Nicecrane GDT - Musical Cat

Hi, everybody!  Before I share my card, I would like to welcome my newest follower - Stamping with Bibliana -  thank you for joining me!

This month I am a guest designer for Nicecrane Designs! I adore Ignacio's wonderful images and digis, so I am really enjoying myself!  My card features a musical kitty from the Vintage Funny Kittens set.  I sponged around the edges with distress ink to give it a vintage look.

I did some stamping here as well.  On the lightest sheet of dp, I stamped several bird images, one of which I fussy-cut and affixed with foam tape at the top right.  Then I added lots of flowers and fun items from my stash to make it interesting.

Here are the supplies used:
  • Clear Stamps:  Crafty Secrets Bird Notes
  • Ink:  Versafine Vintage Sepia, Distress Ink Brushed Corduroy
  • Die:  Impression Obsession Cat Set
  • Designer paper:  MME Reunion
  • Digital elements:  Scrabble tiles (The Computer Scrapbook freebie - thank you!), sentiment ticket (Scrap-a-licious freebie - thank you)
  • Accents:  Flowers (I am Roses, Marcella by K, and my stash), Dymo Label Maker, brads, buttons, ribbon, wooden butterfly, gem, and charm - all from my stash
  • Sketch:  Mojo Monday (see below)

Happy Boo (Just Some Lines image)

Hello, everybody!  I'm back again today with another Halloween card.  But first things first, I would like to welcome my newest follower - sue k - so nice to have you here!

I was inspired by a couple of fun challenges to make this card.  There's a Halloween challenge going on over at Just Some Lines Facebook Group and a Trick-or-Treat challenge at My Craft Spot and I wanted to join in!

The cute little ghost is called Happy Boo from Just Some Lines, and I coloured him with my Prismacolor pencils.  The baker's twine is from My Craft Spot (mandarin), and I added a little spider web charm from my stash.  The patterned papers are from Halloween Cuties by Panda Bear Designs at Stitchy Bear's Digi Outlet (purple), and Mygrafico (green).  The digi sentiment is from The Alley Way Stamps.  And my card wouldn't be complete without a kitty, so I added a black cat die cut (Taylored Expressions Gothic Window Accessories).

I would like to support the following challenges:
  1. Bizzy Becs October AG UE C5 (Taylored Expressions dies available from Bizzy Becs here)
  2. WINNER Just Some Lines Facebook Group Halloween UE
  3. My Craft Spot Trick or Treat 1E C5 (used mandarin twine from My Craft Spot here)
  4. FB WINNER One Stitch at a Time AG with Orange 2/3 (twine is orange, as is sentiment; used papers from Stitchy Bear Digi Outlet here) 2/3
  5. 2 Cute Ink Halloween C10

Thank you for looking at my card!  Wishing you a joyful day!

Throwback Thursday - A Blast from the Past

Hello, everyone!  I found a fun new place to play!  It's all about walking down memory lane with cards or projects you've made in the past.  It's called Artsy Craftsy Throwback Thursday and is the wonderful idea of Bibliana at Stamping with Bibliana.  I missed the first challenge, but I'm all set for Challenge 2.  This time the theme is "A Past Halloween Project, preferably but NOT compulsory."

I decided to stick with the Halloween theme. Here's a card I made for my brother and his wife and posted on my blog last year.  The original post is here.

I cropped the original photo and added my watermark. That's my kitty Kiwi in behind the card hehe, but I cropped him out this time.  You can see more of his paw on the original photo here.

Well I hope you like my blast from the past!  Thank you to Bibliana for the inspiration to walk down memory lane!

Updated:  I won this challenge - Yay!

Happy Halloween (Penny Black stamp)

Hi, everyone.  Today I am sharing a Halloween card featuring a kitty from Penny Black's "Spooky" clear stamp set.  I stamped it on watercolour paper and used my Tombow watercolour markers - a bit of a change for me as I usually colour with pencils.  I fussy-cut the kitty and popped up with foam tape, adding a star sequin to his hat.

I stamped the sentiment vertically alongside the kitty.  I added a couple banners and another sentiment using tiny alphabet labels and stamped an exclamation mark.

Here are the supplies used:
  • Stamps:  Image, sentiment (Penny Black "Spooky" clear stamps), exclamation mark (Studio G clear stamps)
  • Patterned paper:  Creative Memories, Forever in Time
  • Ink:  StazOn Jet lack
  • Watercolour paper:  Canson
  • Accents:  Alphabet labels, star sequin (my stash)

I also wanted to play along in Colette's Cosmic Colours Challenge, so I used three of the colours in the swatch shown below.

Tomas the Graduation Cat (Dragonsmoore image)

Hello, everyone!  Before I share my card, I would like to welcome two lovely new followers - Shuly and Olenkaja - so happy to have you join me!

Today I am sharing a graduation card featuring the most adorable kitty called Tomas the Graduation Cat from Dragonsmoore: Spyder's Other Corner.  Spyder is one of my favourite designers - and I think you will see why!  I love this cute kitty!  He is so happy to be graduating - he makes me smile! Finding a graduation kitty image was not easy, and I was so pleased that Spyder came up with this sweet one!

I used the school colours from the nearby town, where my nieces and nephew attend, which are maroon and white.

I paper-pieced Tomas's grad gown and cap and added coordinating strips at an angle. The DP is from Colorbox Midnight Garden. The sentiment is a freebie digi from Desert Diva (thank you, Hannelie), and I added three silver metallic grad caps to finish it off.

Good Karma Clouds (Beccy's Place image)

Hi, everyone!  Today I am sharing a card I made for a friend who needs some encouragement!  I was lucky enough to win a challenge sponsored by Beccy's Place last week and I knew right away which set I would choose! Thank you, Beccy! This kitty is from a set called Cattitude.  As you can see, this kitty has been going through a rough patch!

I thought this freebie sentiment from Ginger's House was perfect for the image. It says, "May the fair weather, good karma clouds find you soon."  So I added some die-cut vellum clouds (Lawn Fawn) and a sun (Joy!craft) peeking through, showing a sign of brighter times ahead!

Thinking of You (Crafty Secrets stamps)

Hello, everybody!  The Crafty Secrets October Linky Party is now underway, and this is a challenge I don't like to miss!  Everyone who enters is a winner!  Why don't you come over and join me!  My card features a clear stamp and sentiment from the Sing for Joy clear stamp set, which I stamped in purple.

I also wanted to play along in Colette's Cosmic Colours Challenge, so I used three of the colours in the swatch shown below.

Cosmic Colours Challenge #6
Produced Hues 3 - Design Seeds

I have been trying my CAS style lately and it's like going back to my roots.  When I first started stamping, I only made CAS cards.

I used a tiny circle die on the top of the tag and then used a punch to make a smaller hole to tie the ribbon.  I also used a punch to make the corners of the tag. I trimmed the sentiment banner by hand. Except for the white card base, all the cardstock and dp was in my snippets folder, left over from other projects.  The ribbon is Offray.

Here's a photo of the Sing for Joy clear stamp set:
