Knitty Kitty DT

Hello, everyone! Before I get started, I would like to welcome my newest follower - Marianne's Craftroom - Marianne was here previously but somehow got removed with the recent Blogger changes so I am happy to see she's back!  

Now for some exciting news!  I am happy to announce that I have joined the design team for Knitty Kitty Digis! Yay! This is a new company to me, but you all know how much I love kitties! I went to Annabel's etsy shop and immediately fell in love! If you like kitties, you will definitely want to head over there right away to check out the adorable digis! There is also a facebook group, so you might wish to join there as well.

For my card I chose an image that is purr-fect for Valentine's Day, anniversary, or a love card! It's called Tail of Two Kitties, and I coloured it with Prismacolor pencils. I added white dots on all the hearts with a Signo gel pen and added Clear Wink of Stella to the stars for some shimmer. I rounded the corners and mounted the image on a grey scrap and popped it up with foam tape. My card design was inspired by the sketch over at Tuesday Morning Sketches:

The card base is embossed with Cuttlebug Cross My Heart. I die-cut a Die-Namites Heart Doily and hand-cut a banner, both from glitter cardstock. I stamped the sentiment from Clearly Besotted A Little Sentimental and added a number of punched hearts and a tiny heart charm that says "made with love." I'm not sure if it comes across in the photos, but this card is very sparkly!

Heart Snowman

Hello, everyone! Before I get started, I would like to welcome four new followers - choc312002, Jarka Ef, Eekers, and Helen Haines - thank you for joining me!  Today I'm sharing yet another shaker card! Shakers are my favourite style at the moment!

I fell in love with this Valentine Snowman from From the Heart Stamps!  I coloured this cutie with Prismacolor pencils, added Clear Wink of Stella all over her body for some shimmer, and then added Snow Writer to the white parts of her hat.

For the front of the shaker, I used Simon Says Stamp Falling Hearts Stencil and inked Spun Sugar Distress Ink.  I die-cut the Stampendous Snowflake and embossed it with Darice Snowflake Background. The stamped sentiment is from Whimsy Stamps Everyday Moments. For accents, I added a number of heart sequins as well as two white pearls.  Inside the shaker is vase filler from Dollarama - it's lightweight clear plastic beads.

Kitties Warm Fuzzies

Hello, everyone!  Before I share my card, I would like to welcome two new followers - Pam and Nancy - thank you for joining me!  Today I'm sharing a kitties warm fuzzies card!  I used a sweet stamp I've had for many years.  It's an older wood-mounted rubber stamp from Stampendous called Snuggly Kitties from 2006, but it's still as adorable as ever! I coloured the kitties with watercolor markers and fussy-cut.

My card began with the background. I was inspired by the watercolour challenge over at Creative Chick Jenn Shurkus COOLest Card Series (Week 2). I heat-embossed a number of tiny heart and snowflake stamps (Poppystamps Cup of Cheer and Newton's Nook Frozen Friends) in white. Then I used a watercolour smooshing technique with Distress Inks (Evergreen Bough, Wilted Violet, and Seedless Preserves). I love how it turned out! 

I added some leftover glitter cardstock strips (DCWV) along the side.  I die-cut a stitched heart (Gina Marie Designs) from vellum and adhered the kitties.  I stamped the Hero Arts sentiment on a white scrap and hand-cut an angled edge.  I added a number of puffy heart stickers from my stash and some small die-cut snowflakes (Lawn Fawn).  Lastly I added Snow Writer on the white parts of the kitties' hats.

Snow Fun

Hello, everyone!  Happy February 1!  We have an extra day this month for Leap Year!  Before I get started I would like to welcome back a follower - Mrs. A - she was here previously but somehow got removed with all the Blogger changes so I am happy to see her back!  Today I am sharing another shaker card - I can't seem to get enough of these!

I used a couple of new items on this card: first the cute little Winter Bunny clear stamp from Lawn Fawn and secondly the stencil from Memory Box called Winter Snowflake Lace.  I started the card with the stencilled background using Distress Inks: Salty Ocean, Mermaid Lagoon, and Blueprint Sketch.  I was inspired by the stencil challenge over at Creative Chick Jenn Shurkus COOLest Card Series (Week 1).

For the snow, I added a Lawn Fawn Stitched Hillside Border die-cut, and for the trees, I die-cut Impression Obsession Evergreen Trees in blue glitter cardstock (DCWV).  I stamped the sentiment from Whimsy Stamps in black and added three silver snowflake sequins.  

For the shaker bits, I used vase filler from Dollarama - it's lightweight clear plastic and looks like tiny ice cubes.  I stamped the bunny and coloured it with watercolour markers and fussy-cut. The shaker frame was die-cut from white glitter cardstock (DCWV) using Waltzingmouse Stamps Scalloped Stitched Rectangles and Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles.  I like how the sky and snow peek out from behind the shaker frame!

Snow Kitties

Hi, everyone!  I'm back again today to share a clean and simple kitty card.  You might remember I used this same kitty image last week - here is the first card.  I had the left-over sparkly snowflake circle frame (Memory Box) as well as an extra kitty image so I decided to make another card. The sparkly cardstock is from DCWV.

The kitty image is a freebie from Gecko Galz, and you can find it here. Please tell them I sent you!  I coloured just the hat and scarves with Prismacolor pencils, and I added Clear Wink of Stella to the falling snowflakes. The white cardstock is embossed with Darice Snowflake Background (thank you, Lisa!).  I added a die-cut bow from Your Next Stamp and a few sequins.

Celebrate with Cake

Hello, everyone! Before I share my card, I would like to welcome my newest follower - Carrie Sheridan - and my new Bloglovin' follower - Jo-Elaine Castrovinci - thank you both for joining me! 

One of my goals for 2016 is to make more masculine birthday cards and more masculine cards in general. I set this goal last year but failed miserably so I'm trying harder this year! Here's a masculine birthday card I made with a delicious pre-coloured image from Limited Runs called Triple Cake. I added Glossy Accents to the cherry, nuts, and syrup.  It's so yummy looking!

The sentiment is a clear stamp from Avery Elle - Cake and Candles.  I followed the sketch over at Tuesday Morning Sketches:



You know I had to add a kitty! The kitty is heading for the cake hehe!  Die-cuts used were Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles and Impression Obsession Cat Set. I added a strip of wide red glitter tape and a few brown sequins.

Heart Kitty Shaker Card

Hi, everyone!  Today I'm sharing a shaker card that I made for Brian for Valentine's Day from the kitties! I love this month's digi from Gerda Steiner Designs called Love You Kitten!  I received the kitten image for free because I joined Gerda's challenge last month - it's a progressive challenge! Make sure you check it out so you can receive a cute image from Gerda each month for free!

I copied the kitten image and made three of them so I could stack them one on top of the other - I did this digitally. I've been enjoying the trend of stacking animals and I wanted to try it!  I coloured the kittens with Prismacolor pencils so they would look like our kitties, and then fussy-cut.

I was inspired by the colour challenge over at Cupcake Inspirations:



For the background I used the watercolour smooshing technique with Worn Lipstick Distress Ink. I stamped the xoxo sentiment (Clearly Besotted) three times on the watercolour panel and then embossed it with Cuttlebug Cross Your Heart.  I filled the shaker with all kinds of hearts and sequins from my stash.
