Twist Pop-up Card from Scraps

Hi, everyone!  In keeping with my goal for this year, I tried a different style of card!  It's a Twist Pop-up!  It is not new, but new to me!  To start, I saw a fun challenge to "Use Your Scraps" at Winnie and Walter's 4th Birthday Bash and thought it would be a good opportunity to use all the scraps I had left over from the three cat ATCs I made last week.  Here's a photo of my scraps before I started:

I decided to make a card for Janis at Her Peaceful Garden to coordinate with the ATCs I made for her 60th birthday ATC party. Janis loves cats, and I always say if you have a birthday in February, you have to expect hearts on your card as well!  I could also say that this card celebrates Janis's love of cats!  Here is the front:

Stamps:  Sentiment (Lawn Fawn Meow You Doin')
Ink:  Versamark
Digital Background: Winnie and Walter - The Gossip Column Grid freebie
Dies: Poppystamps Strolling Kitties, Poppystamps Pouncing Cat, Poppystamps Curious Cat, Poppystamps Heart Buttons, stitched scalloped hearts
Other: Embossing folder (Cuttlebug Cross Your Heart), Ranger white embossing powder, number stickers

Now here's the exciting part - when you open it!  I'm so happy with how it turned out!  Such a fun surprise when it's opened!  I followed a YouTube video tutorial on Maymay Made It Crafts.  If I had to make it over, I would use lighter-weight cardstock for the twist pop-up mechanism as the card became bulky, and it will not lie flat when closed. I will be doing that next time.

Stamps:  Furtastic, two paws up, pawprints (Penny Black Nine Lives), purr, yarnball (Hero Arts Purr), birthday sentiment (DRS Designs), meow (Lawn Fawn Meow You Doin'), food dish (Your Next Stamp Jessica's Kitten)
Ink:  Versafine Onyx Black
Digital Background: Winnie and Walter - The Gossip Column Grid freebie
Dies: Poppystamps Playful Kitties, Poppystamps Large Pouncing Cat, Poppystamps Strolling Kitties, Poppystamps Heart Buttons, stitched scalloped hearts

Amazing way to use up your snippets, and what a nifty card to make...I love the combination of the elements you've put into this pretty card. I've never tried one of these types of cards, so my hat's off to you, as you succeeded admirably with the effect. I learned the same lesson when doing Iris folds (not that I've done any since right after the class!) The design paper or very lightweight c/s works better than using the 'good stuff'. But whether the card lies flat or not, it's still pretty and Janis will love it! TFS & have a great week.

Aww, what a wonderful card for Janis! Love that you made it from the scraps from the ATCs you made for her earlier. So it automatically coordinates : ) Glad you shared a photo of your scraps pile before digging into it! The card turned out really well, especially with the surprise inside. So glad you were able to join in my Use Your Scraps challenge for Winnie & Walter!
