Eli's Close Call

Hello, everyone!  Happy Christmas Eve Day!  No card to share today but Eli the elf wants to show off his adventures in trying to befriend my big kitty Honeydew.  I have been hesitant to share these photos. It did not go as well as I had hoped. Warning: Sensitive viewers and small children should look away! But remember - it all has a happy ending! Eli is okay and he has learned a valuable lesson (the hard way!).

It started out as a courteous exchange of pleasantries between cat and elf.

Next a little sniffing - this is when Honeydew realizes that Eli is the size of the toy mouse he likes to play with.

Eli has been caught in Honeydew's grip!  However, you can see here that Honeydew's claws have been trimmed so they are not sharp. Eli is not in any danger! He is lying still, waiting to make his move...

Success!  Eli later subdues Honeydew and rides on his back!

The next exchange between Eli and Honeydew was a bit more frightening... the photos will speak for themselves...

Sorry about the blur!  These are action shots!  The red blur is Eli!

In the end, Eli has won over Honeydew with his elf charm (for the moment)!  They may never be "friends" but they have an understanding.  The understanding is that Eli will steer clear of Honeydew!  Eli has learned a valuable lesson! The moral of the story is: If it's furry and purr-y, be ready to scurry!

The death-defying Eli would like to link up over at DL.ART's Third Annual Elf Antics Linky! You can check out the antics of Eli and his elf friends over at the linky!

Eli and I would like to wish you all the happiest of holidays!

Oh no, I was a little worried for Eli's well-being for a moment!! I'm glad he was able to win over Honeydew with his elfin charm!! Honeydew is so beautiful, by the way!! I hope you and your family have a safe and happy holiday season!! Big hugs :)

LOL. Like the Eli & Honeydew action story. Wish you a Merry Christmas. Both the small & large Snoopy snowglobes use AA batteries. When turned on (no shaking required) the snow is swooshed around and there is an option to play music as well.

Glad Eli is okay. Hope he remembers next year not to go anywhere near the cats! I think he needs to befriend someone else! Merry Christmas to Eli from Ron.

Eeeek! What a fear!!! For an instant have feared the worse!!!
The photo with Eli among Honeydew's claws is terrible!! You are a very talented photograph!! Poor Eli, he has had a lot of courage and has been very lucky to not end badly!!!! Spectacular reportage, Kitty, you have been very clever!
Now seems that Eli has won, but you and Eli must be soooo careful, Honeydew has a bad expression in the last photo...!
Merry Christmas, my friend

Oh my gosh, I don't know whether to laugh or cry at Eli's run-in with Honeydew....but I think laughing won over! Loopy stays waaaay clear of any live pets because our dog, Toby, who now lives with my parents, thinks she's a fun new dog toy and Loopy is not interested at all in being picked up and carried across the yard by a DOG! I'll miss seeing Eli's adventures after the Elf Antics end, but Loopy is looking forward to meeting up with Eli on Boxing Day. She had no idea what Boxing Day was, so I had to look it up and explain it to her. Any day that involves presents is a favorite day for Loopy! Merry Christmas to you and brave Eli!

OMGosh - I was a little worried there and I think by the look on Honeydew's face in the last photo that he is planning his next move. !!!
Pretty sure that Eli should steer well clear !!!
Hope you all have a fabulous festive season.
