Kitty Sending Warm Wishes

Hello, everyone!  Today I am sharing a kitty Christmas card using stamps from Sugar Pea Designs.

I stamped and coloured the kitty from Sugar Pea Designs - Smitten Kitten and fussy-cut so I could pop him up on foam tape. I stamped the cushion on glitter paper (DCWV) and fussy-cut, also popped up on foam tape. The sentiment is from Sugar Pea Designs - Sweet Treats Christmas. My card was inspired by the Mix It Up Challenge 6 sketch over at Sweet Pea Designs:

Underwater Scene 2

Hi, everyone!  Before I share my card, I would like to welcome my newest follower - Janet McLaughlin - thank you for joining me!

Today I made another underwater scene using adorable sea creatures from Your Next Stamp - Sea Creatures Set Two. I coloured them with Bic Mark-its and then die-cut with the coordinating dies.  Check out the cool background!  Colouring pages are all the rage now and I just won this one from Digistamps4Joy (thank you, Margy!). It's called Underwater Fantasy. This will be a lot of fun to colour but in the meantime it makes a great background! I resized it to fit my card and then die-cut with Gina Marie Designs Stitched Rectangles.

The sentiment is from Your Next Stamp - Woodland Cuties.  I heat-embossed it in white on a black scrap, die-cut it with Memory Box Pinpoint Rectangle Layers, and popped it up with foam tape.

I was inspired by the sketch at Your Next Stamp Challenge 44:

I adhered the cute sea creatures and then finished off the card with a number of sequins from my stash to mimic the sketch.

Underwater Scene

Hello, everyone!  Today I've made an underwater scene using sea creatures from Your Next Stamp!  I coloured the turtle from Sea Creatures Set One and the fish and starfish from Sea Creatures Set Two with Bic Mark-its and then cut with the coordinating dies.

My card began with an underwater background using Zig watercolour markers (Persian Green, Turquoise Green, Green, and Cobalt Blue). I enjoy making these backgrounds - it's very relaxing - and I like to make each one different.  Here are two previous variations I made:  shark card / mermaid card.  Then I die-cut the background with Avery Elle Wonky Stitches.

I was inspired by the sketch at Your Next Stamp Challenge 44:

YNSSketch44

I heat-embossed a sentiment from Your Next Stamp - Oh, Deer! in white and die-cut with the banner from Avery Elle Wonky Stitches.  I shaped the sentiment to fit the banner.  To mimic the sketch, I adhered some rings from Memory Box Loopy Rings - I think they look like bubbles! To finish off the card, I stamped some bubbles and fish (Newton's Nook) in black and added a number of clear sequins from my stash.

Daisy Cat

Hello, everyone!  I'm back again today!  This time I'm sharing an embellished kitty card!  This image is a freebie from Ike at SUYP Cats Only Challenge called Daisy Cat, and it was a lot of fun to colour! For the flowers, I used Bic Mark-its, and for the kitty and sky, I coloured with Prismacolor pencils. I also added yellow Stickles to the flower centres.

Here are the other products used:
  • Sentiment stamp:  Scrappy Moms Stamps - Little Critters clear stamps
  • Dies:  Doily (Maya Road Vintage Doilies), leaves (Cheery Lynn Ivy Strip and Flourish Leaf Strip), birdhouse (Die-namites Birdhouse Branch), border (Cheery Lynn Sienna Double Edge Border), tag (MFT Stitched Traditional Tag Stax)
  • Patterned paper: Graphic 45 Raining Cats and Dogs
  • Accents:  Flowers, cat charm, 3-D butterfly stickers - from my stash; epoxy embellishment (I made this with a flower image from my stash)

Here's my inspiration for the colouring of the kitty!  It's Snowie!  She's posing with my coloured image!

Inspiration: Snowie

Kitty Gift Stack Tag

Hello, everyone!  Before I get started, I would like to welcome my newest follower - Kathy Schweinfurth - thank you for joining me! Today I'm sharing a tag! I stamped the cute kitty carrying a stack of gifts from The Cat's Pajamas called The New Nice. I coloured it with Prismacolor pencils, added dots and stripes with a white gel pen, and then fussy-cut.

I die cut two patterned papers from BoBunny's Rejoice Collection (leftover scraps) with MFT Die-Namics Stitched Traditional Tags. I used Simon Says Stamps Stitched Rectangles to make the shaker frame. Inside the shaker I added red and green sequins and red and green stars. On the front I affixed the kitty image, strips of tiny clear gems around the frame, and some red and green stars. I added a die-cut circle to the top of the tag (Nellie's Multiframe Circles) so I could tie some red ribbon and white eyelash ribbon.

Snow Wonderful Penguin Shaker 2

Hi, everybody! I've made another shaker card with clear stamps from Pink and Main

I stamped the penguins from Pink and Main - Snow Globe in a row and then die-cut a circle (My Creative Time Bunch of Fun Circles) for the shaker window. I stamped the sentiment from Pink and Main - Snow Sweet (this stamp set is no longer available) and then did some partial embossing with Taylored Expressions Winter Flurry.  I adhered two thin strips of green glitter cardstock (Colorbok) and some clear sequins from my stash.  I stamped a different penguin from Pink and Main - Snow Globe, coloured him with Bic Mark-its, and adhered to the shaker window.  The shaker bits are tiny clear sequins from my stash.

Hydrangea - Colouring on Kraft

Hello, everyone!  I have been colouring on kraft again!  No kitties today!  Back in May, I won this gorgeous clear stamp from Kennedy Grace Creations called Beautiful Bloom - Hydrangea (thank you, Michelle!).  I stamped it with Memento Grape Jelly and Bamboo Leaves inks and then coloured it with Prismacolor pencils. For something different, I outlined it with white pencil and then added tiny gems to the centre of the blooms.

I wanted some ink splatters but I was afraid to mess up my colouring so I used just the edge of a Mini Splatter stamp from Your Next Stamp, inked with Hero Arts Unicorn - I like how it turned out!  I added some sequins from Kennedy Grace Creations - the purple and green from Lilac Garden and the clear from Isabella's Dream.

The die-cut butterfly is Poppystamps Devyn Butterfly Trio. I left the die-cut intact and added some tiny sequins from my stash to the butterfly's body.

Here are the other items used:
  • Sentiment stamp:  Simon Says Stamp Thanks, stamped in Memento Gape Jelly
  • Cardstock:  Neenah Desert Storm
  • Glitter cardstock: Colorbok
  • Twine:  Dollarama

I started by stamping a background with the snowflakes from Snow Sweet (looks like this stamp set is no longer available) using Simon Says Stamp Blue Jay, Teeny Bikini, Spring Rain, Hot Mama, and Jelly Bean ink.

I die-cut the stamped panel with Memory Box Cross-Stitched Rectangles and then die-cut a snowflake-shaped shaker window using Lawn Fawn Stitched Snowflake.  I filled the shaker with lots of colourful sequins from my stash!

The penguin and sentiment are from Pink and Main - Snow Globe and I coloured the penguin with Bic Mark-its.

Becca's 30th Birthday Bash

Hello, everyone!  I'm back again today! This time I would like to share a card I made for Becca's 30th Birthday Bash!  I was inspired by Becca's mood board:

I was also inspired by two of Becca's prompts:
  • A bright bold explosion of colors
  • Artsy fartsy experimentation

Here's my card, something very different for me!  Yes, it's a cat, but my first colourful cat!

I started by creating a watercolour background using Zig markers:  Pink, Light Pink, Light Violet, English Lavender, Haze Blue, Light Blue, and Cobalt Blue. I recently won this gorgeous kitty from Karleigh Sue Digis called El Gato Dia De Los Muertos (thank you!). I thought it was perfect, not only for Becca's card but also for Kathy Racoosin's 30-day Colouring Challenge at The Daily Marker (I'm 19 for 19!).

We were at Walmart the other day and Brian bought me some new markers! They are Bic Mark-its! Yes, they are children's markers, but I love them!  They are alcohol markers with a very limited colour palette but so fun to colour with!  I really enjoyed colouring this kitty!

I decided to make this a shaker card, perfect for the challenge at Pink and Main:

Here are the other products used on my card:

  • Sentiment stamp: Clearly Besotted Furry Friends (heat embossed in white)
  • Die:  Gina Marie Designs Scalloped Stitched Frame
  • Accents:  Sequins, butterfly sequins, gems - all from my stash

Thank you for looking at my card - I hope you like it, Becca!  Wishing everyone a joyful day!

Bunny Tea Time ATC

Hello, everyone!  Today I'm sharing an ATC - this is 2.5 x 3.5 inches in size. I used the adorable Memory Box Bunny Tea Time clear stamps and coloured them with Zig markers.  I added clear Wink of Stella to the crown and the hearts on the cup for some sparkle.  I die-cut them with Memory Box Bunny Tea Time coordinating dies - the bunny and tea cup are separate but I put the bunny in the cup just for fun!

I made a watercolour background with Distress Inks (Wilted Violet and Twisted Citron) using the smooshing technique, and then cut it into sections according to the sketch at Outside the Box:

Sketch

I mounted the watercolour pieces on purple cardstock, which I die-cut with Memory Box Pinpoint Rectangle Layers - the fourth die is the perfect size for an ATC!  I mounted the bunny with foam tape on a piece of vellum (die-cut into an oval with Nellie's Multiframe Ovals) and mounted on the ATC. The sentiment is from the same stamp set and I stamped it vertically. Lastly I added some flower cup sequins.

One-layer Card / Colouring on Kraft

Hello, everyone!  Today I'm sharing something different! I've coloured on kraft! And not only that but I've challenged myself to make a one-layer card!  These are tough (for me)!

According to One-Layer Simplicity, a one-layer card is defined as a single layer of cardstock folded in half. No other layers of paper allowed, and embellishments are to be kept to a minimum. With this in mind, I searched for inspiration and fell in love with a one-layer card by Kristina Werner - so I CASE'd it!

I recently won some adorable images from Sami Stamps (thank you, Sami) and I couldn't wait to get this one coloured! She's called Curious Snowflake Kitten and I used my Prismacolor pencils to colour her like our Snowie. Here are the other products used:
  • Die: Nellie's Multiframe Circle (for masking)
  • Stencil:  Hot Off the Press Snowfall
  • Ink: Mermaid Lagoon Distress Ink
  • Stamps:  Sentiment (Sugar Pea Designs Smitten Kittten), hearts (Newton's Nook Frozen Friends)
  • Cardstock:  Neenah Desert Storm
  • Accents:  White gel pen for faux stitching, sequins from my stash

Celebrate with Barbecue!

Hello, everyone!  I'm back again today with another card! This one has no stamping or colouring, just die-cuts and stickers! Something a little different! I created a little barbecue scene, and of course there's a kitty!

Here are the products I used on my card:

  • Dies: Lawn Fawn Meadow Borders (grass and butterflies), Die-Versions Express Banners - Celebrate
  • Stickers: Sandy Lion Essentials - these came in a grab bag of crafty goodies I found at the second-hand store and they were brand new!

Mermaid Shaker

Hello, everyone!  Before I get started, I would like to welcome my newest follower - CraftinGranny - thank you for joining me! Today I'm sharing a mermaid shaker card! This adorable Mermaid is the July challenge image at Gerda Steiner Designs.

I coloured the image with Prismacolor pencils and then I fussy-cut and added clear Wink of Stella to her mermaid tail, bikini top, starfish, and fish. It doesn't show up in the photos, but it's quite sparkly! The original image had just one fish but I added a couple extras. It also had a sandy ocean bottom and some seaweed but I didn't use them since the shaker bits would cover them. I doodled some scales on her mermaid tail.

My card began with an underwater background using watercolour markers. I used only two colours this time: Persian Green and Turquoise Green. I wanted to make it different than the backgrounds I made for my shark shaker card and tag, which were blue.  I stamped a few background fish (Newton's Nook - Shark Bites) and bubbles (See-D's Beach Collection), adding white gel pen to the bubbles. For the shaker bits, I used lots of sequins from my stash.

The sentiment stamp is from Newton's Nook - Newton's Summer Vacation, and I heat-embossed it in white on a black scrap.  The scalloped stitched frame die is from Gina Marie Designs.

Hummingbird Photos

Hello, everyone!  I wanted to share some photos of our hummingbirds!  We have quite a few this year, still not as many as last year, but they are such a joy to watch!  We seem to have more females and just one male that we can see. He likes to guard the feeders and chase away the other birds! We're pretty sure he's the same male that was here last year.  Brian captured some great shots! Enjoy!

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend!
