Snow Kitties

Hi, everyone!  I'm back again today to share a clean and simple kitty card.  You might remember I used this same kitty image last week - here is the first card.  I had the left-over sparkly snowflake circle frame (Memory Box) as well as an extra kitty image so I decided to make another card. The sparkly cardstock is from DCWV.

The kitty image is a freebie from Gecko Galz, and you can find it here. Please tell them I sent you!  I coloured just the hat and scarves with Prismacolor pencils, and I added Clear Wink of Stella to the falling snowflakes. The white cardstock is embossed with Darice Snowflake Background (thank you, Lisa!).  I added a die-cut bow from Your Next Stamp and a few sequins.

Celebrate with Cake

Hello, everyone! Before I share my card, I would like to welcome my newest follower - Carrie Sheridan - and my new Bloglovin' follower - Jo-Elaine Castrovinci - thank you both for joining me! 

One of my goals for 2016 is to make more masculine birthday cards and more masculine cards in general. I set this goal last year but failed miserably so I'm trying harder this year! Here's a masculine birthday card I made with a delicious pre-coloured image from Limited Runs called Triple Cake. I added Glossy Accents to the cherry, nuts, and syrup.  It's so yummy looking!

The sentiment is a clear stamp from Avery Elle - Cake and Candles.  I followed the sketch over at Tuesday Morning Sketches:



You know I had to add a kitty! The kitty is heading for the cake hehe!  Die-cuts used were Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles and Impression Obsession Cat Set. I added a strip of wide red glitter tape and a few brown sequins.

Heart Kitty Shaker Card

Hi, everyone!  Today I'm sharing a shaker card that I made for Brian for Valentine's Day from the kitties! I love this month's digi from Gerda Steiner Designs called Love You Kitten!  I received the kitten image for free because I joined Gerda's challenge last month - it's a progressive challenge! Make sure you check it out so you can receive a cute image from Gerda each month for free!

I copied the kitten image and made three of them so I could stack them one on top of the other - I did this digitally. I've been enjoying the trend of stacking animals and I wanted to try it!  I coloured the kittens with Prismacolor pencils so they would look like our kitties, and then fussy-cut.

I was inspired by the colour challenge over at Cupcake Inspirations:



For the background I used the watercolour smooshing technique with Worn Lipstick Distress Ink. I stamped the xoxo sentiment (Clearly Besotted) three times on the watercolour panel and then embossed it with Cuttlebug Cross Your Heart.  I filled the shaker with all kinds of hearts and sequins from my stash. Bluebird Hot Cocoa

Hello, everyone! I'm back again with another winter card! This one depicts a bluebird with hot cocoa! I mentioned earlier that I have people on my Christmas list who do not like Christmas so you will notice I make some cards with winter sentiments. I went with a blue/brown colour scheme for more of a masculine look.

The cute clip-art is from Diddybag and I fussy-cut, popped up with foam tape, and added Glossy Accents to the mug. The snowflake die-cut from Stampendous is embossed with Cuttlebug Swiss Dots and popped up with foam tape. I followed the sketch at Tuesday Morning Sketches:



I embossed the blue cardstock with Darice Snowflake Background.  The icicle border is Impression Obsession Icycle Edger, die-cut twice, once from white and next from white glitter cardstock, and I layered them together, with a strip of brown polka-dot washi tape.  The sentiment from Poppystamps You Melt My Heart is stamped in Ancient Page Chocolate. To finish off the card, I added a number of white sequins.

Mouse Cocoa

Hello, everyone! It's cold and snowy here so I'm making winter cards! This one depicts a mouse with hot cocoa! Baby, It's Cold Outside

Hi, everyone!  I saw this fun free printable yesterday and thought it was adorable so I decided to make it into a shaker card!  I love that there's a bundled-up kitty with a cup of hot cocoa!

You can find the free printable at Mein Lila Park here.  I printed it and mounted on coordinating cardstock that I embossed with Darice Snowflake Background (thank you, Lisa!). I affixed a few hot-pink snowflake sequins and added tiny stars in silver, white, and hot pink for the shaker bits.

For the shaker frame, I used Memory Box Cross-Stitched Frame Borders and added a few of my new Memory Box Twilight Snowflakes.  Although it's not visible in the photo, I pressed the snowflakes into my Versamark pad and coated them with SU Dazzling Diamond glitter so they are quite sparkly in person.  I also added Poppystamps Curious Cat (retired) in hot pink!

Joyful Greetings

Hi, everyone!  I'm back again today with a shaker card!  This cute kitty image was a freebie from Gecko Galz at one point (I'll provide a direct link if I can find it - it was on one of their DT blogs in December.  Edited:  Found it!  Here is the freebie - please leave a comment that Kitty sent you!).

Gecko Galz is having an All That Glitters challenge this month, and I wanted to join!  I coloured the kitties with Prismacolor pencils and inked the sky with Tumbled Glass Distress Ink.

For the snowbank I used Poppystamps Stitched Landscapes die and added SU Dazzling Diamond glitter along the top of the snow. For the front of the shaker, I used one of my new dies - Memory Box Stitched Snowflake Circle Frame - and I also added two additional snowflakes (Impression Obsession).  I used an inlaid die-cutting technique with the snowflake frame - I haven't tried this technique before with a shaker card but I think the key is the right glue!

The sparkly cardstock is from DCWV, and it is die-cut with Waltzingmouse Stamps Scalloped Stitched Rectangles. The cute die-cut bow (new) and sentiment are from Paper Smooches, and I added a purple gem to the bow.  Inside the shaker I used white seed beads.

Last of the Snow Globes

Hello, everybody.  I made a lot of snow globes for Christmas gifts, and here is the final one. The cute squirrel stamp is from Poppystamps Cup of Cheer. I coloured him with my Prismacolor pencils and used the coordinating die.

I created the sky with Distress Inks (Evergreen Bough, Chipped Sapphire) and added Liquid Pearls to look like snowfall.  The snowy hill was cut with Poppystamps Stitched Landscapes. Here's a look at the sparkly goodness when it is shaken.

Spare Rudolph Noses

Hello, everyone!  I still have a couple of Christmas projects that I did not have time to share due to my computer crash earlier this month.  This one is a little candy gift bag I made as a stocking stuffer: Spare Rudolph Noses!

These were super quick and easy to make! The Spare Rudolph Noses tag was a free printable over at Choux Choux Paper Art (thank you, Lori!).  I printed off two sheets of the tags (4 tags on each sheet), trimmed them to size with my paper trimmer, punched a hole in the tag, and then tied them to the bags of cherry sours with baker's twine from DL.ART. I bought the cherry sours at the Bulk Barn so I was able to buy just the amount I wanted, and then measured them into tiny treat bags.

Cozy Kittens

Hello, everyone! Before I share my card, I would like to welcome my newest follower - Christina H - so happy to have you here!  Today I am sharing a card I made for my parents to thank them for the gifts and cash I received at Christmas. I love how it turned out and can't wait to give it to them on my next visit!

It's a shaker card! I used the adorable Free Stamp of the Month from From the Heart Stamps called Cozy Kittens. I coloured them with Prismacolor pencils and fussy-cut.  The background was created with Distress Inks (Evergreen Bough, Mermaid Lagoon, Milled Lavender), splashed with water. The snowy hills are Poppystamps Stitched Landscapes.  I adhered a number of snowflake and star sequins to the background - the silver ones are showing up as black in the photo but they are silver. For the shaker bits, I used clear vase filler because I think they look like ice crystals.

The shaker window is cut with one of my new dies - Memory Box Woodland Oval.  I die-cut it twice. For the second one, I trimmed out the trees and embossed the oval with Darice Snowflake Background (a surprise gift - thank you, Lisa - it's exactly what I wanted!). I stamped a sentiment from Newton's Nook in teal and added some Memory Box Twilight Snowflakes (these are new too) cut from white glitter paper.  To finish off the card, I adhered three sequins.
