Today I have another ocean-themed card to share! This adorable image is from Craftin' Desert Divas called Cat Ship's Captain. I've been joining the monthly challenge over at Craftin' Desert Divas Gallery facebook group, and each time I participate, I get to pick out a new digi for free! Yay! I chose this cutie-pie for their August watercolour challenge! I coloured him with Prismacolor pencils and then fussy-cut.
My card began with an ocean background using blue and green watercolours. When dry, I die-cut with Taylored Expressions Wave Border and then layered all the borders together to create an ocean look. I splashed some water droplets for added texture. To create the sky I used the watercolour smooshing technique with Tumbled Glass Distress Ink. I adhered the ocean to the sky and then die-cut with Gina Marie Designs Stitched Rectangle.
I heat-embossed a Newton's Nook sentiment in white on a black scrap and then die-cut into a banner shape with Gina Marie Designs Drop Pennant. The sun and clouds were die-cut using Lawn Fawn Spring Showers. I stamped the sun with a smiley face from Your Next Stamp. To finish it off I added some cute puffy stickers from Dollarama - the shark is my favourite - I love the look on his face!
