Consciousness

For my Tuesday Morning Sketches Design Team card, see here.

Hello again! I'm back with another coffee-themed card!  I've been inspired by the 2020 Spring/Summer Coffee Lovers Blog Hop. There are already over 700 link-ups and lots of amazing inspiration!  Thank you to Amy and her team for organizing another fun hop!  I made this card for hubby and he got a kick out of it!

I started with the background by stencilling the coffee rings and splotches with Brushed Corduroy Distress Oxide on a kraft panel, which I die-cut with a stitched rectangle (Gina Marie Designs) and then layered onto red cardstock.  This funny image, including the sentiment, is Bugaboo Stamps Gus Tidbits Consciousness and I coloured it with markers and fussy-cut so I could pop it up on foam tape.  I also fussy-cut the sentiment and adhered with foam tape.

I recycled a coffee sleeve (see photo below)!  I've been wanting to use this on a card for ages and finally did!  I trimmed and layered it according to the sketch below and then stamped the sentiment (Your Next Stamp Happiness is You).  I also included the caution words from the coffee sleeve, which I thought were fun and worked well with the sketch.  I printed the buttons in red (Scribbles Designs freebie, thank you!), fussy-cut, and adhered.

My card design was inspired by Sketch Saturday 611:

I was also inspired by these 8 challenges:
Caffeine Fueled Paper Play Coffee, Tea or Cocoa product from any sponsor (Your Next Stamp) UE
Die Cut Divas Make it a Beverage (stitched rectangle die) 4/4
Double D Begins with M (man) 2/3
Double Trouble 57 Week 2 Brown Bag-It Day and Red (Thing1 Kraft, Thing3 Red) 1/4
Pixie's Snippet Playground 378 (Snippets are recycled coffee sleeve, kraft and red cardstock) 1E C10
Scribbles Designs 89 Brads, Buttons or Bows 1/3
Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Recycle (coffee sleeve) 1/5

Thank you for looking at my card!  Wishing you a joyful day!

What a fun masculine card! What would we do without coffee (I know your not a coffee drinker so I should say coffee, tea or hot chocolate!)

Although I am not a coffee drinker, I love that image. The sentiment is so perfect, especially for how many of us are feeling at this time. Back to my nap :)

I have some coffee sleeves stashed somewhere and I always forget to use them. Your card looks great! I think Gus needs a haircut.

What a clever idea to use the coffee cup wrap on your card, KT! Using a coffee rings for the background paper is really cute. Great job of coloring your androgynous coffee drinker, too. Thank you for sharing your creative "juices" with us at Double Trouble this week!!! -Donna

There are a lot of things that start with an "M" and I would not have thought of MAN. This is super funny and creative. Thanks so much for joining in the fun at Double D Challenge " begins with the letter M." Good luck!

What a great card Kitty! You reminded me that I have a load of coffee cup sleeves that I brought home from New Mexico to use on cards - if only I can find them of course!
