Remembrance Day Poppies - Thinking of You

Hello, everyone!  Today I am sharing a poppy-themed thinking-of-you card.  I was inspired by Mrs. A's Butterfly Challenge 189, whose theme is Poppies and Panels, as well as Simon Says Stamp Wednesday's Thinking of You challenge.  We just celebrated Canada's Remembrance Day yesterday, so these challenge themes were timely and much appreciated.

I fussy-cut the poppy, label, and poppy-patterned panel from a collage sheet printable from the Facebook group called Free Printables for your Junk Journaling with TLC (thank you for remembering Canada, Paulette!).

The butterfly is a die, which I cut twice so I could paper-piece the body.  I made the thinking-of-you sentiment in Microsoft Word and layered it onto a white scrap.  After adhering everything onto the poppy paper, I layered the panel onto black cardstock and then on a white card base.

Here's the inside of my card, where I added a leftover scrap of the poppy-patterned paper and a punched butterfly, leaving plenty of room to write a message.

I also found inspiration in the following 8 challenges, for a total of 10:
Beccy's Place A Month of Holiday Cards R for Remembrance Day UE (Canada celebrates Remembrance Day on November 11)
Crafts Galore Encore November 3/3
Crafty Calendar November 2/3
DL.ART November Linky AG UE 1/day
Pammie's Inky Pinkies 2344 AG 2/3 C10
Penny's Paper-crafty 559 AG 1/3
Polkadoodles 45 AG 1/2
Word Art Wednesday 621-622 AG w Uplifting Sentiment wk1 1/5

As mentioned on an earlier blog post, I would like to continue sharing cat memes/cartoons in memory of my dear friend Janis Woolbright from Her Peaceful Garden, who passed away in January.  Janis loved sharing cat cartoons and memes, so I have decided to continue her tradition.  I hope it makes you smile!

Thank you for looking at my card!  I will be around to visit your blogs soon; sorry for the delay!  Wishing you a joyful day!

You're Snow Much Fun

Hello, it's me again, back with another card!  I've been inspired by a number of awesome challenges this week, as well as the Fall/Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop!  Today is the last day so I'm linking up all of my cards this afternoon!  Here is my second card:

Ink: Versamark for stamped sentiment, Distress Oxides for background (can't remember which colours as I made this background panel a while ago)
Die: Nellie's Choice Deer in Forest (I used a craft knife to remove the deer), dotted circle (can't remember the brand; all my circles are on magnets)
Other: Snowflake punches, Ranger White embossing powder, glitter paper

I coloured the image with markers, added accents with a white paint marker, and fussy-cut.  Do you see the little fox peeking out from behind?  So cute!   For the scene die, I used a craft knife to remove the deer.  I heat-embossed the sentiment in white and finished the card with several punched snowflakes.

From Meow to You

Hello, everybody!  I was inspired by a number of challenges this week so I made four cards, all with a coffee or cocoa theme!  The Fall/Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop has been going on all week, and today is the last day, so I will be sharing all four of my cards today!   Here is the first one:

Products used:
Stamps:  AALL & Create Light it Up (kitty), Newton's Nook A Kitten Christmas (sentiment and holly)
Ink:  Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide
Die:  Memory Box Curved Happy Holidays
Embossing folder:  Darice Snowflake Background
Other:  Snowflake punch

This cute kitty is a stamp I don't own, but the stamped image was sent to me by a sweet friend (thank you so much - you know who you are!).  I coloured the cat and holly images with markers, added accents with a white paint marker, and fussy-cut.  I embossed a teal panel with snowflakes, adhered the curvy greeting die-cut, and stamped the sentiment directly on the die-cut.  I finished the card with a few punched snowflakes.

I was inspired by the following 8 challenges (see all badges below):
Beccy's Place A Month of Holiday Cards H for Happy Holidays and Holly UE
Caffeinated Christmas CCCC23 Christmas/Holiday themed card with at least one Holly element; card can be Coffee, Tea or Hot Cocoa (see holly by stamped sentiment)

Butterfly Joy-Fold Card

Hello and Happy November!  We had 3 inches of snow a couple days ago but it's all gone now, Yay!  I'm not ready for winter yet!

Today I present my first Joy-Fold Card!  I was inspired by Mrs. A's Butterfly Challenge 188, and I chose all of the options:  Monochromatic, Joy-Fold Card, and Lace Edging (real or faux), plus Butterflies.  The colour options are shown below, and I chose Lilacs.

In doing this challenge, the hardest part was choosing monochromatic patterned papers. It turns out that I have very few so I spent a long time searching through my patterned papers and ended up in my old Dollarama stash, where I finally found some suitable papers that coordinated.

The unbranded sentiment stamp I chose for the front was of poor quality and did not take the ink well, very disappointing, but I do like these words.  The butterfly and flower center are punched shapes.

Here's how the card looks when open:

The large butterfly is a Gina Marie Designs die, and my faux lace is Die-Versions Whispers Lacey Dots border die.  I added three more punched butterflies with flower centers.  I would normally add gems to the middle of my butterflies but I thought they would indent the paper when closed so I opted for the flower centers.  The inside is left blank so I can write my message later.  I like how my card turned out, and now I know how to make a Joy-Fold Card, thanks to Mrs. A!

Here's Mrs. A's Butterfly Wheel for Challenge 188; I chose Lilacs:

I would like to join the following challenges:
Butterfly Challenge 188 Monochromatic, Joy-Fold Card, Lace Edging, Butterflies 1/3
CRAFT 696 AG 1/2

I started sharing cat memes/cartoons last month for the cat lovers challenge in memory of Janis Woolbright from Her Peaceful Garden so I thought I would continue.  Enjoy!

Thank you for being here, and for your kind words in the comments.  They brighten my day!  I will visit your blog sometime over the weekend.  Peaceful wishes to all!
