Retro Skating Kitty - Be Merry

It's me again!  As promised, I'm back with my second festive kitty card!  The one also features an adorable retro digital clipart from TheDigitalChick on Etsy. 

I digitally added the sweet kitty image to a background paper (The Paper Shelter), printed two copies, and then fussy-cut the kitty so I could pop him up on foam tape. The sentiment is also a digital (AC Digitals). The patterned paper is from MME Winter Wonderland and I added some fun skating die-cuts.  I finished off the card with a few green snowflake sequins.

Retro Skating Kitty - Merry and Bright

Hello, everyone!  I have two festive kitty cards to share today!  I'll be back shortly with my second card! 

This one features an adorable retro digital clipart from TheDigitalChick on Etsy.  This sweet image reminds me of an old children's book. 

I digitally added the kitty image to a background paper (The Paper Shelter), printed two copies, and then fussy-cut the kitty so I could pop her up on foam tape. The sentiment is also a digital (Digi Stamp Boutique, sadly no longer in business), also popped up on foam tape. The patterned paper is from MME Winter Wonderland, crinkle ribbon from DL.ART, and I embellished with a metal snowflake charm and a few red snowflake sequins.

My first Never-Ending Card

Hello, everyone!  I did it!  I made my first Never-Ending Card!  A big thank-you to Mrs. A and her Butterfly Challenge for the tutorial and her Challenge 130, which is Spin the Butterfly Wheel with N for Never-Ending Card! 

I made an anniversary card, and here are all the photos of the various views of the card.  I wish the gold mirror-card would photograph better because it looks so beautiful in person.  While the card design is not difficult, this took me ages to make!  I am not good with fancy folds - I find them intimidating - but maybe that means I need to make them more often!

A gazillion die-cuts and punches were used to make this card, too numerous to mention.  The patterned paper is DCWV Scripts and Music Notes.

One Final Cat Lovers Hop Project

It's me again!  I have one final project for the 2019 Cat Lovers Hop!  After this I want to continue visiting all of the adorable link-ups at the hop!  Time is ticking!

I made this cat-themed envelope several months ago but haven't shared it here until now.  I made the envelope myself with 12x12" cardstock and stamped the cats and sentiment in Lucky Clover Distress Oxide.

Here's the other side. I did some more stamping and recycled an image from an old cat calendar.

Sailing Kitty

Hello again! I'm back with another card for the 2019 Cat Lovers Hop!  It's the last day so I want to make the most of it!

I made this card several months ago and sent it to a crafty cat-loving friend.  I just remembered that I hadn't shared it on my blog, so here it is!

 

The stamp is Magenta Sailing Cat, an older wood-mounted rubber stamp.  I heat-embossed the image in two or three different embossing powders (The Artful Stamper), used a corner punch (Stampin' Up), and embellished with clear gems.

2019 Cat Lovers Hop - Day 6

Hi, everybody! Today is Day 6 of the 2019 Cat Lovers Hop, and sadly it is the final day.  All good things must come to an end, but I had a lot of fun and got inspired to make plenty of kitty cards!   I would like to say THANK YOU to the wonderful Janis at Her Peaceful Garden for hosting this annual event!  I enjoyed all the feline inspiration and getting to know other crafty cat lovers and their kitties!  I'm already looking forward to next year's hop!

Today I dusted off another one of my old wood-mounted rubber stamps: Stampendous Fluffles the Cat - F145 Snowboard Fluffles.  I also tried a new-to-me card style - I used a Stephanie Barnard Sizzix Framelits Stand-ups die set for the first time.  I won this a while back and I don't know why I waited so long to try it because it was easy!  

I coloured the image with my markers and added Diamond Stickles to his pompom and snowflakes.  I die-cut the image with Nellie's Multi-frame Circles (the Stand-ups die set came with a circle die but I wanted a larger circle and a layer).  The sentiment is from Lawn Fawn Snow Day.  The gorgeous papers are digitals called Woodland Christmas that I won from We Are 3 Digital Shop (thank you!).  I embellished the card with some die-cut snowflakes (various brands; leftovers from last year), punched snowflakes (Recollections punch), and clear gems.  Below are some more photos; the final one shows the card when closed.  I'll definitely be using this die set again - I love how my card turned out!

Let it Snow - Window Kitty

Hi, everyone!  I'm back again today with another card for the 2019 Cat Lovers Hop! I just realized it's Rudolph Day and I definitely want to join in!

For this card I inked up my Repeat Impressions Winter Wonderland 2001-M Peaceful Observation and coloured it with markers. I wanted the kitty to look like our Snowie (see right-hand sidebar for photo)! Her colours are white and pink! In this card, she's not waiting for Santa - she's waiting for Brian! He could be outside shovelling on this snowy day in winter, and she loves to watch him out the window! Brian is definitely her person!

For the sky, I sponged Spun Sugar Distress Oxide and then used a white paint pen on the snowflakes.  I fussy-cut the image and mounted it on foam tape.  The white panel is dry-embossed with Darice Snowflake Background, and I added two die-cut snowflakes (Lawn Fawn Stitched Snowflakes) behind the window. To finish it off, I stamped a sentiment (Poppystamps You Melt My Heart) and added three pink sequins.

2019 Cat Lovers Hop - Day 5

Hello, everyone!  How can it be Day 5 already?!  I'm talking about the 2019 Cat Lovers Hop, hosted by the lovely Janis at Her Peaceful Garden. Time flies when you're having fun!  Have you had a chance to check out the hop yet?  There's only one more day left!  Festivities end tomorrow, so I hope you'll check it out before it's too late!

Although the hop has been loads of fun, today I read the sad news about the recent passing of Newton of Newton's Nook fame, as well as his snuggle-buddy Hobbes, who crossed the rainbow bridge in August.  My heartfelt sympathies go out to Jen and Jeff of Newton's Nook on their loss of these two amazing kitties that I've grown to love over the years.  

In honour of Newton and Hobbes, I've inked up my Newton's Nook Sweater Weather again.  I coloured the sweater kitty and mittens with my markers and fussy-cut.  The purple sky was made awhile ago and I believe it was with watercolour and Distress Ink sprays.  I white-heat-embossed all the snowflakes in the stamp set, as well as two from another set, Newton's Nook Fox Hollow.  I made a little winter scene using Memory Box Warm Wishes Border. This die contains the dot over the "i" (tittle) but I couldn't find it and thought it looked fine without it.  I finished off the card by adding a few purple sequins.

Kitty Sending Warm Thoughts

Hello again! I'm back with another card for the 2019 Cat Lovers Hop!  I just can't help myself! I love cats!

I went with a holiday card this time featuring Newton's Nook Sweater Weather!  Newton's Nook has sponsored the Cat Lovers Hop every year for the five years of the hop - thank you!

I started by colouring the adorable sweater kitty and mittens with my markers (Bic Mark-its and Dollarama Crafts) and then fussy-cutting.  Next I created the inky background with Distress Oxides on photo paper.  I layered several blues using the watercolour ink-smooshing technique and then dried in between each colour. It's best to work from lightest colour to darkest, but I didn't. When finished, it had a dull appearance but when wiped with a baby wipe, it became vibrant like you see here. I first saw this technique on a video here. 

Next I die-cut the snowy oval (Memory Box Flurry Snowflake Frame) and then I dry-embossed it (Die'sire Embossalicious Let it Snow).  I hand-cut a snowbank from white glitter cardstock (ColorBok) and layered it on the blue panel and then adhered the snowflake frame on top.  Next I adhered the sweater kitty and the mittens, adding a die-cut bow from my stash.   I heat-embossed the sentiment from the same stamp set in white on a dark-blue scrap and adhered it at the bottom right.  Lastly I added three dark-blue snowflake sequins.

2019 Cat Lovers Hop - Day 4

Hello, everyone! Today is Day 4 of the 2019 Cat Lovers Hop, hosted by the lovely Janis at Her Peaceful Garden. Have you had a chance to check out the hop yet? If you love cats, it's definitely the place to be!  There are fun daily games, lots of prizes, and the best part is "meeting" other cat lovers and seeing their cats and projects!

Today I'm sharing a card made with just dies, no stamping. I was inspired by the challenge at The UnstampaBelles, whose theme is Thank You, with a twist of Brilliant in Blue, and the challenge is always no stamps permitted.

I created the inky background with Distress Oxides on photo paper.  I layered several blues using the watercolour ink-smooshing technique and then dried in between each colour. It's best to work from lightest colour to darkest, but I didn't. When finished, it had a dull appearance but when wiped with a baby wipe, it became vibrant like you see here. I first saw this technique on a video here.  I adhered the kitty oval die-cut and the thankful word die-cut on the blue panel and then onto a white card base.  I finished off the card with half-pearls in each corner.

2019 Cat Lovers Hop - Day 3

Hello, everyone! Today is Day 3 of the 2019 Cat Lovers Hop! Thank you to Janis at Her Peaceful Garden for hosting this fun hop with lots of games and prizes!  I've just been over there visiting all the links and I've seen some adorable kitty inspiration!  Lots of kitty photos too!  If you're a cat lover like me, you won't want to miss out!

Today I'm sharing a pumpkin-shaped card for fall! I dusted off another one of my old wood-mounted stamps! This one is by Stampendous - Fluffles the Cat, called Fluffles Leap dated 2005. I coloured the image with my markers (Bic Mark-its and Dollarama Crafts) and then fussy-cut.

I decided to make a big pumpkin using my decorative oval dies. I die-cut three ovals from orange cardstock and inked the edges with Distress Oxide (I used Carved Pumpkin, then Rusty Hinge, and then Brushed Corduroy until I got the look I wanted - the first two colours didn't show up very well). I mounted the centre oval on craft foam to make the shape look more like a pumpkin. For the stem, I used a fox's tail die and tied some eyelash trim for texture. My pumpkin shape was inspired by this YouTube video. I adhered Fluffles and embellished with three metallic leaves (red, orange, and gold). I love how this card turned out!

2019 Cat Lovers Hop - Day 2

Today I'm sharing a fall-themed thank-you card featuring an adorable ginger tabby in a pile of leaves (Newton's Nook - Autumn Newton).  Thank you to Newton's Nook for sponsoring the Cat Lovers Hop every year since the hop started in 2015!

I coloured the image and leaves with my markers (Bic Mark-its and Dollarama Crafts) and then fussy-cut. The sentiment is from the same set, which I also fussy-cut. To make this little scene, I die-cut a tree (Cheery Lynn Birch Tree) and grass (Lawn Fawn Grassy Border) and added a number of metallic leaves and gold leaf-shaped sequins, along with a wooden pumpkin.  The patterned paper is from Pretty Painted Floors 6x6 paper pack.

It's me again!  The 2019 Cat Lovers Hop is on now!  I've been so inspired today!  Thank you to Janis at Her Peaceful Garden, our hop hostess!

Here's my last card for today:

This is my third and final card for the 3 Colors challenge at Mod Squad Challenge Blog, where the challenge is to use only three colours:  black, brown, and cream.  The rules are tough - you must also include a tag on your card, and there can be no white, not even for the card base!

I stamped 3 of the 4 images from the Judikins Paula Best 9500G cat cube in black on cream cardstock.  I die-cut three of the images into tags (Lawn Fawn Tiny Tags) and added a black bow (Gina Marie Designs).  I mounted the three tags on a brown panel and addes stitched lines at the top and bottom edge (Memory Box Open Studio Country Stitches) and then mounted the brown panel on a black card base. I finished off the card by adding a meow die-cut (Recollections Cats), also in cream.

To make sure I didn't stray from the three colours, I stuck to using the black, brown, and cream paper from the Recollections Coffee and Cream cardstock pack:

Hello again!  As promised, I am back with another card for the 2019 Cat Lovers Hop!  Thank you to Janis at Her Peaceful Garden, who hosts this fun hop for us cat lovers!

I made another card for the 3 Colors challenge at Mod Squad Challenge Blog, where the challenge is to use only three colours:  black, brown, and cream.  The rules are tough - you must also include a tag on your card, and there can be no white, not even for the card base!

I die-cut the stitched tag (MFT Stitched Traditional Tag Stax) from cream cardstock and stamped the kitties (Handprints Two Cats wood-mounted rubber stamp, 1990) and sentiment (Simon Says Stamp Friends Forever) in black.  I die-cut the heart background (Taylored Expressions Blooming Hearts Cover Plate) in brown and mounted on black cardstock and then a cream card base.  I salvaged three of the brown heart offcuts and adhered them to the tag, which I adhered to the heart background with foam tape.  I die-cut a heart in cream and paper-pieced it on the background and added a die-cut "purr" (Recollections Cats), also in cream.

To make sure I didn't stray from the three colours, I stuck to using the black, brown, and cream paper from the Recollections Coffee and Cream cardstock pack:

Hello, everybody!  Before I get started, I would like to welcome my newest follower - Valerie Snaith - thank you for joining me!

I have been so inspired by the 2019 Cat Lovers Hop already and it's only the first day! Woohoo! Thank you to Janis at Her Peaceful Garden, who hosts this fun hop and makes us appreciate our kitties just a little more than we already do!

After seeing all of the kitty inspiration over at the Hop, I ended up making three more cards today!  Here is the first one, and I will post the other two shortly.

I stamped the kitties in black on cream cardstock and then mounted it on black cardstock and then a brown card base.  (Sorry I do not know the source of this stamp as I received it in friend mail.)  I stamped a  sentiment at the top left (Your Next Stamp - Summer Blossom Fluffy Kitten).  At the bottom right, I added a tiny die-cut tag (A  Jillian Vance Designs - DieLuxe Tiny Tags Die) with a "meow" stamp (The Greeting Farm - Purrfect Cats).  Lastly I tied some brown twine (American Crafts) on the tag.

To make sure I didn't stray from the three colours, I stuck to using the black, brown, and cream paper from the Recollections Coffee and Cream cardstock pack:
