Cat Lovers Hop 12

Hello, everyone! Today is the final day for the Cat Lovers Hop, and I'm back with another holiday kitty card!  A special thank you to Janis at Her Peaceful Garden for hosting this fun event for those of us who love kitties!  (For an update on my husband's health, please see my blog post here.)

I didn't have a lot of time so I made this card with items I had in my stash which were originally destined for other cards.  Everything used on this card was at the ready, in my unfinished projects box, except for the stamped sentiment.  The background was a leftover from this project, which also tells how I made it with emboss resist and Distress Inks.  The singing kitty image is from MyGrafico; sentiment from Your Next Stamp; dies Lawn Fawn Forest Border and Poppystamps Melody Music.

I would like to support the following challenges:

Cat Lovers Hop 11 / Rudolph Day

Hello, everyone! Today is the final day for the Cat Lovers Hop, and I wanted to make some holiday kitty cards!  I made two, so stay tuned for another card today!  A special thank you to Janis at Her Peaceful Garden for hosting this fun event to celebrate our love of kitties!  I should also mention that it's time for Rudolph Days, hosted every month by the lovely Scrappymo!, and I definitely did not want to miss out!  (For an update on my husband's health, please see my blog post here.)

I didn't have a lot of time so I made this card with items I had in my stash which were originally destined for other cards.  Everything used on this card was at the ready, in my unfinished projects box, except for the punched shapes and stamping.  I love the cute vintage kitties!  The sentiment and snowflake stamps are from Newton's Nook Sweater Weather, and the ink is Your Next Stamp Holly Berry Red.  I used my Martha Stewart branch punch and Tim Holtz bow punch.  The embossing folder is Die'sire Embossalicious Let it Snow. I added a red gem to the bow and three red gems on the greenery to simulate berries.

I would like to support the following challenges:
  1. ABC Christmas V for Very Quick
  2. Cat Lovers Hop October 22-27 UE
  3. Crafty Creations AG 1/2
  4. Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas AG Optional for Someone Special UE

Cat Lovers Hop 10 - Goody Envelope

Hi, everyone!  This is the tenth post of my blog blast of cat-themed projects for the Cat Lovers Hop!  It's the final one for today (I think)!  A special thank you to Janis at Her Peaceful Garden for hosting this wonderful event to celebrate our love of kitties!  The hop runs until tomorrow so there is still time for you to join in the fun!  I'm excited to be joining this hop for the fourth year!  For an update on my husband's health, please see my first post here.

Last spring I was involved in a cat-themed swap, and part of the swap was to make some pretty packaging.  This is one of the envelopes I made to hold some swap items, but in the end I didn't use it.  I still have this envelope in my stash, ready to hold some crafty goodies to send to a friend!

The cat-in-envelope image is a postcard, and the Dream and floral die-cuts are from K and Company.  Behind the kitty is a gold doily from my stash.  I used a 12x12" sheet of patterned paper from my old stash to create the envelope.  I watched a few video tutorials on YouTube but made my own custom-size envelope.

Here's the back.  The bow punch is from Tim Holtz, and the handmade stamp was received in friend mail. The envelope is held closed with a velcro half-circle.

Cat Lovers Hop 9 - Tag

Hi, everyone!  This is the ninth post of my blog blast of cat-themed projects for the Cat Lovers Hop!

Earlier today I shared a happy mail / flat mail package that I sent to a crafty blog friend last spring.  You may have noticed this tag peeking out of the package so I thought I would share it as well.

I cut the cute kitty image from a recycled box of Valentines. I layered it on a die-cut tag (MFT Stitched Traditional Tags Stax) and added some baker's twine.  The top of the tag was embellished with a gathered crepe paper strip that I made.

Cat Lovers Hop 8 - Bookmark

Hi, everyone!  This is the eighth post of my blog blast of cat-themed projects for the Cat Lovers Hop!

In my last post, I shared a happy mail / flat mail package that I sent to a crafty blog friend last spring.  I tucked this adorable kitty bookmark into the flat mail package so I thought I would share it as well.

My crafty friend has a Siamese cat so I did my best to make the bookmark look like a Siamese cat!  I used the Your Next Stamp Cat Bookmark and Animal Bookmark Add-on Dies to create this cute kitty!  I edged the cat with Vintage Photo Distress Ink and added white paint marker to the eyes.

I wanted to add a photo of the bookmark peeking out of the flat mail envelope and looking so cute, but this is the only one I have.  Sorry about the poor quality of the photo!  Here the package is already wrapped in cellophane, and I was measuring it for future reference / postal requirements.

Cat Lovers Hop 7 - Flat Mail Envelope

Hi, everyone!  This is the seventh post of my blog blast of cat-themed projects for the Cat Lovers Hop!

In May I made some happy mail / flat mail for one of my cat-loving blog friends (you know who you are!).  I watched a YouTube tutorial to create the flat mail envelope, which measures about 8 1/4 inches by 5 1/4 inches.  The idea of flat mail is to keep the envelope flat and within the size and weight range for international mail to save on postage costs.

The precious kitty face image is a digital from Free Pretty Things for You, which I fussy-cut.  I made a gathered crepe paper strip and added a border die-cut (MFT Squiggle Border), a gold doily die-cut, a doily from my stash, and some punched butterflies with gems. The tiny tickets were fussy-cut from a My Minds Eye paper pad, and the little blue kitty rectangle is a small magnetic bookmark that I made.  The double-sided patterned paper is from K and Company, and I outlined the entire envelope with a gold paint marker.

I also decorated the back.  The precious kitties are a digital from Free Pretty Things for You, which I fussy-cut and layered on a blue doily from my stash.

Cat Lovers Hop 6 - Decorated Gift Bag

Hi, everyone!  This is the sixth post of my blog blast of cat-themed projects for the Cat Lovers Hop!

This is a gift bag that I decorated to hold some swap items.

The precious cat image was fussy-cut from a topper from Wild Rose Studio Printed Panels - Elsie (I received these in some happy mail many years ago - thank you - you know who you are!).  I made a gathered crepe paper strip and adhered it to a gift bag (Dollarama).  I finished it off with a tiny heart-topped clothespin and some fun stickers.

The cat image was fussy-cut from a recycled greeting card.  Behind the kitty are some layered doilies from my stash.  The thought bubble and sentiment are from MFT Stamps (Cattitude and I Knead You).  The heart die-cuts are from MFT Die-namics Heart Border Staggered. Cat Lovers Hop 2 - Planner Clips

Hi, everyone!  This is the second post of my blog blast of cat-themed projects for the Cat Lovers Hop!

Last spring I was involved in a cat-themed swap, and I created some cat planner clips for my swap partner. She has a black kitty so I chose images with a black kitty (these are from Calico Collage and Images4You, both on Etsy).

I used a 1" circle punch to cut the image, placed an epoxy circle sticker over it, and then adhered them to the gold paper clips. I backed them with another 1" circle of patterned paper.

These clips are attached to an ATC (artist trading card), measuring 3.5” x 2.5”, the perfect size for tucking into a pocket letter, which is what I did with these.  The stamped sentiment is from Happy Little Stampers - Doodled Flowers, and I used some patterned paper from my stash.

I would also like to support the following challenges:  Cardz TV 71 AG 2/3; Carlin's Kaartenparadijs Cat plus Black 1/3; Crafty Friends Circles 1/3; Crafty Hazelnut's Patterned Paper October UE; Hiding in my Craft Room Freestyle 2/3; Just Keep on Creating AG UE; Pammie's Inky Pinkies AG 2/3; Penny's Paper-crafty AG 2/3; The Corrosive October AG 2/3; Tuesday Throwdown Crazy Circles 1/3; Word Art Wednesday AG w Uplifting Sentiment 2/5 wk1

Cat Lovers Hop 1 - Goody Envelope

Hello, everyone!  Long time, no see!  I'm here today because I really, really want to participate in the Cat Lovers Hop!  This is the fourth year, and I have not missed one yet!  I know I'm late to the party, but it runs until tomorrow (October 27) so you still have time to join!  Please go check it out and see all the cute kitty inspiration for yourself!

While I haven't had any time to craft lately (you can read why here), happily I already have a number of cat-themed projects that I made in the spring.  Since I have some time today (I woke up at 4:30 a.m.!), I'm going to share as many of my projects as I can.

I apologize to my followers in advance for the blog blast, but I have to seize the time when I have it!  Please do not feel obligated to comment on any of my projects.  However, I hope it will give you some kitty-loving inspiration and that you'll head over and join the Cat Lovers Hop yourself!

The good news is that Brian will be discharged from the rehab hospital within the next couple weeks!  After he comes back home, I hope to have some time to myself and will look forward to visiting your blogs and seeing what you made.  I can't wait to get caught up with everyone!  Brian has a long road ahead of him, but the doctors say it's possible he will fully recover.  It will likely take a year or more, but I'm praying he heals even sooner.  Your prayers are appreciated!

Now on to the Cat Lovers Hop!  A big thank you to Janis at Her Peaceful Garden for hosting this fun event again this year to celebrate our love of cats!
