So Jolly

Hello, everyone!  I wanted to pop in with a quick update about my husband's health.  He was misdiagnosed in the local hospital's emergency room in August, and was sent home with some anti-seizure pills and a referral to a neurologist.  At that time, he didn't even know his own name, and he did not have a seizure.  Fortunately, as soon as the neurologist saw him on September 11, he was immediately admitted to the hospital (a different hospital, thankfully).  My husband had a stroke caused by a blood clot, and it has affected his thinking and speech.

Two days ago, he was transferred from the hospital to the rehabilitation center.  He is where he needs to be, and I hope he can recover fully and come home soon.  In the meantime, I have been making the 4-hour roundtrip by bus every other day.  I've taken a few days off as I'm physically and emotionally exhausted.  I'm hoping to make the trip again tomorrow or Saturday, depending on his rehabilitation schedule. Thank you to everyone who has been praying for his recovery - your prayers are appreciated.

I will not be blogging for a while, but I am committed to Rudolph Day and do not want to miss it. I've cobbled together this quick card by recycling an old holiday card and using some stickers for the sentiment and bird. The snowflake-embossed background (Die'sire Embossalicious Let it Snow) and silver snowflake (Lawn Fawn Stitched Snowflakes) were already made and waiting to be used.

So sorry I cannot do any blog visiting at this time but I will catch up with everyone later, whenever I am able to have some time for myself.

I would like to support the following challenges:

That is a great way to use an older Christmas card and make it like new again. It is so gorgeous and the big snowflake sticker is a great way to embellish it. So sorry about your hubby and I hope he can be able to come home again soon. Don't worry about blogging or visiting. Just take care of the things now that really need your attention and try to get some much needed rest. We fully understand that family comes first.

It’s easy to get caught up in everything and forget to take care of yourself in such a stressful time. I hope the card making was a relaxing exercise, it’s lovely.

Your card is very lovely.

I will say a prayer for your husband. As the caregiver, you do need to remember to care for yourself. Eat enough, sleep enough and get some help when you need it.

Hi, KT. It breaks my heart to hear all that your DH is going through. I so hope you see brighter days soon, and that he makes a full recovery. You have really been through the wringer with this one! I can only imagine the toll it is taking on BOTH of you, but especially on your health as well. As you said, it is also emotional, but the FMS really does affect our stamina, which of course, affects us chemically as well. Yes, you are held dearly in my heart, and so is DH. I wish you did not have to go through this - and be so far apart in the process. Please take care. xx
