Retro Picnic 3

Hello, it's me again!  I'm back to share one final card for today.  I was inspired by the picnic theme and didn't want to stop!  This card features a duck picnic with a kitty spectator and is the third of my three cards.  Feel free to scroll back for the previous two.  I will be spending some time today and tomorrow getting caught up on visiting your blogs, so I will see you there soon!

On this card, I used a sweet retro picnic scene and check-box graphic from KB and Friends on Etsy.  The fussy-cut kitty is from The Digital Chick, and the patterned paper is from Striped Elephants, both on Etsy.  I adhered three punched blue flowers along with tiny punched black flowers for the flower centers, and then added a self-made Meow (Microsoft Word) with the kitty to finish the card.  My picnic cards were a lot of fun to make!

Retro Picnic 2

Hello again!  I'm back to share another cheerful picnic scene card.  This is my second of three cards and this one features kids, animals, and a teddy bear.  Stay tuned for one more picnic card!

Here I used another adorable retro-style storybook image from my stash, and I digitally inserted a kitty (The Digital Chick on Etsy) into the scene.  The grass is a die-cut from My Favorite Things, embossed with Cuttlebug Swiss Dots, and I adhered a die-cut sun (Joy Craft).  The background paper is from Striped Elephants on Etsy.  I adhered several punched red flowers and a self-made sentiment (Microsoft Word) to finish the card.

Retro Picnic 1

Hello, everyone!  I'm still falling behind in visiting your blogs and will be around to see you soon!  In the meantime, today I will be sharing three retro picnic-themed cards.  This is the first one, which features a cute bear, kitty, and bunny.

I adore these cute old-fashioned storybook images and have been collecting them for awhile. Some were purchased from Etsy (The Digital Chick) and some images/papers were freebies over the years (Graphics Fairy, Pixel Scrapper, Coffee Shop, Kaitlynn Sheaffer).  I fussy-cut and adhered the images to create a cute picnic scene, which also included two die-cuts (Lawn Fawn sun, unknown grass) and a punched butterfly (Recollections).  The sentiment was self-made in Microsoft Word.

Wishing You a Joyous Holiday - Trees

Hello, everybody!  I will be around to visit your blogs soon - between now and the weekend!  In the meantime, I have another holiday card to share!  I was inspired by my own set of cards that I made in June here.

This is an older digital image from my stash called Winter Tree from Gingerloft (no longer in business), and it was a leftover from my June guest designer month. I had already printed it in green, but it didn't get used. I had already digitally added a holiday sentiment beneath the image (Beccy's Place Christmas Blooms).  The image with sentiment was already cut to size in June, with corners rounded, glittered up, and ready to use, so this card came together quickly!

I chose a different embossed background than I used in June and went with a landscape orientation this time. The previous cards were portrait.  The embossing folder (Simon Says Stamp Forest Border) is new, and this is the first time I've used it.  To create a snowbank that coordinates with the tree image, I tore a scrap of white cardstock and adhered.  The tree/sentiment panel is popped up with foam tape, and I adhered three green snowflake sequins to finish off the card.

Retro Kitty Countdown 15

Hi, everyone!  It's been a while but I'm still here!  No worries - I've been enjoying the summer season and haven't been online or crafting much. It's just too hot in my craftroom!  However, this morning is a bit cooler and, in any event, there are challenges calling my name!

If you've been following my blog for a while, you might remember that last year I had a goal of making a set of 25 "Retro Kitty Christmas Countdown" cards.  You might also remember that I did not reach my goal (sad face) and only made 11 of the 25.  Well... I'm going to try again!  Maybe this year I will finish them!

For those not familiar with countdown cards, they are similar to an advent calendar, but in the form of a Christmas card.  The recipient gets to open a card each day of December as they count down the days to Christmas, and accompanying each card will be a small gift.  For reference, here are the previous countdown cards that I shared:
23456810121618, and 24.

For today's card I used a bunch of my patterned paper scraps (also called snippets) and did some paper tearing and gluing to create the background.  I stamped around the border with a stitching pattern (Kelly Panacci) and stamped a tiny snowflake (Newton's Nook) on the upper left and bottom right corner.  The numbered countdown card (Design by Dani) and retro kitty (Past Paper Pretties) were mounted on coordinating cardstock (from my scrap container) and adhered.  I adhered a self-made sentiment (Microsoft Word) along with a scrap saying December and then finished off the card with some snowflake sequins.
