win a prize.

Here's the card I made for Purple Day:

The adorable image is Digi Doodles Studios - Gracie & Nibbles. I coloured it with markers and fussy-cut so I could pop it up on foam tape. The background paper is from Fred She Said, and I stamped a sentiment from Newton's Nook.  I added a die-cut shape and some lace behind the image and then finished the card with two punched butterflies and some purple gems.

My card design was inspired by Sketch 3 at Crafting Vicky:

Please take a moment and read:

Purple Day
Purple Day is a global grassroots event formed with the intention to increase worldwide awareness of epilepsy, and to dispel common myths and fears of this neurological disorder.  Further intentions of this movement are to reduce the social stigmas commonly endured by many individuals afflicted with the condition; to provide assurance and advocacy to those living with epilepsy that they are not alone in their ongoing endurance; and to initiate individuals living with the condition to take action in their communities to achieve these aims.  The day occurs annually on March 26. You can read more about epilepsy here.

You are Amazing

Hello, everyone!  Today I've been inspired by the International Women's Day Blog Hop to celebrate and empower women!  I would like to dedicate this card to all of my female crafty blog friends because "You are Amazing!"  Thank you for your support, encouragement, and inspiration!  I appreciate you!

I stamped the young woman, coloured her with markers, and fussy-cut so I could pop her up on foam tape. I made the background with several scraps of patterned paper by tearing the edges. I like this distressed look.  I adhered two bloomdala flower die-cuts, along with a fun coffee break circle sentiment, which I die-cut with a circle die.  I printed the coffee cup image small enough to fit on the sentiment circle, coloured it with markers, fussy-cut, and adhered.  I finished the card with a stamped sentiment in black and a number of red gems.

Joy to the World

Hello, everyone!  I'm back again today with another card!

For my Tuesday Morning Sketches DT post, please click here.

This card features an adorable penguin freebie designed by Sandra for The Outlawz 9th Birthday Celebration Colouring Challenge (thank you!).  I went with a winter holiday card.  My goal is to make two cards a month and this is my second, but I hope to make more before the end of the month!

Before printing the free digi, I added alphas to the balloons to spell the word "joy" (Pixel Scrapper).  I coloured the image with markers, added Glossy Accents to his eyes, beak, feet, and balloons.  I adhered him to a die-cut stitched vellum rectangle (Gina Marie Designs) along with a punched bow.

I created a stencilled background by applying Mowed Lawn Distress Oxide through a Snowfall stencil (Hot off the Press).  I added a die-cut snowy landscape (Poppystamps Stitched Landscapes) and adhered the penguin rectangle.  Lastly, I stamped a sentiment (STAMPlorations Joy) to coordinate with the joy word on the balloons.

My card design was inspired by Sketch Saturday Week 601:

TMS 546 - Tuesday Morning Sketches

Hello, everybody!  We have a new sketch for you this week at Tuesday Morning Sketches!  I hope you will be inspired to join our challenge!  I made a nature-inspired birthday card intended for a man.

I stamped the deer (STAMPlorations Woodland Friends), coloured it with markers, and fussy-cut so I could pop it up on foam tape.  Behind the deer, I used a number of dies to make a little nature scene on ivory vellum (Artist's Vision) using patterned paper (my old stash).  Dies used were STAMPlorations Stitched Spring Landscape, STAMPlorations Stitched Winter Landscape, and Gina Marie Designs Stitched Rectangles.  I stamped a sentiment (Your Next Stamp Autumn Animals) on the vellum in StazOn Timber Brown.

I created the tree background on kraft cardstock by inking Mowed Lawn Distress Oxide through Simon Says Stamp Mod Trees Stencil.  I adhered the stencilled panel to a striped patterned paper (my old stash), adhered the vellum panel onto the kraft, and added a strip of glitter washi tape, along with a sentiment from TLC Creations, punched with a circle punch (Recollections) and popped up on foam tape.

Here's our Sketch 546, designed by Debbie. I'm looking forward to seeing what you make!
