TMS 560 - Tuesday Morning Sketches

Hello, everyone! We have a new sketch for you this week at Tuesday Morning Sketches!  I enjoyed this one very much, and I hope it will inspire you too!

I was thrilled to use a bunch of my scraps for this card!  I save all scraps of the alcohol ink backgrounds that I make, just for this reason!  Even the smallest scrap can be used in die-cutting.  The die is Simon Says Stamp Butterfly Drift, and I cut it 8 times, once in white, and then 7 more times, placing a different colour scrap over each of the butterflies as I ran it through my Cuttlebug.

I paper-pieced the rainbow-coloured butterflies back into the white outline.  I die-cut a scalloped border for each side of the vertical strip (Lawn Fawn Stitched Scalloped Border).  The background is embossed with Taylored Expressions Butterfly Swirl and I adhered the vertical strip with foam tape.  I stamped the sentiment (Clearly Besotted) and adhered according to the sketch.  To finish the card, I added a coordinating sequin to the center of each butterfly.

Here's our Sketch 560, designed by Melissa. I hope you'll be inspired to join our challenge - I always enjoy seeing what you make!

We were thinking alike with our butterflies. But they are also so different from each other. Great idea to make them from your scraps. I also collect them, but hardly use them. So this beautiful card is a great idea!

Hi dear Kitty!! I'm online again and can see that your cards are AMAZING as always!!! This one is really stunning and surely one of my all-time favourites from you!! You made a great work with your alcohol inks scraps, the paper-pieced rainbow butterflies looks so very well on the scalloped border and the colourful gems make them even more interesting! That embossed panel makes the card so elegant and sweet! A true masterpiece!
Hope all is going well for you and family
