Diver Daniel (Deedee's Digis)

Hello, everyone!  Today I'm participating in the Digi of the Month (DOTM) challenge at Deedee's Digis. This is a progressive challenge. Since I played along last month, I received the June DOTM for free. You can join at any time... the current DOTM is offered at a reduced price so now's the time to go check it out!

I made this card for Brian! He has a tough time at work sometimes and this card is for encouragement. I started with a leftover snippet of watercolour paper and sponged Distress Inks (Chipped Sapphire, Salty Ocean, and Broken China) on the smooth side to create an underwater background. Using a rubber stamp (Magenta Zebra Stripes) and water, I stamped the inky background repeatedly to add the look of waves. I love the effect of the water-stamping on Distress Inks! Then I die-cut the watercolour panel using Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles and a couple more in navy cardstock for a frame.  I layered the frame so it would look like a picture frame.

Using the precoloured images, I fussy-cut Diver Daniel, the rock formation, and fish from Deedee's Diver Daniel DOTM set, along with the turtle from Deedee's Go with the Flow set and the goldfish from Deedee's Goody Jars set, and affixed them to the underwater background. Diver Daniel is popped up with foam tape. The sentiment is from Deedee's Life's a Beach set. Lastly I added a number of sequins.
