Sending Warm Wishes

Hello, everybody!  Today I'm sharing a winter holiday card featuring a cute kitty who is enjoying the snowfall.

This kitty is part of Gerda Steiner Designs Three Carol Cats and I coloured him with markers, added Star Dust Stickles to his hat, and fussy-cut so I could pop him up on foam tape.  Using dies from my stash, patterned paper, some punched snowflakes and two clear gems, I was inspired by the sketch at Sketch Saturday Week 629:

Wise Words Bring Healing

Hello, everyone!  Before I get started, I would like to welcome my newest follower - Kathleen - thank you for joining me!  This is my first time using New Blogger - I could no longer find "Revert to Legacy Blogger" (insert sad face).  

Today I'm sharing an encouragement card featuring a kitty and one of my favourite scriptures (Proverbs 12:18, NCV).  

For the patterned paper background, I chose to use a journal card (Pixel Scrapper) and digitally added the scripture.  I die-cut the background with a stitched rectangle (Gina Marie Designs).  I stamped the kitty (Fiskars) and fussy-cut so I could pop him up on foam tape.  I added a punched heart to the banner at the top.

Have an Ice Day

Hello, everyone!  Today I'm sharing my first slimline card, and I decided to create a winter scene.  I like to make at least two winter holiday cards each month, but last month I made only one.  This month I'm starting early so I can hopefully achieve my goal!

The images, along with the sentiment, are all from Scribbles Designs (Snow Couple, Snow Sign, and Have an Ice Day).  I coloured the images with markers and fussy-cut so I could pop them up with foam tape, including the sentiment. The fun sign reads, "Free Snow - U Haul."

My card began with a Distress Oxide background for the sky  I used a number of landscape die-cuts in various shades of white/glitter cardstock that were already cut and left over from last year (brands are Lawn Fawn, Poppystamps, Simon Says Stamp), and  I layered them together to create the scene.  I punched a couple snowflakes from the Distress Oxide piece and added a number of red snowflake sequins.  Here's an angled view of the card which shows the red sequins a bit better.

Autumn Greetings

Hello, everyone! Today I'm sharing a card for the September Progressive Freebie Challenge at The Outlawz.  I received this image for free (Signs of Autumn from Jan's Digi Stamps) because I participated in last month's challenge - thank you!.

I printed the image on mustard cardstock and coloured it with pencils. I fussy-cut the image and added Glossy Accents to the jar. I used a bunch of my scraps for this card - Yay! The background paper is an old book page, which I inked with Vintage Photo Distress Ink. I tore some scraps of patterned paper to create a spot for the jar to sit. I added a fussy-cut squirrel and a leaf stem die-cut, both left over from other projects.  The two fallen leaves are from the same image, printed on orange cardstock. The sentiment was also part of this freebie and it was printed on mustard cardstock and fussy-cut. I added a self-made Hello sentiment near the squirrel.  To finish the card, I added a two-layered butterfly punched from my scraps and adhered a black gem in the center.
