The Cat's Meow

Hello, everyone.  I wanted to play along in the September FANtastic Linky Party at SK Digis by Sonia Kertznus - this will be my first time participating.  What got me excited about it this month is the freebie that Sonia is offering - its a cat - yay!  She's called Kitty Pickaboo, and she's a real cutie.  Here's the card I made.

I followed the sketch at Your Next Stamp (shown below) and used some digi paper from Trimgym's Digistamps, Paper, and Images.  I started with a white card base and added an embossed purple panel, onto which I layered two panels of Trimgym's beautiful striped paper.  I coloured Kitty Pickaboo with pencils and mounted on a green square.  I stamped the sentiment in black on a mauve scrap and used my small square punch to make it into a banner.  Lastly, I added some flowers, two punched butterflies, a die-cut vine, and some gems.  Here are the supplies used:

Glitter n Sparkle Challenge - Add Some Metal

Hello, friends.  It's Sunday and that means it's time for another challenge over at Glitter n Sparkle Challenge Blog.  This week's theme is Add Some Metal, so you could use charms, metallic colours, metallic glitter, etc.  For my card, I used a heart charm, metallic braided rope, and metal flecks in the specialty paper. 

I always love it when I get to play with a cat image so this challenge was a fun one.  This cute feline super hero is from Scribbles Designs - called Catman - and you can find it here.  I coloured it with pencils and fussy cut.  For the card itself, I covered a white base with metallic-flecked specialty paper and added a die-cut cityscape in red and some silver braided rope.  The sentiment is a freebie from Create with TLC (thank you, Paulette), which I die-cut into a label, inked the edges, sponged with black ink, and affixed to the card.  I affixed the image with foam tape and added a heart charm tied with black fiber.  Here are the supplies used:

Giraffe Hugs

Hello, everyone.  Today's card was inspired by the Coffee and Cream challenge at Joanna Sheen.

 

The cute little giraffe image is from Joanna Sheen (Little Suzy's Zoo JS632 - Fun in the Sun) and I coloured it with pencils.  I die-cut into an oval, doodled stitching around the edge, and mounted on a brown label.  For the card itself, I covered a cream base with brown cardstock, onto which I layered jungle-print paper.  Next I mounted an embossed cream panel onto kraft cardstock (the bottom of which I border-punched), added a strip of decorative brown ribbon, and affixed to the card.  I stamped the sentiment on kraft cardstock and affixed to the card.  For accents, I added a burlap butterfly sticker, onto which I layered a punched butterfly, and added another punched butterfly on the sentiment.  Lastly I added a number of brown gems.  Here are the supplies used:

Holly Leaves

Hello, everyone.  Today I made another Christmas card.  Mirror paper is very hard to photograph.  But I bet you already knew that.

I stamped the holly, coloured with pencils, and mounted on red mirror paper and then green cardstock.  For the base of the card, I affixed an embossed red mirror panel and added gold-trimmed red ribbon.  Lastly, I affixed the mounted image with foam tape and added red Stickles to the holly berries.  Here are the supplies used:

Changing Butterflies

Hello, everyone.  I did something different for today's card.  I was inspired by the Splash it On challenge at Annabelle Stamps so I really splashed it on!  I love how this turned out!  I used my Perfect Pearls on kraft cardstock to create an autumn background of fallen leaves.

The butterfly image is a free digi from Annabelle Stamps, which I coloured with pencils.  I mounted my splashed-on background on green cardstock, which covered a white card base.  I stamped the sentiment in green and embellished with three gold dew drops that I won from Robin's Nest.  Here are the supplies used:

Penquin Cocoa

Hello, everyone.  I found a new-to-me progressive challenge at Imagine That so I decided to play along.  This will be my first progressive challenge.  The requirement is to use one of their digis, and lucky for me (and you) this month happens to be a "jump back in" challenge where a freebie is provided:  "Penquin Cocoa."  I decided to go with non-traditional colours, which were inspired by C.R.A.F.T.'s colour combo challenge (see below). 

I coloured the image with pencils, die-cut into a label, mounted on a brown label, and added Stickles to the whipped cream. For the base of the card, I covered white cardstock with brown and added a panel of patterned paper, onto which I stamped the sentiment in brown.  I affixed the image with foam tape and added sparkly fiber, bow, and three skittles.  Here are the supplies used:

Purrfect Cat with Butterflies

Hello, everyone.  I made another kitty card LOL.

I started by stamping French script in grey and the word "Purrfect" in black on a cream card base.  I stamped the cat in black on a white scrap and mounted on black and then a torn burgundy scrap, onto which I stamped butterflies repeatedly in gold and "Double Blessings" sentiment in black.  I affixed the torn panel to the card and attached two black eyelets, which I tied with gold twine.  Lastly I embellished with two butterfly stickers.  Here are the supplies used:

Autumn Tree

Here is a fall card I made for my father. 

I brayered photo paper with brown and orange ink and stamped the tree in black.  I attached a metallic clip and tied with twine.  Lastly I mounted the brayered image on brown, orange and brown cardstock, which covered a white card base.  Here are the supplies used:

Poppies and Butterflies

Hello, everyone.  I made this card for someone in the hospital. Sometimes "Get Well Soon" doesn't cut it, so I like "Thinking of You."  I wanted this card to be bright and cheerful.

I started with a white card base, which I covered with green cardstock, onto which I layered some poppy-patterned paper.  I stamped the sentiment on the patterned paper and embellished with a chipboard butterfly, a butterfly charm, and two punched butterflies embellished with red gems.  I tied the charm with purple twine.  Here are the supplies used:

Glitter n Sparkle Challenge - Male Cards

Hello, friends.  It's Sunday and that means it's time for another challenge over at Glitter n Sparkle Challenge Blog.  This week's theme is Male Cards.  This was tough for me - I find masculine cards to be a challenge in themselves - but here's what I came up with.

I got to play with this cute little scene called Standing Guard from Gingerloft at Stitchy Bear Digi Outlet.  Cute, huh?  And great for a masculine fall card, which is what I created.  I coloured the digi with pencils, die-cut into an oval, and mounted on a decorative rust oval.  I started my card with a white base, which I covered with green cardstock, onto which I layered leaf-themed patterned paper.  I stamped the sentiment in black on the patterned paper and finished off by adding four leaves, a die-cut vine, and three gems.  Here are the supplies used:
