Skatin' by to say Hi

Hello, everybody!  Happy New Year!  Before I share my card, I would like to welcome a new follower - Lynne Everett - thank you for joining me!  If you could please leave a comment with a link to your blog, then I can hop over and follow you too!

Yesterday I started playing along in the Holiday Critters Chaos Challenge over at Bugaboo Stamps - Catch the Bug Challenge Blog, and today I was able to make one more card!  I was inspired by Holiday Chaos Day 6 - Colour Combo.

This adorable image is Bugaboo Stamps - Little Penguin Skate.  I did some colouring and doodling with black and white markers, and added a little pink to his cheek.  I fussy-cut the image so I could pop him up on foam tape. To make the background, I cut strips of coloured cardstock, adhered them to a black panel, and then embossed with Darice Snowflake Background. The sentiment is a clear stamp and I cut it into a banner shape.  Here's the colour inspiration graphic:

Gingerbread Happy Holidays

I'm back!  Yes, it's me again!  I'm trying to get my cards posted by the end of today, so I may be back with more if I have time.

On this card, I've used my all-time favourite set of Beccy's Place called Gingerbread! This little guy was a leftover from my cardmaking spree in November.  He is the precoloured version and was fussy-cut so I could pop him up on foam tape. I added Nuvo Crystal Drops Simply White for the icing on his head and extremities and added Nuvo Jewel Drops Rosewater on his eyes and buttons. I also added a tiny die-cut bowtie (Your Next Stamp). The background paper and Joyeux sentiment are from Gecko Galz.  The Happy Holidays sentiment and landscape border were unused leftovers from other cards.

Set of 4 Tags - Warm Winter Wishes

Hi, everyone!  I'm back again!  This time I'm sharing a set of tags!  I'm playing along in the Holiday Critters Chaos Challenge over at Bugaboo Stamps - Catch the Bug Challenge Blog!   I was inspired by Holiday Chaos Day 3 - Anything but a Card with Holiday Critter and Glitter.

The image is Snowflake Reindeer Silhouette from Bugaboo Stamps, and I printed it in four different colours and fussy-cut.  I die-cut four white tags, stamped a sentiment (MFT Stamps) in a coordinating ink colour, and embossed with Die'sire Embossalicious Let it Snow.  I added a thin strip of glitter cardstock, a punched snowflake in the same glitter cardstock, and ribbon in coordinating colours.

May Your Days be Merry and Bright

Hi, everybody!  I'm playing along in the Holiday Critters Chaos Challenge over at Bugaboo Stamps - Catch the Bug Challenge Blog!   I was inspired by Holiday Chaos Day 4 - Tick Tac Toe - Pick Three In a Row, and I went with Glitter, Free, and Kraft.

This adorable image is Christmas Hedgie from Bugaboo Stamps, and I went with the precoloured version and fussy-cut so I could pop him up on foam tape.  I added Stardust Stickles glitter on his hat pompom and trim.  I stamped two rubber stamps for the sentiment.  The kraft cardstock is embossed with Darice Snowflake Background.  I adhered two strips of washi tape (one is red glitter) and some gold holly leaves with three red gems.

My card design was inspired by Bugaboo Stamps - Stella Says Sketch Challenge 721:

Elf and Rudolph

Hello, everyone!  I saw the fun Holiday Critters Chaos Challenge over at Bugaboo Stamps - Catch the Bug Challenge Blog and wanted to play along!  I don't know if I'll be able to play in all seven challenges but I'll see what I can do!  This card was inspired by Holiday Chaos Day 1 - Create a Project using a Holiday Critter and Snow.

This adorable image is Elf Brat and Rudolph from Bugaboo Stamps.  I went with the precoloured image and printed it on white glitter cardstock to fit an A2 size card.  I created a punny sentiment with my Dymo Label Maker and popped it up on foam tape.  I added Glossy Accents to the ornaments, bells, belt buckle, and Rudolph's nose.  Below is another photo below so you can see the sparkle of the cardstock, as well as the Glossy Accents.

All Snippets / Leftovers

Hi, everybody!  Today I'm sharing a card I made using all snippets/leftovers!  Most of the items on my card were in my pile of unused leftovers from the cards I made in November/ December.  However, the cute stamped reindeer faux postage arrived in the mail!  It was adhered on the outside of an envelope which contained a card from a blog friend (thank you, Bunny!).  I recognized it as a stamp from Simon Says Stamp, and I quickly cut it from the envelope so I could re-use it!  The poinsettia circle postage stamp was on the same envelope!   Everything else was in my pile of leftovers, and it felt great to use these items!

Tuesday Morning Sketches - TMS 535 - Anything Goes

Hello, everybody!  Happy Holidays!  We have a fun challenge for you at Tuesday Morning Sketches!  There's no sketch this time... it's our Annual Anything Goes Challenge and it will run until January 5, 2020, so you have plenty of time to join in!  My teammates have made all kinds of fun projects, so please head over and check them out!

I made an easel card using Stephanie Barnard Sizzix Framelits Stand-ups die set!  I recently won a prize from Drawn by Krista and I chose Meet Me Under the Mistletoe Colour Clipart set (thank you!). I adore this sweet gingerbread couple - they make me smile!  The word art, heart candy, and holly are all from the same set, which I printed and fussy-cut.

I die-cut a circle from white glitter cardstock (a gift from Debi, thank you!).  The plaid papers were a freebie a few years ago from Linda's Digi Creations Faceboook Page (thank you!).

I added a few puffy stickers from Dollarama (gingerbread house and candy canes) and some tiny snowflake sequins.  The photo below shows the card when closed, and it fits easily into an A2 envelope for mailing.

I hope you'll be inspired to join our Annual Anything Goes Challenge at Tuesday Morning Sketches!  I'm looking forward to seeing what you make!

Tuesday Morning Sketches - TMS 534

Hello, everybody!  Are you looking for some inspiration for those last-minute holiday cards?  If so, we have a fun sketch for you at Tuesday Morning Sketches!  I think it's perfect for a holiday card, but it would work for any occasion. Please head over and check out the beautiful cards made by my teammates! I'm looking forward to seeing what you come up with!

I created this peaceful scene using Memory Box Country Church Frame die.  I cut it once in white and a second time in white glitter so I could paper-piece. I made the inky background with Distress Oxides on photo paper. I layered several blues and purples using the watercolour ink-smooshing technique and then dried in between each colour. It's best to work from lightest colour to darkest, but I didn't. When finished, it had a dull appearance but when wiped with a baby wipe, it became vibrant like you see here. I first saw this technique on a video here. It's one of my favourite techniques!  I added white dots to the sky with a paint marker to simulate snowflakes.

The sentiment die is from Recollections and I layered it twice.  I made a triple bow with white twine (American Crafts) and added a few evergreen branches in white (Martha Stewart punch).  The white panel is embossed with Die'sire Embossalicious Let it Snow.

Here's this week's sketch, designed by Debbie - Sketch #534. I hope you'll be inspired and join our challenge!

Snow Birds - Set of 4 Cards

Hello, everyone!  I recently won over at Artsystamper Digitals Challenge, and I chose a gorgeous set from TheArtsystamperShop called Snow Birds as my prize (thank you, Beverly)!  I fell in love with this set so I got to work right away!

All four images in the set are gorgeous, so I made a set of four cards!  I opted to use the pre-coloured images, and I added Frantage embossing powder to each image for a snowy look!

Card 1 - Chickadee

I die-cut the chickadee with a wonky stitched oval and then layered it on a die-cut lacy oval, which is popped up on foam tape.  The patterned paper is from BoBunny Woodland Winter Collection. The die-cut bow is Poppystamps Lovely Gift Bow, and I added a blue gem to the center.  The sentiment stamp is from Poppystamps You Melt My Heart. I fussy-cut the name of the bird and adhered it to the oval, and then finished off the card by adhering three blue snowflake sequins.  My card design was inspired by this sketch over at Sweet Sketch Wednesday:

Card 2 - Blue Jay

I die-cut the blue jay with a dotted square and layered it on a black square.  The die-cut bow is Poppystamps Prim and Proper Bow.  The blue panel is embossed with snowflakes and popped up on foam tape, and the white panel is embossed with evergreen boughs. I fussy-cut the name of the bird and adhered to the square.  I added a blue gem to the center of the blow and three black gems according to the sketch below.  I finished off the card by adhering three blue snowflake sequins. My card design was inspired by this sketch over at Sweet Sketch Wednesday:

Card 3 - Cardinal

I die-cut the cardinal with a framed square.  The patterned paper is from BoBunny Mistletoe Collection, and the green glitter cardstock is from Dollarama.  I fussy-cut the name of the bird and adhered it to the square, and added three red gems in the opposite corner. I finished off the card by adhering three green snowflake sequins.  My card design was inspired by Sketch Saturday 592 and I chose Sketch 228:

Card 4 - Bird Feeder

I die-cut the image with Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles - these rectangles are stitched inside and outside the cut line so I used partial die-cutting to achieve the size I wanted.  I layered the image onto green cardstock and popped it up with foam tape. The patterned paper is from BoBunny Mistletoe Collection, and the embossing folder is Couture Creations Sugarplum Ball.  The pine cone and pine needles are freebies over at the Artsystamper Art Group Facebook Group. I merged the images, fussy-cut, and adhered. I added Stardust Stickles to the snowy roof and edge of the bird feeder.   I stamped a sentiment from Your Next Stamp and finished off the card by adhering three green snowflake sequins.  My card design was inspired by the sketch over at Creative Sketchy Girls Challenge 42:

Here's the set of Snow Birds digitals from TheArtsystamperShop that I used.

Merry Kitty Ornament - TMS 532

Hello, everyone!  Before I get started, I would like to welcome two new followers - Donna Rinckel and Sally Bownes - thank you for joining me!

If you're looking for a fun sketch, we have one for you at Tuesday Morning Sketches!  I think it's perfect for a holiday card, but it would work for any occasion.  We have an awesome prize up for grabs too!  Head over and check out the beautiful inspiration by my team mates!  I'm looking forward to seeing what you come up with!

I stamped, coloured, and fussy-cut the kitty from Your Next Stamp Hello Winter (this kitty has a tiny snowflake on his tongue, so cute!).  I adhered him with foam tape inside the sparkly ornament and added a red bow (Poppystamps Prim and Proper Bow; circle dies from Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circles and My Creative Time Bunch of Fun Circles; red and green glitter cardstock from Dollarama).  I went with mitten-patterned paper for the background (Lawn Fawn Snow Day) and added a die-cut sentiment (Poppystamps Merry Ornament).  I finished off the card with three green snowflake sequins and added red gems on the bow and the ornament.

Here's this week's sketch, designed by Melissa - Sketch #532.  I hope you'll be inspired and join our challenge!

I finished the inside of the card with a sentiment from Your Next Stamp Hello Winter and some scraps of the patterned paper and red glitter cardstock.  I used my Tim Holtz Bow Punch and red sequin as well.
