I wanted to try a new technique that I saw over at MFP Speedy TV. It's called "Block it Off," and a tutorial is provided. I must say I am pleased with the result. I started with this adorable little pre-coloured digi from Free Dearie Dolls Digi Stamps (thank you, Mary Ellen), and then I "blocked it off" using a black Sharpie, following the tutorial. I'm really not much of a doodler, but it turned out okay, and I think it sort of looks like a blackboard behind the mouse.
I covered a white card base with black cardstock and affixed the crayon DP. I rounded the corners and mounted the image on a black rounded-corner panel and attached to the card with foam tape. I printed the sentiment (courtesy of Doodle Pantry, thank you) on yellow cardstock, die cut into a scallop rectangle, and affixed to the card with foam tape. Lastly I embellished with three black gems. Here are the supplies used:
