The Birth of Christ - Day 26 Scripture Writing

Hello, everybody. Today I present my scripture-writing journal page for December 26. These verses continue on in the Gospel of Matthew from yesterday's page (Day 25).

Matthew 2:7-12 describes the wise men, also known as "Magi," secretly questioning King Herod about the newborn "King of the Jews," whom Herod then cunningly questions about the star's appearance to learn the child's age and location, intending harm, and sends the Magi to Bethlehem, asking them to report back.

Historically, "Magi" referred to priests or wise men, possibly Persian astrologers, known for special knowledge. Guided by the star, the Magi find Jesus in a house (not a stable as often depicted), worship Him, and offer gifts of gold (kingship), frankincense (divinity), and myrrh (foreshadowing suffering/burial). Warned in a dream not to return to Herod, the Magi leave by a different route, protecting Jesus from the jealous king's deadly plans.

Significance of this text - it shows early recognition of Jesus by Gentiles (non-Jews), and establishes the contrast between true worship (Magi) and wicked ambition (Herod).

I adhered the following printables from my digital stash to make my page more interesting:
