Candy Cane Kitty

Hi, everyone!  Last month I did not achieve my goal of two winter holiday cards, so my plan this month is to make three.  Here is the first - I'm starting early!

My card began by stencilling a music background in black on Bristol Smooth and then I stencilled a scrap strip in coral.  I adhered thin strips in black and mint along the edge of the coral, cut from scraps.  I coloured the candy cane kitty with markers, fussy-cut, and adhered to a mini doily with foam tape.  I heat-embossed a sentiment in white on a black scrap and die-cut two tiny hearts from scraps.

Stamps:  Newton's Nook - Newton's Candy Cane (image and sentiment)
Stencils:  Newton's Nook - Music,  Newton's Nook - Holiday Foliage
Dies:  Gina Marie Designs - Drop Pennant, Newton's Nook - Darling Hearts
Ink:  Distress Oxide - Abandoned Coral, Black Soot, Memento Tuxedo Black, Versamark
Other:  Doodlebug Mini Doily, Ranger White Embossing Powder

Newton's Nook Products Used

My colour choices were inspired by Newton's Nook Inky Paws 122, which is a colour challenge (Coral Pink, Mint Green, White, and Black).  My use of stencils was inspired by STAMPlorations May Stencil Challenge:

I was also inspired by these 8 challenges:
Craft Stamper Take it Make it May AG 1/3
Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas AG Optional Bells UE
DL.ART May Linky AG UE 1/d
Pammie's Inky Pinkies AG 1/3 C10
Papercraft Business May AG 1/3
Pixie's Snippet Playground 377 Lots of scraps used (black, mint, Bristol) 1E C10
The 12 Months of Christmas Link-up AG Christmas Optional Deck the Paws 1/10
Word Art Wednesday 438-439 AG w Uplifting Sentiment 2/5 wk2

Thank you for looking at my card!  Wishing you a joyful day!
