2022 Cat Lovers Hop (Day 5) - The Old Island Stamp Company

Hello, everybody!  Before I get started, I would like to welcome my newest followers - mandy- sea and Vivian Foo - thank you for joining me!

The 2022 Cat Lovers Hop is  now well underway, and I'm guest designing again!  Yay!  If you're going to join the hop, then you must hurry; tomorrow is the last day to link up your cat-themed project!  However, for commenting, you have until November 2.

Today is Day 5 of this fun hop, which has been organized for the 8th year by Janis at Her Peaceful Garden.  Janis does an amazing job keeping things running smoothly and has arranged many awesome sponsors and prizes!  I don't know how she does it all!  Please head over and be inspired by the cat cards and projects in the link-up - you will be glad you did!  I have been enjoying the daily games too!

My card features one of today's generous sponsors, The Old Island Stamp Company.  This company is a brand-new sponsor this year so you will want to check them out!   You can find them on their web site or their Etsy shop.

On the web site, you can choose between Wood Mount, EZ Mount Cushion, or Rubber Die Only.  In their Etsy shop, I see Wood Mounts, which is what I own, and I have shared a photo of my stamps below.

Stamps:

I stamped the Kitty and Potted Berries in black on a white scrap and coloured them with markers.  I die-cut the image into a stitched octogon shape and layered it on a red glitter die-cut of the same shape.  For the background I used patterned paper but decided to add interest by stamping the Tiny Snowflake repeatedly in green.  I don't own any holiday sentiments from The Old Island Stamp Company so I used one from my stash (Avery Elle).

I've been a fan of this stamp company for many years as they are based in Canada, and some of the first stamps I purchased were from The Old Island Stamp Company.  These rubber stamps bring back fun memories and make me happy!

Did you know that wood-mounted rubber stamps are making a comeback?  Not only do they stamp beautifully on the first impression, but they are also a wonderful way to decorate your craft space!  Some crafters change their displays with the seasons.

Thank you to The Old Island Stamp Company for sponsoring the Cat Lovers Hop!

I would also like to join the following 9 challenges, for a total of 10:
BYSH Cardmakers Falling for the Holidays Linky Party

Thank you for looking at my card, and happy hopping!

P.S.  I have a Cat Lovers Giveaway - you can check it out here!

Fabulous card and a great sentiment. The Old Island Stamp Company have some great stamps, unfortunately I am in the UK. I think you are right, wooden stamps make a great display.

I always liked using the wood mounted
stamps, but they take up so much room.

making a card. Love the sentiment
and picture - so cute. thanks

Another wonderful card, Kitty! Great job guest designing this week and even getting Brian in on some action!! This company's logo looks familiar to me, but I don't have anything by them; will have to earmark them for sure. Lots of cute stamps like the ones you used for this pawsome card! The sentiment is way fun!

Oh, there is one card from you, Kitty! :D And a beautiful one as always!! LOVE the retro style of these sketchy stamps and the way you framed the cute scene with the sparkling red! It's a so cheerful card in traditional festive colours! Love also so much the way you added interest to the background with the tone-on-tone green snowflakes, such great idea! I always learn somthing new here, thanks so much for sharing!
Sending biggest hugs and love and my congrats for what you have made with Brian. I'm sure you are proud of him, and also that him could be proud of himself! This is a very positive path!
Have joyful days ahead my friend!

Wonderful use of the 2 wood block stamps. My first stamps were wood block. I do not buy wood block much anymore since the cking stamps work wonderfully with MISTI. Visiting from Cat Lovers Blog Hop.

This is so adorable, love the cat stamp and of course works well with the berry tree, I love the feel of the woodblock stamps, since that is all that was available when I started stamping I do have a good supply to decorate with, (awesome idea) BTW happy to be home now.

What a fun and very cute card! Love those stamps. It has been a long time since we had a cat, but I can remember very clearly how they love the Christmas tree! Brings out their playful yet naughty side...

Thanks for taking part in the October Rudolph Days Challenge.

Thanks for your warmth welcome. Marvelous card. I cannot order Wood Mount as shipping would be very expensive for me. Thanks for your lovely remarks on my FB post.

That sentiment made me laugh... I have seen people hang Christmas trees from the ceiling to deal with naughty cats! Very cute :)
