Nicecrane GDT - Loving Xmas Wishes

Hello, everyone!  I had the pleasure of being a Guest Designer for Nicecrane Designs this month - thank you, Ignacio, for having me!  Here is my final card and it features an adorable image from the Vintage Funny Kittens set. I inked around the edges with distress ink to add a vintage look.

I started with a card base I received in a goody package I won last month over at Cosmic Colours (thank you, Colette!) - I thought it was perfect for a vintage card! Then I had fun loading it up with all kinds of crafty goodness!  Here's a list:

• Die cuts:  Ivy Strip (Cheery Lynn), Tiffany Frame and Cherise Label (Memory Box)

Throwback Thursday - Walking down Memory Lane

Hello, everyone!  Have you checked out Artsy Craftsy Throwback Thursday yet?  It's a fun new challenge where you revive a past card/past blog post and take a little walk down memory lane.  It is the brainchild of Bibliana at Stamping with Bibliana.  I played last time and guess what - I won - Yay!  So I'm back again this fortnight with another blast from the past.  I hope you can come over and join in for Challenge 3.  It really is a lot of fun!

The theme is Anything Goes, so I have decided to revive one of my all-time favourite cards. Here is my original blog post and it was just about a year ago that I made this card.  In my blog post, I actually revealed some information about myself, which I don't normally do!

House-Mouse White on White

Hello, everyone!  I would like to welcome my new follower - Lia - so lovely to have you here! Today I have made a Christmas card. The challenge over at House-Mouse and Friends is White on White, with only the image permitted to have colour. I decided to take on the challenge!

I used an image from Joanna Sheen's House-Mouse Christmas CD Volume Two. I embossed white cardstock with Cuttlebug Snowflakes and added lots of snowflake die cuts and a little snowman. All die cuts are made from snippets left over from previous projects. Each is coated in very fine white glitter - it's hard to see the sparkle in the photo, but if you click to enlarge it, you can see it better. The banner sentiment says Merry Christmas and it's from Clearly Besotted's Mini Banners - I heat embossed it white on white, twice, fussy-cut, and then fussy-cut just the middle portion, and popped both with foam tape.  I added some lace from The Ribbon Girl along the top and some pearls along the side and on several of the snowflakes.  I also added a clear snowflake.  The dies are from JoyCraft and Impression Obsession.

Praying for a Speedy Recovery (FTHS image)

Hello, everyone!  I am back again tonight with another card!  The link for this one expires in just a couple hours so I need to get it posted pronto!  It's a get-well card featuring a sweet image called Faithful Friends Care and Comfort from From the Heart Stamps, and I coloured it with my Prismacolor pencils.

I enjoy playing along in the sketch challenges over at i {heart} sketches and this time we could pick any previous sketch. I chose Sketch 083 from last week (see below).

I used patterned paper from Momenta and gems, charm, and twine from my stash. I did some faux stitching around one of the panels using a black Staedtler marker.

Deedee's Digis DT - Country Christmas (2 cards)

Hello, everyone!  I'm back again today with another DT post. This time I am sharing two cards I made for Deedee's Digis.  You all know I love kitties, but did you also know I love snowmen?  Yes, I do, and I fell in love with the adorable snowman in this Country Christmas set from Deedee's shop. There are a number of other images that come with the set, as you 'll see below, but the snowman stole my heart!  I coloured him/her with my Prismacolor pencils and fussy-cut.

I used a new (to me) technique on this card! I have a number of stencils in my stash and I finally got up the nerve to use one! This one is called LJ849 Bare Trees from Dreamweaver Stencils.  For this technique I used embossing paste and glitter and this was my second attempt.  I'm not sure I scraped off enough of the paste but I'm still learning!  I saved my first attempt and may use it on a future card (or not!).  

I also used one of my new birthday dies from Lawn Fawn called Stitched Hillside Borders.  The sentiment is from Deedee's Country Christmas set and I used my own word bubble and then fussy-cut.  The snowman and word bubble are popped up with foam tape.  I added yellow glitter to the star on the snowman.  

For my second card, I used the same snowman and sentiment but went with a different colour combo, and I coloured a tartan pattern on the scarf!  Here I used another one of my new birthday dies, this one from Memory Box called Evergreen Landscape.  The gorgeous green paper was part of a prize package I won last month from Cosmic Strawberry (thank you, Colette!).  I added a number of sequins and a braided silver trim.

Sadly, this is my final DT post for Deedee's Digis as I have decided to step down. It's been a fun nine months and I'm going to miss the wonderful ladies on this DT! Glitter n Sparkle DT - Halloween

Hello, everyone! It's Sunday and that means we have a new challenge for you over at Glitter n Sparkle Challenge Blog. This week our challenge is Halloween. I hope you can join us!  For my card, I chose this adorable image from A Day for Daisies called Black Cats for Sale - what a cute little scene - and you all know how I love kitties! I coloured the image with my Prismacolor pencils and added a sentiment with tiny alphabet stickers.  

The embossing folder is one from my stash that I hadn't used before.  It's called Dot Matrix from Sissix/Tim Holtz.  I think it goes very well here!  

For the banners, I used my Taylored Expressions Banner Stacklets 1.  The patterned paper is from Creative Memories (orange) and Forever in Time (black) and these were cut from left-over snippets from previous projects.  You can't see it very well in the photo, but the black banner has glittery circles on it, so I have a bit of a circle or dot theme going on here!

The twine is from My Craft Spot, and as a finishing touch I added a little spiderweb charm from my stash.  I also wanted to play along in Colette's Cosmic Colours Challenge, so I used three of the colours in the swatch shown below.
