Have an Ice Day

Hello, everyone!  Today I'm sharing my first slimline card, and I decided to create a winter scene.  I like to make at least two winter holiday cards each month, but last month I made only one.  This month I'm starting early so I can hopefully achieve my goal!

The images, along with the sentiment, are all from Scribbles Designs (Snow Couple, Snow Sign, and Have an Ice Day).  I coloured the images with markers and fussy-cut so I could pop them up with foam tape, including the sentiment. The fun sign reads, "Free Snow - U Haul."

My card began with a Distress Oxide background for the sky  I used a number of landscape die-cuts in various shades of white/glitter cardstock that were already cut and left over from last year (brands are Lawn Fawn, Poppystamps, Simon Says Stamp), and  I layered them together to create the scene.  I punched a couple snowflakes from the Distress Oxide piece and added a number of red snowflake sequins.  Here's an angled view of the card which shows the red sequins a bit better.

I was inspired by the following challenges: ABC Christmas S for Snowy UE; Allsorts 589 11th Birthday Celebration I love... making scene cards, using die-cuts, making Distress Oxide backgrounds, colouring with markers, fussy-cutting, snowflakes 2/3; Ally's Angels 38 AG 1/3; Artsystamper Digitals AG 1/3; Cardz TV 123 AG 1/3; Colour Crazy 36 Anything Goes 1/2; Crafter's Castle September AG 1/3; Crafts Galore Encore September AG 1/3; Crafty Calendar AG 1/3; Crafty Friends 144 AG 1/3; Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas 507 AG UE; Die Cut Divas Holidays 1/4; DL.ART September AG UE 1/d; Double Trouble 66 Make a Scene (Thing1 only) 1/4; Gem of a Challenge 19 AG 2/3; Kat Scrappiness September Slimline UE; Lil Patch of Crafty Frienda 141 AG 1/3; Polkadoodles 37 Anything Goes 2/3; Scribbles Designs 91 The Great Outdoors 1/3; Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Humourous/Fun Card (punny sentiment and funny sign) 1/5; The 12 Months of Christmas Link-up September 1/10; The Outlawz Festive Fridays Christmas UE; Tuesday Throwdown AG 1E; Virginia's "Show and Share" September AG 1/4; Winter Wonderland Snowmen and Snow 1/3; Word Art Wednesday 456-457 AG w Uplifting Sentiment wk1 2/5

Thank you for looking at my card! Wishing you a joyful day!

Your first slimline card turned out great! I have cut out base for slimline card, but somehow didn't finish it.
It is nice to see how you used the scraps. The glitter cardstock adds nice touch.

Such a fabulously designed skinny card scene, KT! So many layers, and lots of fun snowflakes. It definitely says to this Floridian that you live in Canada! LOL My favorite parts are the signage with the U-Hall Free Snow, and the cute loving snow people. Do you make snowmen anymore? Not sure I'd have the energy, but it would be fun to imagine. wishing you well, love, de
