From Meow to You Tag

Hello, everyone!  Today I'm sharing a heart-shaped tag!

The kitty on this tag is from Newton's Nook Sending Hugs.  I masked the kitty's arms and stamped the heart so it would look like he's holding it.  I coloured the image with markers and fussy-cut.  I attempted to colour him like our Kiwi, and I also added Spectrum Noir sparkle to the heart.  Here's a close-up:

I stamped the sentiment from Newton's Nook Cattitude on a stitched speech bubble, which is from Lawn Fawn Stitched Bubble Backdrop Die.  I fussy-cut just this speech bubble, and I'm saving the rest for other projects.

This tag began with the die-cut red heart (Crafter's Companion Die'sire - Heart Doilies) and then I layered two stitched nesting hearts (Gina Marie Designs), one in patterned paper, and one in pink cardstock.  The patterned paper is Martha Stewart Love Notes Mat Pad.  On the pink heart, I layered Simon Says Stamp Stacked Hearts, die-cut from pink glitter cardstock and trimmed to fit the pink heart.  The faux postage stamp was fussy-cut from the Martha Stewart paper pad.  For embellishemtns, I adhered three red heart gems.  Since this is a tag, I added a white eyelet and some crinkle ribbon (DL.ART Christmas Red).

This tag is going to Brian from our kitty Kiwi so I finished the back of the tag with a die-cut pink heart and a die-cut heart photo of Kiwi - he's so cute!  I used the same Gina Marie dies as mentioned above.

Penguin Greetings

Hi, everybody!  I'm starting early on my winter holiday cards!  I plan to make at least two a month and hopefully more!  Fortunately I have Rudolph DayABC Christmas, and Christmas Kickstart every month to keep me on track!

Today's card features a cute penguin, marker colouring, ink blending, a gorgeous die, and the eclipse technique!

In case you haven't heard, Scribbles Designs is celebrating their 7th birthday!  Congratulations to Sandy and her team!  They are having a challenge, flash freebies, and some fun games, so I wanted to join in!  I decided to go with a penguin-themed card - this little guy is Scribbles Designs Brrrnard with Star and he is also part of this set: Scribbles Designs Three B's Trio.  I coloured him with my markers, added Star Dust Stickles to his pompom, and fussy-cut so I could pop him up on foam tape.

I made the background by ink blending Distress Oxides (Scattered Straw, Tattered Rose, and Abandoned Coral) and then splattered some water to activate the Oxides. I die-cut the inked panel with a stitched rectangle (Gina Marie Designs) and then die-cut with STAMPlorations Holiday Words Plate Die - CUTplorations. I used the same die again on white craft foam so I could add dimension under the words for the eclipse technique (here's a video showing how to do this technique).  As for all the little bits and pieces that aren't part of the words, I paper-pieced them in place using the die as a guide. To finish off the card, I adhered a number of red and white snowflake sequins. This card was fun to make and I love how it turned out!

I would like to support the following 8 challenges:

You Are Loved

Hello, everyone! I made another card for the STAMPlorations Hey Love Hop and Linky! Have you joined the fun yet? STAMPlorations is offering two free colouring sheets, and I always enjoy this type of thing. You will remember I coloured the first one here, and today I'm sharing the other one.

The free STAMPlorations Love Doodled A2 Card Front colouring sheet can be found here (scroll to the bottom of the post). I coloured the flowers and leaves with markers and inked Scattered Straw Distress Oxide around the text portion.  Using Simon Says Stamp Tiny Spaced Hearts Stencil, I sponged Festive Berries Distress Oxide though the stencil.  For the You Are Loved words, I filled them with Nuvo Jewel Drops Rosewater, which dried to a crackly finish.  Next I added some white paint splatters with Picket Fence Distress Paint.  I layered the completed colouring page on a green die-cut scalloped stitched rectangle (Waltzingmouse Stamps) and then on a white card base.  This card will be going to my Mom!  No worries; she doesn't read my blog!

I would like to support the following challenges: A Perfect Time to Craft AG UE; Crafty Catz 490 AG Optional Flower Power 1/3; Colour Crazy AG Colouring 2/2; Country View Love UE; Creative Fingers 178 AG 1/3; Creative Moments 183 AG No Twist 2/3; DL.ART January Linky UE 1/d; Kat Scrappiness No Designer Paper UE; Lil Patch of Crafty Friends AG 1/3; Penny's Paper-crafty 463 AG 2/3; Polkadoodles AG 1/3; STAMPlorations Hey Love Hop and Linky 2/5; STAMPlorations Theme and Photo Prompt January (I was inspired by the stamps and splatters theme) 2/6; STAMPlorations January Stencil AG w Stencil UE; STAMPlorations Neverending AG STAMPlorations UE; The Outlawz Saturday Paper A La Mode Things that Make You Happy (flowers, colouring, inking) UE; Wednesday's Creative Inspirations Something New or Something Old (new Colouring Sheet, old cutting die) UE; Word Art Wednesday 422-423 AG w Uplifting Sentiment 3/5 wk2

I'd Spend Nine Lives with You

Hi, everybody!  There's a Hey Love Hop and Linky happening over at STAMPlorations, and I wanted to join the fun!  There are two free colouring sheets, and I've coloured one of them for my card today!  This card will be given to Brian from our cat Snowie!

The free Love Doodled Card Front colouring sheet can be found here (scroll to the bottom of the post). I coloured it with markers. I wanted to personalize it so I stamped a little cat (STAMPlorations Pets clear stamps) that looks like our Snowie. I coloured her with my markers and then fussy-cut so I could pop her up on foam tape. On the heart I stamped a sentiment from my stash and then layered the colouring sheet on coordinating cardstock.  Lastly I adhered three small punched hearts.

I would like to support the following challenges: A Perfect Time to Craft AG UE; Colour Crazy AG Colouring 1/2; Country View Love UE; Craft Stamper Take it Make it January 3/3; Creative Moments 183 AG No Twist 1/3; DL.ART January Linky UE 1/d; Incy Wincy AG 5/5; Jan's Digi Stamps 6 AG 5/5; Kat Scrappiness No Designer Paper UE; Mod Squad Get Your Animal Stamps Inky 1/3; Penny's Paper-crafty 463 AG 1/3; Show us Your Pussycats Furrything Goes UE; Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Besotted with our Pets 1/5; STAMPlorations Hey Love Hop and Linky 1/5; STAMPlorations Theme and Photo Prompt January (I was inspired by the photo) 1/6; STAMPlorations Neverending AG STAMPlorations UE; The Artistic Stamper AG 3/3; The House That Stamps Built Repeat Impressions Anything Goes Challenge ~ J2220; The Outlawz Festive Friday AG (Valentine) UE; Through the Craft Room Door AG 2/2;  Wednesday's Creative Inspirations Something New or Something Old (new Colouring Sheet, old cat stamp) UE; Word Art Wednesday 422-423 AG w Uplifting Sentiment 2/5 wk2

Masculine Birthday Card

Hello, everyone!  Before I get started, I would like to welcome my newest follower - Florence Bernier - thank you for joining me!  If you could please leave a comment with a link to your blog, I will hop over and follow you too!

Today I'm sharing a card I made for a male family member on his 50th birthday. I find it a challenge to make cards for guys, but I thought the beer stein was a good image as he does enjoy the occasional beer.

The image is Doctor Digi's House of Stamps - Pint (Colour) and I fussy-cut so I could pop it up on foam tape.  The patterned paper is from Basic Grey, and behind the beer stein is a square of brown jute.  I stamped the "Finest Quality" circle (Darcie's), punched a circle shape, and then separately stamped the 50 (number stamps from dollar store).

I was inspired by the sketch at Crafting Vicky!  She's reviving her blog with a new sketch challenge so I hope you'll head over and check it out.  Crafting Vicky was the very first blog I followed way-back-when I first started blogging in 2013.   Now she creates YouTube videos, so here is a link to her channel.  I enjoy sketches so I wanted to join in!

A Frosty Hello

For my Tuesday Morning Sketches DT card, see here.

Hi, everyone! This is my third post today, so please scroll back to see my two other cards! Again I was inspired by the Recipe challenge over at Mod Squad. They would like to see a stamp, a stencil, and an interactive card.  When I make interactive cards, I love to make shakers!

For the front panel, I applied Tumbled Glass Distress Ink through Simon Says Stamp Falling Snow Stencil, die-cut a large snowflake (Stampendous Snowflake Die Set), and then stamped the sentiment from STAMPlorations Winter Chill.  The cute snowman is from the same stamp set (STAMPlorations Winter Chill) and I coloured him with markers.  I did some ink blending around the snowman with Tumbled Glass Distress Ink and adhered a few snowflake sequins so they would not shake around.  For the shaker bits I used crystal clear flat sequins and a few tiny white snowflake sequins.  I finished off the card by adhering some teal sequins.

I would also like to support the following challenges: 52 Weeks to Christmas 5th Amniversary Card with 5 Things (5 teal snowflake sequins); ABC Christmas A for Anything Goes Christmas UE: A Perfect Time to Craft AG UE; Craft Stamper Take it Make it January 2/3; Crafty Friends AG 3/3; Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas AG Optional Use a Sentiment UE: Creatalicious AG Optional Add a Snowflake 1/3; Dare 2B Artzy Winter 3/3; Dragonfly Dreams AG UE; Incy Wincy AG 3/5; Jan's Digi Stamps 6 AG 3/5; Kat Scrappiness No Designer Paper UE; Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Use a Stencil 2/5; STAMPlorations January Stencil AG w Stencil UE; STAMPlorations January CAS AG CAS Optional Twist Anything Metallic (snowflake sequins) 1/3; STAMPlorations Neverending AG STAMPlorations UE; The Artistic Stamper AG 2/3; The House That Stamps Built Repeat Impressions DCC J120 ~ Stamp A Childhood Memory (we loved building snowmen); The Outlawz Festive Friday Christmas UE; Word Art Wednesday 422-423 AG w Uplifting Sentiment 5/5 wk1

Hi, everyone!  This is my second post today, and this time I'm sharing a shaker card!  Before I get started, I would like to welcome my newest follower - Jennifer Swartz - thank you for joining me!  If you could please leave a comment with a link to your blog, I will hop over and follow you too!

My shaker card was inspired by the Recipe challenge over at Mod Squad. They would like us to use a stamp, a stencil, and to make it interactive, and I've done it all!

The beautiful fish images are a new release from Beccy's Place called Fantail Goldfish, and I fell in love as soon as I saw them!  I  went with the precoloured version, fussy-cut, and applied Spectrum Noir Clear Sparkle over the fins and tails.  On the eyes, I added Glossy Accents and then a dot with a black Glaze pen.

My card started with the background, which I made with various shades of blue Distress Inks.  I applied a darker blue Distress Ink using Simon Says Stamp Waves Stencil to create a look of movement in the water. Next I stamped three sizes of coral (Designs by Ryn Coral Set rubber stamps), two kinds of bubbles (Newton's Nook Tranquil Tides clear stamps), and some tiny fish (Newton's Nook Shark Bites clear stamps).  The die-cut frame is from Gina Marie Designs Scalloped Stitched Frame Set, and I created the punny sentiment in Word.  For the shaker bits, I used lots of sequins in crystal clear and various shades of teal, and adhered three to the outside of the acetate.

I would also like to support the following challenges: 2 Crafty Critter Crazies AG w Critter 5/5; A Perfect Time to Craft AG UE; Arty Divas 13 AG 5/5; Beccy's Place January AG UE; Craft Stamper Take it Make it January 1/3; Crafty Catz 489 AG Optional Twist Funny 3/3; Crafty Friends AG 2/3; Cute Card Thursday What's New? TMS 538 - Tuesday Morning Sketches

Hello, everybody!  It's Tuesday and that means we have another sketch for you at Tuesday Morning Sketches!  We continue the month of January with the Design Team choosing their favourite sketches from last year, and this week is my pick!  I've only been with the team since November so I did not have the pleasure of playing with this sketch the first time around.  It's TMS 515 designed by Melissa, and I hope you'll enjoy it as much as I did!

The gorgeous Fuchsias are from Beccy's Place, and the image is a freebie this month (thank you, Beccy!).  I opted for the pre-coloured version and then die-cut with Spellbinders Floral Ovals.  The Hummingbird is from Fred She Said and so are the green and purple papers (Purple Pansies Set).  I die-cut and layered the papers according to the sketch, and then I fussy-cut the pre-coloured hummingbird so I could pop it up with foam tape. The red strip is actually glitter paper, but it doesn't look very sparkly in the photo.  The stitched rectangle dies are from Gina Marie Designs, and the sentiment stamp is from Clearly Besotted.  I finished off the card by adhering three red sequins.

Check out our Sketch 515 for TMS 538 - I hope it gets your crafty mojo going!   I'm looking forward to seeing what you make!

Saddle Up and Celebrate

Hello, everybody!  I'm back!  Again I have been inspired by the 10th Birthday Bash at Bugaboo's Catch the Bug Challenge Blog.  The theme is Down on the Farm, and my card was inspired by Day 6 - Colour Challenge.

This fun image is Bugaboo's Make it Snappy - Hey There, and I coloured him with my markers.  This image was a Friday Freebie at Bugaboo on January 10 - thank you!  Actually, the horse was inside a photo frame, but I fussy-cut so I could add just the horse to my farm scene.  Dies used to make the scene were MFT Die-namics Grassy Hills, Cottage Cutz Farm Border, and Joy!Crafts Sun.  The sky was made with Distress Oxides a while back.  The fun sentiment is from Newton's Nook - Newton Rides West.

I would also like to support the following challenges: 2 Crafty Critter Crazies AG w Critter 3/5; A Perfect Time to Craft AG UE; Ally's Angels AG 3/3; Arty Divas 13 AG 4/5; Cardz TV 106 AG 2/3; Crafty Catz 489 AG Optional Twist Funny 2/3; Creative Fingers AG 3/3; Cute Card Thursday What's New? It's your Birdday

Hi, everybody!  Today I'm sharing a card I made for the 10th Birthday Bash at Bugaboo's Catch the Bug Challenge Blog.  The theme is Down on the Farm and I was inspired by Day 1 - Farm Birthday Project.

The cute image is Bugaboo's Chick, and I coloured her with my markers and fussy-cut.  I adhered the chick to a farm scene background with foam tape.  The sentiment is made up of two sentiments:  "It's your Birdday" is from From the Heart Stamps (sadly this company is no longer in business), and "Shake a Tail Feather" is from Beccy's Place Poultry in Motion.  I printed them together on vellum and then die-cut with a Nellie's Multiframe Oval.  To adhere the sentiment, I used my new Xyron sticker maker so you can't see any adhesive behind the vellum.

I would also like to support the following challenges: 2 Crafty Critter Crazies AG w Critter 2/5; A Perfect Time to Craft AG UE; Arty Divas 13 AG 3/5; Cardz TV 106 AG 1/3; Crafty Catz 489 AG Optional Twist Funny 1/3; Cute Card Thursday What's New? Ewe Can Party Shaker Card

Hello, everyone!  There's a big birthday bash going on over at Bugaboo's Catch the Bug Challenge Blog in celebration of their 10th year!  The theme is Down on the Farm and I'm jumping on the party bandwagon for Day 5 - Make us Laugh.

I made a shaker card!  This fun image is Bugaboo's Ewe Rock. I coloured it with my markers and then fussy-cut the image, including the stars and music notes.  I added Glossy Accents to his sunglasses.

My card design was inspired by the January Card Sketch at Stick it Down:

I die-cut the star-shaped shaker frame by using two stitched star nesting dies. I filled the shaker window with tiny gold star sequins. The patterned paper is from Studio G (Michaels).  I created the punny sentiment in Word and then die-cut with a stitched banner.  Lastly, I adhered the stars and music notes that were part of the image.

I would also like to support the following challenges: 2 Crafty Critter Crazies AG w Critter 1/5; A Perfect Time to Craft AG UE; Ally's Angels AG 2/3; Arty Divas 13 AG 2/5; Crafty Creations 405 AG 2/2; Crafty Hazelnut's Patterned Paper January UE; Creative Fingers AG 2/3; Cute Card Thursday Embellish UE; DL.ART January Linky UE 1/d; Dragonfly Dreams AG 2/3; Ellibelle's Crafty Wednesday New Goodies or Old Favourites (everything used is several years old) 3/3; Incy Wincy AG 3/5; Jan's Digi Stamps AG 1/5; Lil Patch of Crafty Friends Always AG 2/3; The Corrosive AG 2/3; The Creative Crafters Always AG 1/3; The Outlawz Saturday Paper A La Mode Shaker Cards UE; Through the Craft Room Door AG 2/2; Wednesday's Creative Inspirations Something New or Something Old (everything used is several years old) UE

25th Anniversary Pop-up Box

Hello, everybody! Today I'm sharing a pop-up box card that I made for a couple celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary. I went with various shades of silver, including foil, glitter, quicksilver, and matte. I am thrilled with how it turned out, and so was the couple who received the card!

I used various flower, leaf, grass, butterfly, and number dies, along with some pre-made flowers, butterfly stickers, and clear gems.  The box die is from Pink and Main, and the celebrate word is part of the set.

The patterned paper is from Colorbok.  Below is how the card looks folded, and it fits into an A2 envelope for mailing.

There are a number of challenges for new items - my new item is the pre-made silver flowers, Recollections brand - I found them at a thrift store.  They were new in the package, unused, and they coordinated perfectly!

Guest Designer - CAS on Friday

Hello, everyone!  I'm excited to announce that I am a Guest Designer at CAS on Friday for Challenge 171.  Our theme this fortnight is Winter.  I hope you'll head over and check out all the CAS winter inspiration and then join our challenge!

You probably already know that CAS stands for Clean and Simple, and it also means:
  • Lots of open space;
  • Limited layers and embellishments;
  • Quick and easy to create; and
  • Keep it simple.
CAS on Sunday

For my card, I die-cut a snowflake semi-circle from a white panel and adhered it to a blue alcohol ink background that I made some time ago.  I stamped the sentiment and that's it!

I decided to make a second card but this time used a double-stitched rectangle die, but it's still a CAS card.

Here are both cards together.  I hope you'll be inspired to join our challenge at CAS on Friday!  You can find the rules for the challenge here
