Spring Coffee Lovers Blog Hop - Final Card

Hi, everybody!  I've really been enjoying myself all week at the Spring Coffee Lovers Blog Hop! There are over 400 entries! What a great turnout! There are still several hours left if you'd like to join in! The blog hop ends tonight at 11:55 p.m. Pacific. This is my final card for the hop! 

You know, all week, I thought I had no coffee stamps, and just look what I found in my stash! I couldn't sleep last night and this stamp flashed in my mind, and I went searching this morning and found it right away!  It's an old wood-mounted stamp by Stampendous called Morning Fluffles. I remember finding this in a bargain bin many years ago, and this is actually the first time it's been inked up, so Yay me for using an NBUS item!  I coloured the image with my Prismacolor pencils, die-cut it into a circle, and added a vellum circle underneath, popped up with a fun-foam circle. Dies used: Nellie's Multiframe Circles.

See the fun background I created?  I was inspired by Jennifer McGuire and wanted to try the technique in her recent video.  It's called ink layering using a stencil.  I CASE'd Jennifer's card but used an image as the focal point instead of a sentiment and sequins instead of the thread as an accent. I added a gold butterfly sequin - after all, this is a spring-themed blog hop!  The sentiment is from Clearly Besotted's A Little Sentimental clear stamps.  Here are the products I used for the background: Hero Arts Unicorn pigment ink, CTMH Pear dye ink, and Memory Box Texture Dots stencil:
