Sprinkles - Hot Cocoa Pouch Card

Welcome to the Holiday Coffee Lovers Blog Hop! The hop starts today and runs through December 18. This is our sixth hop - Woohoo! - and I've participated in all six of them! Anyone can join! This time we are focusing on winter/holiday projects, with images of coffee, tea, or cocoa. This is one of my favourite hops so be forewarned... I will be blitzing you with coffee, tea, and cocoa projects all week! It's a blog hop, so commenting is encouraged and much appreciated!

Today I am sharing a hot cocoa pouch card.  It looks like a card on the outside but when you open it up, there's a package of hot cocoa and a candy cane!  I was inspired to make a bunch of these for family and friends so I will be sharing them all week.

The image is from Your Next Stamp - Sprinkles Coffee and Tea. I coloured it with watercolour markers, drew some snowflakes on the cup with a white gel pen, and then used the coordinating die.  I adhered it to a stitched vellum circle (Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circles).  The sentiment is from MFT - Hug in a Mug and I heat embossed it in white on an aqua scrap.  The background is embossed with Darice Snowflakes and then sanded to reveal the white core of the paper. I added a strip of sparkly silver washi tape and three silver snowflake sequins.

On the inside, I stamped a sentiment from MFT - Hug in a Mug. The little mug is from MFT Warm and Fuzzy.  I inked around the edges with Broken China Distress Ink and added an Impression Obsession snowflake. A thin strip of aqua cardstock and some sparkly silver washi tape finish it off.

Merry and Bright Reindeer

Hello, everyone!  Today I am sharing a holiday card featuring a gorgeous image from Bugaboo Digi Stamps called Snowflake Reindeer Silhouette.  I printed the image in grey and die-cut with a Lawn Fawn Stitched Oval.

The sentiment is from Desert Diva and it was a freebie at one point (thank you!).  I saw a fun sketch at Tuesday Morning Sketches and wanted to give it a try:

I embossed the background with Darice Snowflakes and cut into pieces according to the sketch. Lastly I added a silver bow.

I'm joining Day 5 of Catch the Bug's Christmas Chaos.  I chose the theme "Homemade Holiday Chocolates - Use ONLY cardstock, no designer papers, Embossing & 2 Layers", and it is also supposed to be funny.  I don't have a lot of funny images or sentiments for Christmas, so for the sentiment I went with Merry and Bright, which is fun-loving, so I hope it counts!

Speaking of fun-loving, my little elf Eli decided to buddy up to Kiwi today.  Here he has joined Kiwi in his cardboard box.  Kiwi is uninterested, so I guess Eli will have to find another buddy, so stay tuned! We are linking up over at DL.ART's Third Annual Elf Antics Linky! Meowy Christmas With Love

Hi, everyone!  Today I'm sharing a Christmas card to Brian from the kitties. So, Brian, if you're reading this, please go no further! No, this card isn't very masculine, but it's from the kitties!

This card was inspired by Day 2 of Catch the Bug's Christmas Chaos, which is a sketch (see below). I used an adorable digi from Bugaboo Digi Stamps called Meowy Christmas Cats.  I love this cute image because it has all 3 of our kitties (left to right: Honeydew, Snowie, and Kiwi).

I coloured the image with Prismacolor pencils and added Liquid Applique to represent snow.  This is the first time I've used this product - it's cool the way it puffs up when you heat it.  I also added Stampendous Crystal Snow glitter on the white parts of Kiwi's hat. I die-cut the image with a stitched oval from My Creative Time and mounted it on a scalloped oval (Spellbinders) cut from white glitter cardstock (Colorbok).  The background is embossed with Cuttlebug Snowflakes and cut into 3 pieces according to the Catch the Bug sketch. I use my Cuttlebug for die-cutting and embossing. Lastly I stamped the Meowy Christmas sentiment from Newton's Nook and the With Love sentiment from Cleary Besotted and added a bling ribbon.

After seeing the kitty card, Eli elf was feeling left out so he found two friends to pose with! I think the little bears are a bit puzzled but one of them is presenting a gift to Eli!  We would like to link up over at DL.ART's Third Annual Elf Antics Linky! Letters to Santa

Hello, everyone!  Today I am sharing a vintage card. I won this adorable "Letters to Santa" image from Gecko Galz in November.  It's from their Holiday Kids Collage Sheet, and it's one of eight images on the sheet for just $1.00!  So cute!  Gecko Galz is having a Far Away Places challenge on their blog so I decided that the North Pole would be my Far Away Place.

I bet you can guess why I chose this image - can you see the cute kitty at the foot of the mailbox hehe?! I sponged Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink around the edge of the image, rounded the corners, and mounted on white and then brown cardstock.

For the background, I used the awesome December freebie Christmas Patchwork Quilt Paper over at Crafty Secrets Heartwarming Vintage.  I sponged Antique Linen Distress Ink all along the seams and outer edge, and then Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink around the edge.  I thought the quilt needed some stitching so I used a stitch die.  It was barely visible due to the patterns so I decided to stamp a stitched border (Kelly Panacci) all around the quilt and along the seams.  Here's how it looked before I assembled the card. I love this vintage paper!
