Hello, Friend

Hi, everyone!  I'm back again today to share another card.  I was inspired by two challenges this time. First, Deedee's Digis is having a "Pick Your Pal" event for World Card Making Day.  More about this below.  Second, my friend Taunya over at Daisies Girl is celebrating her 4-Year Blogiversary! Congratulations, Taunya!  She would like participants to send her a card based on her mood board (see below). Here's the card I made, which will be mailed off to Taunya tomorrow.

Taunya loves daisies!  Her blog is named Daisies Girl!  Below is her inspirational mood board. She is looking for new followers so I hope you'll head over, join her blog, and help her celebrate! Her blogiversary celebration is running during the month of October.

For Taunya's card, I chose the adorable image and paper from Deedee's Digis - Bugs and Blooms.  I love this little cutie holding the daisy!  I fussy-cut the image so I could pop him up with foam tape.  I added Clear Wink of Stella to the center of the daisy and Glossy Accents on the bug's eyes.  Behind the image, the cardstock is embossed with Couture Creations Crazy Daisy.

I chose a friendship scripture from Deedee's Digis - My Heart is Yours and added a label sentiment with my Dymo. Taunya was feeling overwhelmed last month and took a blog break - she's back now but she could use some encouragement. I hope you like my card, Taunya!  It's going in the mail tomorrow!

The "Pick Your Pal" challenge at Deedee's Digis is a Tic-Tac-Toe game. When you complete a row, you get to "pick your pal"!  I'm going for #7 Oscar Stocking Pal - he's the cute kitty in the Christmas stocking!  I'll be posting my card on my fb wall as part of the first square. Glitter n Sparkle DT (Anything Goes) and The Hop to Stop

Hello, everybody!  Before I share my card, I would like to welcome three new followers - Kelly, Jade Morrison, and Annie LaVallee-Curtis - so nice to have you here!  

It's Sunday again, so that means there's a new challenge starting today over at Glitter n Sparkle Challenge Blog! Our theme this week is your favourite and mine: Anything Goes!  I hope you can join us!

My card today features a sweet Snowman from Ike's Art. Sometimes I like to use an image from my own stash for my DT card and that's what I'm doing today!  I won this cutie from Ike in one of her challenges a few weeks ago and was eager to get it onto a card!  I decided to go with a purple colour scheme so I can support Becca's The Hop to Stop, a blog hop designed to raise awareness about domestic violence, an issue that impacts one in four women, and the resources that are available to assist victims of domestic violence.

I coloured the Snowman with Prismacolor pencils and then fussy-cut so I could pop him up with foam tape.  I added Sparkle N Sprinkle Inference Violet Semi-Transparent Glitter on the white parts of his hat and a tiny purple gem to his poinsettia. You may think I created the sky myself but this is actually a digital paper I found in my stash from Fred She Said - Purple Pansies Set.  I love the ombre look! I heat embossed the sentiment in white (sorry I don't know the source of this stamp - I won it in some candy from Avril a couple years ago - thank you, Avril, I love this stamp!). I added some Poppystamps Stitched Landscapes for the snowdrifts (cut from left-over snippets) and lots of Liquid Pearls to represent the falling snow.

The Hop to Stop 2

Hello, everyone! Today is the third day of The Hop to Stop. I hope you can join us! October is National Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and this hop is designed to raise awareness about domestic violence, an issue that impacts one in four women, and the resources that are available to assist victims of domestic violence.

Purple is the domestic violence awareness colour, so any type of papercraft/mixed media art project is welcome, as long as it *features* the colour purple.  The linky is open now until 12 noon Central on Wednesday, October 14. Sadly three women are murdered every day in the U.S. by a current or former male partner.  With this in mind, I created a sympathy card.

I was inspired by Jennifer McGuire's faux textured metal technique here. I masked a watercolour panel and sponged Seedless Preserves, Dusty Concord, and Milled Lavender Distress Inks. I was going for an ombre look. I brushed white Perfect Pearls over the sponged area to create a beautiful luster. The panel was embossed with Couture Creations One World. I used Seedless Preserves and Dusty Concord Distress Inks mixed with water to add some splatter. The stamped sentiment is from Clearly Besotted Many Messages clear stamps.  I added a die-cut butterfly (Wild Rose Studio Butterfly Lace) and some black gems along its body. A tiny silver butterfly charm was knotted with American Crafts twine.  Lastly I added two gems in opposite corners.  Here's a photo showing the sheen from the Perfect Pearls.

Fall Coffee Lovers Blog Hop - One Last Card

Yes, this is my last card for the Fall Coffee Lovers' Blog Hop - I promise! I think you may be getting tired of seeing all of my coffee and tea cards, but I had so much fun making and sharing them! If you haven't joined the hop yet, then you had better hurry! The linky is open until 11:59 p.m. Pacific tonight (Friday, October 2).

There was an awesome freebie during the hop (it's available until October 15 if you'd like to go snag it for yourself!), and I just had to use it before the hop ended. It's called Latte Love from Super Sponsor Verve Stamps. Thank you, Verve Stamps! I love this set! I coloured the cup with watercolour markers and inked the edges with Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink.  I fussy-cut and popped it up with foam tape and affixed it to a stitched Gift Tag (Top Dog Dies).

I started with a white note card and added an orange panel which I embossed with Darice - Leaves Assorted Pattern.  Then I added a piece of burlap which I hand-cut into a banner shape.  I was following this sketch at Viva La Verve Sketches (Week 3):

I added a bunch of leaves (Impression Obsession Small Leaf Set) that I had left over from a previous project, some beautiful seam-binding ribbon that I won from Little Scrap Pieces (thank you, Karen!), a metal leaf charm, and a cute puffy squirrel sticker.

Fall Coffee Lovers Blog Hop - Day 8

Today's card features a cute critter from Deedee's Digis - Fall Warm-up. I used the pre-coloured version because it already looks so cute!  I mounted it on a brown square and popped up with foam tape.  

The kraft panel is embossed with Darice - Leaves Assorted Patterns.  I've used this EF a lot during the hop! As for the coffee words, I had two left-over pieces from yesterday's card, where I stamped a coffee text stamp repeatedly in Versamark ink on a kraft panel.  I won this stamp from Hetty in one of the previous Coffee Lovers' Blog Hops (thank you, Hetty!). 

I stamped a sentiment from Whimsy Stamps - Everyday Moments in Ancient Page - Chocolate and then added several tiny brown gems and a couple metallic leaves.

Serious subject matter but the hop is meant to be fun.  We hope you get informed and get inspired!  I used lots of purple on my Halloween shaker card. I started by inking a background with Milled Lavender, Dusty Concord, and Black Soot Distress Inks and then splattered some water and Dusty Concord.  I also stamped a sentiment from Newton's Nook - Newton's Perfect Pumpkin.

For the shaker frame, I die-cut the Impression Obsession Tree Frame and then layered a stitched frame over it, which was cut with Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles. I stamped Newton's Nook - Newton's Perfect Pumpkin and coloured him with watercolour markers. The purple pumpkin is a lot of fun!  I filled the shaker with all sorts of purple sequins, some purple bats, silver spiderwebs, and black and silver sequins.  This is Brian's Halloween card but he's already seen it - I had to show him because I was so excited about how it turned out!  Now I might have to make him another one!

Fall Coffee Lovers Blog Hop - Day 7

Today I've used a fun image from From the Heart Stamps called Birdbrain Needs Coffee. I coloured it with watercolour markers, fussy-cut, and popped up with foam tape.  

To begin, I created a background by stamping a coffee text stamp repeatedly in Versamark ink on a kraft panel.  I won this stamp from Hetty in one of the previous Coffee Lovers' Blog Hops (thank you, Hetty!). Hetty is an avid coffee drinker, and there is lots of coffee inspiration on her blog!  

I found a couple scraps of fall-themed patterned papers from Momenta in my stash and cut them according to the sketch below.  The sentiment is from the same Birdbrain set.  I added some die-cut Impression Obsession Oak Leaves and two tiny brown gems.
