Hedgie Hello (FTHS image)

Hello, everyone!  Today I'm participating in the Free Stamp of the Month challenge at From the Heart Stamps. This is a progressive challenge. Since I played along last month, I received the June digi for free. This little cutie is called Prickles Says Hello and I coloured him with Prismacolor pencils and added Glossy Accents on his glasses.

I die-cut the image using Clearly Besotted Rounded Tag and used the same die to cut some burlap to layer in behind and then tied them together with yellow ribbon. The aqua panel is embossed with Cuttlebug Charles and I added a thin snippet of brown cardstock and some polka-dot washi tape alongside.  To finish off the card, I added a number of sequins.

Vintage Kitty in Stocking

Hi, everyone!  Before I share today's card, I would like to announce that I am still waiting to hear from one of my candy winners.  Ema M, please contact me by June 29!

Well I mentioned yesterday about my goal of making two Christmas cards each month so here's my second one for June. Goal achieved - yay! This one features a vintage kitty in a stocking - you know I love kitties!  I upcycled the image from a card I received last year and fussy-cut all around it so I could pop it up with foam tape.

The musical panel with the decorative scalloped edge is from Recollections.  The sentiment is an acrylic sticker (Deja Views) - I added it vertically - I really like the vintage font used. The card base is dark brown, and the layered panel is kraft but I wanted to give it a more vintage look so I stamped a vintage Christmas image (Recollections) repeatedly in Simon Says Stamp khaki. Then I inked all around the edges with Vintage Photo Distress Ink.

Background panel

I added two strips of gold/red ribbon along the top and bottom edges and green ribbon and bow along the left edge.

Vintage Snowman

Hi, everyone!  Before I share my card, I would like to welcome my newest follower - bonniemarriott74 - so happy you joined me! Well, I've mentioned before that my goal is to make two Christmas cards each month so here's my first one for June.

This came together fairly quickly using bits and pieces from my stash. I used a ready-made card base but wanted to give it a more vintage look so I masked the scalloped edge and stamped a vintage Christmas image (Recollections) repeatedly in Simon Says Stamp khaki. Then I inked all around the edges with Vintage Photo Distress Ink.

The glittery vintage snowman, red-foil greeting and snowflake are from K and Company.  I added a tiny piece of lace at the bottom left corner, and some threaded sequins at the top. Here's a photo that shows more of the sparkle on the snowman.

I would like to join the following challenges:
  1. Christmas Cards All Year Round Snowmen UE
  2. Crafting by Designs Get Ready for Christmas 1/3
  3. Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas Challenge Merry and Bright UE
  4. Crimbo Crackers Vintage UE

Nuts About You (Poppystamps)

Hi, everyone!  Today I'm sharing a masculine card that I made for Brian.  He bought me some new crafty goodies for our anniversary in April and I'm finally getting around to using them. These clear stamps are from Poppystamps called Cover Squirrel, and there are also coordinating dies. Brian loves squirrels so I know he'll love this!

I wanted to do some watercolouring so I stamped the squirrels, leaves, acorns, and tree branch in Versafine Onyx Black on watercolour paper and then heat-embossed them with Ranger Clear embossing powder. I find watercolouring easier when the images are embossed. I'm not very good at watercolouring, so I stamped all of those leaves for practice! There is no die for the leaves so I hand-cut each one and affixed to the Cheery Lynn Birch Tree (I made it into an oak tree!).

For the sky, I used Poppystamps Delicate Cloud Border to make my own cloud template and then sponged Tumbled Glass Distress Ink. I use a cut-up kitchen sponge for my inking. For the hillside, I used Poppystamps Stitched Landscape and die-cut from three patterned papers (Doodlebug, Colorbok, and Momenta). The grass is Lawn Fawn Grassy Border. The squirrels are popped up with foam tape. The sentiment is from Newton's Nook Sweetheart Tails.

Smile... It's Your Birthday (Gerda Steiner image)

Hi, everyone!  Today I'm sharing a birthday card I made for the progressive challenge at Gerda Steiner Designs.  Since I played in Gerda's challenge last month, I received this month's image for free. Actually, we received two images this time - it's a 6-week challenge - and I chose the sweet Cheese Please Bunny.  I coloured the image with Prismacolor pencils and added a cute retro frame (American Girl Crafts).

I made a Distress Ink background to coordinate with the frame, using Cracked Pistachio and Picked Raspberry with the smooshing technique.  I die-cut the panel with Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles, mounted it on black cardstock, and then mounted it flush with the top left corner.  I added a Dymo label maker sentiment and stamped the birthday sentiment from Newton's Nook - Newton's Birthday Bash. To finish it off I added a number of black sequins.

I am also joining Kathy Racoosin's 30-Day Colouring Challenge at The Daily Marker

Neon Kitten

Hello, everyone!  Before I share my card, I would like to welcome my lovely new follower - Camille Short - so happy you joined me!

Well you all know I can't resist a kitty challenge, so I just had to make this card for the Cat challenge over at Cornish Heritage Farms!  I wish more blogs had Cat challenges!  Again today I was in the mood for neon colours - not sure why these colours have been calling my name lately, but I decided to go with it!

I used a cute Kitten digi from Cornish Heritage Farms, and I coloured just the eyes and ears, and then fussy-cut.  The green cardstock is die-cut with Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles, which I affixed to the plum panel.  I stamped the pawprints from Neat and Tangled "Meowwww" clear stamps diagonally across both colours.  The sentiment is from My Creative Time "You Had me at Meow," which I stamped on a coral hand-cut banner.  The three heart die-cuts are from MFT Die-namics Staggered Heart Border, and I'm joining the My Favorite Things - Summer School Lesson 2 - Focal Point.  Lastly, I added two pieces of washi tape and a yarn bow.

I would also like to support these fun challenges:  Beccy's Place June AG UE; Bunny Zoe's Furry Friends UE; Clique Kits June AG 3/3; Craft Your Passion AG 3/3; Creative Fingers AG 3/3; Dies R Us Flags and/or Banners 1/3; DL.ART June Linky AG 1/day; Inspiration Destination AG UE; Love to Scrap AG 2/3; Not Just Cards AG UE; Paperbabe Stamps AG UE; Pixie's Snippet Playground Neon cardstock left over from this card 2/3; Scrappy Moms Stamps Happy Birthday UE; Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Favourite Technique or Product (mine is cats!) 1/5; Sister Act (Cards Only) AG UE; STAMPlorations Stamps and Washi Tape 3/3;The Paper Girls Happy Birthday 2/3; Word Art Wednesday AG w Uplifting Sentiment 1/5
