Triple Point Butterfly Card

Hello, everyone!  I am planning to make more butterfly cards this year so I'm relying on Mrs. A's Butterfly Challenge for inspiration.  Challenge 165 is T for Triple-Point Card, colours of Tan, Tickle Me Pink, Tea Green, and Thistle, and a theme of Thank You, plus a butterfly, of course.  Woot, woot - I did them all!

Mrs. A's instructions for the Triple Point Card can be found here.  As mentioned in previous blog posts, I am a bit challenged when it comes to fun folds or special cuts and I tend to make them more difficult than they need to be.  For this one I decided to make an A2-sized card instead of the square card in the instructions, but it worked out in the end.  I probably won't make this style again but it was fun to try something different.  All of the patterned paper and cardstock was in my scraps pile and I used some dies from my stash.  I have since put my supplies away but if memory serves, the butterfly was BoBunny and the sentiment stamp is Hero Arts.

I was also inspired by the following 9 challenges, for a total of 10:

Sweet Coffee Mouse Christmas

Hi, everybody!  Today I'm sharing a holiday card featuring a cute coffee mouse from Gerda Steiner Designs.  I coloured the image with markers and then fussy-cut so I could pop him up on foam tape.  I adhered a torn scrap of white cardstock below him to simulate snow, and I adhered a tiny die-cut snowflake to his cup.

The embossing folder is Die'sire Embossalicious Let it Snow, and I used a Recollections snowflake punch.  The die-cut snowflake borders are from Your Next Stamp.  The stitched squares were leftovers from my quilt-inspired cards here and here.  The sentiment heart is a digital from LOTV, which I fussy-cut, and then added a Baker's twine bow.

My card design was inspired by Sketch Saturday 692:

Holiday Hello Penguin

Hello, everyone!  Before I get started, I would like to welcome my newest follower - Ayla Oso - thank you for joining me!  If you could please include a link to your blog in the comments below, I will hop over and follow you too!

Today I'm sharing a holiday card in my favourite colour - pink!  The cute penquin, cup, and bow are a pre-coloured digital from Peachy Keen Stamps.  I added clear Spectrum Noir Sparkle to the penquin's bow and then fussy-cut all of the images; with the penguin being adhered with foam tape.

The embossing folder is Simon Says Stamp Filigree Snowflakes and I used a Recollections snowflake punch on a scrap of white cardstock.  The stitched pink squares and strips were leftovers (scraps/ snippets) from my quilt-inspired cards here and here.  I added some scraps of patterned paper and stamped a sentiment from Your Next Stamp.

Kawaii Meow / Progressive Challenge Freebie

Hello, everyone!  This month I am joining a new-to-me progressive challenge.  It's the Stampers Delights Fan Page on Facebook, and the January image is called Kawaii Meow.  It's so cute and I could not resist!  I am planning to play along each month - the challenge is free to start so why not join along with me!

A special thank you to Margaret and Wendy for helping me get started, and thank you to Stampers Delights for the adorable images!

I coloured the images and sentiment with markers and added some white puff paint in the dish to represent the cream.  My card was inspired by our white cat Snowie, may she RIP.  She loved cream, and she was truly the purr-fect friend!  We miss her dearly; you can see her photo on the right-hand sidebar.

I die-cut the image with a Kat Scrappiness Stitched Rope Nested Rectangle and mounted on navy cardstock.  The patterned paper is BoBunny Bold and Bright Double Dot Designs.  I die-cut the La-La Land Crafts Heart Banner twice, once from patterned paper and again from sparkly blue cardstock for the hearts.  I will save the sparkly blue banner for a future card!

Here's the Stampers Delights Kawaii Meow set:

Peeking Gingerbread Kids

Hello, everyone, and Happy New Year!  Before I get started, I would like to welcome my newest follower - Wendy Batchen - thank you for joining me!

Today I'm sharing a gingerbread card!  I love making them so much and it seems I did not get enough of them in December!  Gingerbreads make me happy, perhaps a fun memory from my childhood!  For this card I used the adorable Peeking Gingerbread Kids from Digi Doodle Studios.  I coloured these cuties with markers, added accents with a white paint marker, and fussy-cut so I could pop them up on foam tape.  The stamped sentiment is from Your Next Stamp Christmas Cookie.

I continue to tackle my pile of patterned paper scraps/snippets and today I have used lots of them, along with some glitter scraps.  I also used a scrap of coffee-themed paper (Your Next Stamp Crazy for Coffee) and a leftover Ric Rac Border die-cut (Your Next Stamp) that went unused from last month.  The snowflake embossed white panel was also a leftover from December (Taylored Expressions Winter Flurry).  I finished the card by adhering three red snowflake sequins.
