Holiday Card 19 - C for Candy Cane (again)

Hi, everyone!  Before I share my card, I would like to welcome my newest follower - Michele Masarech - thank you for joining me!  If you would like to leave a link to your blog in the comments, I will hop over and follow you too!

Today I'm sharing another holiday card!  I've been having fun this month being inspired by the alphabet prompts over at Beccy's Place - she is having her sixth annual Month of Holiday Cards Challenge. Thank you, Beccy, for the daily inspiration!  I'm revisiting Day 3 which was "C", and I went with Candy Cane again.

I recently won this adorable Candy Cane Teddy image from Imagine That Digistamp (thank you, Kris!). I used the pre-coloured version and fussy-cut so I could pop him up on foam tape.  I used lots of my patterned paper scraps/snippets on this card - there are four different patterns!  I tore the edges on three of the strips to add some interest.  I remember doing this technique when I first started making cards, and I think it's making a comeback.  The sentiment is from one of the paper pads, and I finished off the card with three green snowflake sequins from my stash.

I would also like to support the following challenges: Cardz TV 74 AG 2/3; Crafty Hazelnut's Patterned Paper November UE; Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas AG Optional Beginning with "H" (hat) UE; Creatalicious AG Optional Layer it Up UE; DL.ART November Linky AG UE 1/d; Imagine That Digistamp Year-round Link-up UE; Jo's Scrap Shack AG 2/3; Joy Clair Inspiration Graphic (see below - I was inspired by the candy canes) UE; Just Keep on Creating November AG UE; Pixie's Snippet Playground 339 Use Snippets 1E; The House that Stamps Built Repeat Impressions DCC117 ~ Bear Hugs 2/3; Tuesday Throwdown Playing Dress Up 2/3

How very cute. I love the torn paper. I don't think that ever goes out of style.

The layers of torn paper look great....I need to think of using that technique more often. The image is so cute, and the card came out great.
Thanks for sharing at Jo's Scrap Shack!

I agree Kitty, I think the torn paper is making a comeback too. It was always an element I liked on projects since it softened up all the hard edges.
The little bear you used on today's card is adorable, I love the fluffy hat and enormous candy cane. Great mix of colours and patterns.
Cheers,
Beccy

Super cute image and great design, love the ripped paper element, all techniques make their rounds. I don't follow trends often (I'm usually behind the times) I just do what I like.
