It's Your Pig Day (FTHS image)

Hello, everyone!  Today's card has been inspired by several challenges.  First of all, I'm taking part in From the Heart Stamps - Stamp of the Month challenge.  It's a progressive challenge.  Since I made a card last month using the March digi, I received the April digi for free! You can join at any time.  The April digi is called Hamlet PigWit Being Shy - what a cute little piggy!  I coloured him with Prismacolor pencils, fussy-cut, and added a party hat sticker.  The hat fits nicely with the Hats challenge over at Quirky Crafts!

My friend Monika at Creative with Monika is celebrating her birthday by hosting a challenge to CASE one of her cards.  Today is her birthday - Happy Birthday, Monika! - so I thought it was the best day to join in the fun!   She provided several samples of her cards to CASE and I chose "Cute and Funny Card."  However, rather than a plain white background as in her sample, I went with a stenciled background as in her "No Design Paper Card."  I also wanted to make a it a manly card because this is Monika's specialty.  I hope you like how I CASE'd your cards, Monika!

I sponged Crushed Olive Distress Ink using Simon Says Stamp's Screened Leaves stencil.  The sentiment is from Clearly Besotted's Flight of Fancy clear stamps and I heat embossed it in white on a black snippet. You will notice I modified the sentiment by replacing the word Special with Pig using my Dymo label maker - I wanted to create a pun!  Monika uses a Dymo on many of her cards also. Keeping it masculine, there are no embellishments, and Hamlet is standing on a piece of musical washi tape.

Thinking of You Flowers (Deedee's Digis)

Hello, everyone!  Today I'm sharing a CAS card I made with the April Digi of the Month from Deedee's Digis. This is a progressive challenge. Since I made a card last month using the March digi, I received this April digi for free! You can join at any time; see details here. I'm trying to get my monthly progressive challenge cards made early for a change!

I printed the floral image twice.  The first was embossed with Cuttlebug Juli's Garden and the second was die-cut into a circle using Nellie's Multi-frames. I enhanced the colour of the image with Prismacolor pencils and Wink of Stella glitter brush pen, and then I affixed it with foam tape.  I like how the tendrils extend out from beneath the popped-up circle.  The sentiment is from From the Heart Stamps. Lastly I added some sequins in rust, green, and gold.

Baby Girl

Hello, everyone!  Today I am sharing a baby card I made for Brian's niece and her husband a while back.

I used some fun digital images to create this card.  The sweet vintage baby is from Digital Stamp Design, and I used a frame from Enchanted Place of Neli; both were freebies at one point.  The Congratulations sentiment is from Crafty Secrets Cutie Cats.  I added two buttons, a charm, and twine from my stash.  Here's the inside:

I decorated the inside of the card using the same frame as on the front but added Sugar and Spice Sentiment from Bugaboo Digi Stamps.

Glitter n Sparkle DT - Anything Goes

Hello, everyone!  Before I share my card, I would like to extend a warm welcome to two lovely new followers - Melissa Beattie and Taunya Butler - so happy you joined me!

It's Sunday, so that means we have a new challenge for you over at Glitter n Sparkle Challenge Blog! This week our theme is everyone's favourite: Anything Goes! I chose an adorable kitty from one of our generous sponsors, Pattie's Creations, called Allie Sleeping in Pawprint Bed. I coloured the image with my Prismacolor pencils and fussy-cut.

I needed a sympathy card for a friend who lost her kitty. I think the sleeping kitty looks so peaceful here and I hope the card brings some comfort. The sentiment is a clear stamp from Technique Tuesday.  I used a strip of black patterned washi tape along the left edge and added thin strips of black and pink cardstock from my scraps pile.  Lastly I added three sequins and rounded the bottom right corner.

Inside the card I stamped a pet sympathy sentiment from DRS Designs.

Sailboat Shaker Card (ITDK)

Hello, everyone!  Today I'm sharing a fun shaker card I made with the April Digi of the Month from Imagine That... Digis by Kris. This is a progressive challenge. Since I made a card last month using the March digi, I received this April digi for free! You can join at any time; see details here.

I think this sailboat would be great for a boy's birthday card so that's what I made! I added the ocean waves that also came with the April set. The cloud paper is from Little Scraps of Heaven, and it was a freebie at one point. The cute sun is from Miss Kate's Cuttables, another freebie; and the sentiment is from Imagine That...Digis by Kris, from the Birthday Seahorse set. The dark-blue patterned frame is also ITDK, from the coordinating paper pack available as a Pixel Scrapper Blog Train freebie. The white shaker frame was die cut using Simon Says Stamps stitched rectangles. Inside the shaker are sequins in blues and golds.

Light It Up Blue for Autism Awareness Blog Hop

I needed an anniversary card so I decided to create one for today's hop!  I sponged Faded Jeans, Salty Ocean, and Tumbled Glass Distress Inks using a gorgeous flower stencil.  I spritzed water from about 18 inches away to add a textured look.  I heat embossed the sentiment from Newton's Nook Simply Sentimental with Aegean Silver (The Artful Stamper) on a vellum scrap.  I finished off the card with a few blue sequins.
