Luke 2:19-21 details Mary's reflection on the events surrounding Jesus' birth, the shepherds' return and joyful praise of God, as well as the child's circumcision on the eighth day and his naming as Jesus, as instructed by the angel before his conception. The name Jesus means "God saves."
