Tuesday Morning Sketches - TMS 534

Hello, everybody!  Are you looking for some inspiration for those last-minute holiday cards?  If so, we have a fun sketch for you at Tuesday Morning Sketches!  I think it's perfect for a holiday card, but it would work for any occasion. Please head over and check out the beautiful cards made by my teammates! I'm looking forward to seeing what you come up with!

I created this peaceful scene using Memory Box Country Church Frame die.  I cut it once in white and a second time in white glitter so I could paper-piece. I made the inky background with Distress Oxides on photo paper. I layered several blues and purples using the watercolour ink-smooshing technique and then dried in between each colour. It's best to work from lightest colour to darkest, but I didn't. When finished, it had a dull appearance but when wiped with a baby wipe, it became vibrant like you see here. I first saw this technique on a video here. It's one of my favourite techniques!  I added white dots to the sky with a paint marker to simulate snowflakes.

The sentiment die is from Recollections and I layered it twice.  I made a triple bow with white twine (American Crafts) and added a few evergreen branches in white (Martha Stewart punch).  The white panel is embossed with Die'sire Embossalicious Let it Snow.

Here's this week's sketch, designed by Debbie - Sketch #534. I hope you'll be inspired and join our challenge!

I find it difficult to use dry embossed background in my card, but you nail it every time. Love to see your cards for inspiration. This is such a wonderful ink background that makes the die cuts pop out.

Kitty this is awesome. You make such great backgrounds with those beautiful blues. Wonderful embossing and dies. I feel so behind since I have cards made and none mailed. YIKES working a regular full time job just gets in the way of all the fun stuff that I want to do, lol.
