One More Sympathy

Hello, everyone, I'm back again.  Here's one last sympathy card I made for my parents' stash and just realized that I had not posted it on my blog. This card features a freebie image from Beccy's Place.  The sentiment is a freebie from Create with TLC.   I added a torn page out of an old dictionary that I picked up at the thrift store.

I would like to enter the following challenges:
  1. 613 Avenue Create Anything Goes (I didn't use optional twist) 3E #3
  2. Beccy's Place Use Beccy's Place image UE
  3. Country View Monochromatic UE
  4. Crafty Cardmakers Black and White UE C15
  5. Crafty Catz Monochrome 1E
  6. DRS Designs So Sorry UE
  7. Eureka Stamps Anything Goes 3E #2
  8. Izazovi i slatkisi Challenges and Candies Monochrome 3E #2
  9. Let's Craft and Create Make It Masculine (I think this is more of a masculine card because of the colours and the image) UE
  10. MFP Speedy TV Use Newspaper or Page from a Book 5E #2
  11. Milk Coffee Monochrome 3E #2
  12. Oldie but a Goodie Recycle (I recycled a torn page from an old dictionary from the thrift store.  My other old item is the wood-mount sentiment stamp - I've had this for over 8 years) 3E #3
  13. One Stitch at a Time White + one other colour (I went with black) 3E #2
  14. Through the Craftroom Door Always Anything Goes 2E #2
  15. Word Art Wednesday Anything Goes with Uplifting Sentiment 5E #3

Thank you for looking at my card - I look forward to reading your comments.  Wishing you a joyful day!

They are always such difficult card to make Kitty but I think theme images work well with trees being a symbol of strength. Plus I am a self confessed treeaholic with more tree stamps than I care to admit.

Like how the trees look with the background & forefront. The dictionary page is a creative touch. I went to Half Price books to buy a dictionary to use for this sort of purpose only to find that the prices on the dictionaries were high. Guess they must know people are wanting to craft with them since they are out of date. Thank you for entering OSAAT Ch197 White + 1.

Making sympathy cards is always a labor of love for me. The simplicity of your design is balanced by the bold image of the trees. Very pretty card!

Kitty, the love and strength in this card is so very supportive and, through the beauty of your creative talents you have given your parents the very special gift of your support in difficult times.

For someone who sparkles through creating beautiful cards you truly have shown the depth of your inner empathy in this card and a previous one I've just seen. In using a forest of trees and the sentiment 'deepest' sympathy the support for those experiencing loss will gain strength from this card.

Thank you for sharing this lovely card in our challenge this week. Ingrid xx ( OSAAT Team )

Hi Kitty its always hard making this type of card and i always find it hard making one but this is simple and to the point...different shades of black and grey give the somberness of the time and trees to me mean strength and endurance and that you can weather anything in life so long as you are well rooted....even though this may be a sympathy card i like it very much and i think it will give strength and peace at a difficult time....thanks for entering our challenge this week Anita xx (OSAAT DT)
