Holiday Card 1 - A for Alcohol Inks

Hello, everyone!  Before I get started, I would like to welcome my two new followers - donna and Rochellies Creations.  If you would like to leave a link to your blog in the comments, I will be happy to hop over and follow you too!

Good news!  I am happy to report that my husband is back home with me again!  For those who are new here, Brian suffered a stroke in August.  He was discharged from the rehab hospital some days ago, and we have been trying to get into a routine; still working on that.  He will have a long road to recovery but at least he can heal at home now.  Your well wishes and prayers have been appreciated!

I am way behind in my holiday cards so that's what I've been working on.   I apologize to my followers in advance for the blog blast, but I will be sharing 10 cards today as I try to get caught up. Please do not feel obligated to comment on any of my projects.  I am planning to visit your blogs over the next few days, and I am looking forward to seeing what you made!

Inspiration for my holiday cards has come from the alphabet prompts over at Beccy's Place - she is having her sixth annual Month of Holiday Cards Challenge.  Beccy is already on the letter "I" so I will be doing my best to catch up to her today!

My first card was inspired by Day 1 - "A", and I went with Alcohol Inks.  The background was made some time ago, so I don't recall the specific colours of alcohol inks I used, but it was a mixture of several shades of blue and maybe some green.

The die is Memory Box Grand Stag Oval Frame, and the embossing folder is Darice Snowflake Background.  The sentiment is from A Creative Journey with Melissa - You're Snow Wonderful.

I would also like to support the following challenges:  2 Crafty Critter Crazies AG Animals 1/5; ABC Christmas W for Wishes UE; Cardz TV 73 AG 1/3; Crafting by Designs November AG 1/3; Crafts Galore Encore AG 1/3; Crafty Catz Getting Ready for Christmas 1/3; Crafty Creations AG 1/2; Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas AG Optional Use a Button UE; Creatalicious AG Optional Embossing (dry embossing) UE; Creative Craft Cottage Christmas is Coming 1/3; Creative Inspirations November Chill 1/3; Crop Stop November Link Party AG  (Memory Box dies available at Crop Stop) 1/5; Cut it Up Clean and Simple 1E; Cute Card Thursday Snowflakes UE; Die-Cut Divas AG 1/4; Double D Wishes are Possible (inspired by blue/white in lower left quadrant of mood board) 1/3; Happy Little Stampers AG w Dies UE; Happy Little Stampers Christmas Clean and Simple UE; Incy Wincy Christmas 1/5; Jo's Scrap Shack AG 1/3; Just Keep on Creating November AG UE; Lil Patch of Crafty Friends AG 1/3; Pammie's Inky Pinkies AG 1/3; Paperbabe Animals/Pets 1/3; Papercraft Business 12 AG Optional Christmas Animal 1/3; Penny's Paper-crafty AG 1/3; Scribbles Designs Winter is Coming 1/3; Simon Says Stamp Monday Make Your Own Background (alcohol inks, dry embossing) 1/5; The Cat's Pajamas Winter Holidays UE; Through the Craft Room Door AG 1/2; Winter Wonderland What You Love to Do at Christmas (enjoy winter nature, animals, and snow) 1/3; Word Art Wednesday AG w Uplifting Sentiment 1/5 wk1; Your Scrapbook Place AG 1/3

I'm so glad to hear Brian is home again Kitty, and you can finally quit those horrendous bus trips. I'm sure he will be able to heal much faster in his own environment.
I love your first card for this challenge, the blue background is just stunning and the big stag looks very regal. The white, embossed background is the perfect choice as it doesn't take anything away from the dies. Lovely!
Cheers,
Beccy
