Ellie with Kittens

Hello, everyone!  Although I haven't felt motivated to make cards lately, there was no way I could miss the final Rudolph Day of the year!  I managed to get my act together to make this card featuring the November image for the Progressive Freebie Challenge at The Outlawz.  I received this image for free because I participated in last month's challenge - thank you!  

I coloured the image (Ellie with Kittens from The Paper Nest Dolls) with markers and fussy-cut so I could pop her up on foam tape.  I used dies, patterned paper, glitter paper, and an embossing folder from my stash.  I created the sentiment in Microsoft Word, and I finished the card with three red snowflake sequins and a teal gem adhered to the bow.  My card design was inspired by Week 637 at Sketch Saturday:

Hello, everyone.  I don't normally share much personal information on my blog but I wanted to let you know that we said good-bye to our beloved Kiwi yesterday. It has been sad these past 4 weeks as his health worsened, and we have shed many tears.

Rest in peace, my precious Kiwi. You will be forever in our hearts.

Retro Kitty Shaker

Hi, everybody!  I mentioned in my previous blog post that lately I've been loving all things retro, so I decided to make another retro shaker card!  I used this precious kitty image that I received during the Gecko Galz Annual Blog Hop last week called Pretty Pink Christmas.  I've been inspired by Gecko Galz White Christmas Challenge as well as Beccy's Place - A Month of Holiday Cards, where I've jumped ahead to the letter "K" for kitty.

I die-cut a stitched square from an embossed holly leaf panel and adhered acetate to the reverse side to create the shaker. I adhered foam tape to the back of the panel, added some clear and irridescent sequins in various shapes and sizes, and then adhered the adorable kitty. I finished off the card with a stamped sentiment (Simon Says Stamp) in pink and three pink snowflake sequins.

Retro Reindeer Shaker

Hello, everyone!  Lately I've been enjoying all things retro, and I fell in love with this cute reindeer image that I received during the Gecko Galz Annual Blog Hop last week called Pretty Pink Christmas.  I decided to make a shaker card!  I've been inspired by Gecko Galz White Christmas Challenge as well as Beccy's Place - A Month of Holiday Cards, where I've jumped ahead to the letter "R" for retro and reindeer.  

I die-cut a rectangle (Whimsy Stamps) from an embossed panel (Die'sire Embossalicious Let it Snow) and adhered acetate to the reverse side to create the shaker.  I adhered foam tape to the back of the panel, added some clear sequins in various shapes and sizes, and then adhered the adorable reindeer.  I finished off the card with a stamped sentiment (SugarPea Designs) in pink and three irridescent snowflake sequins.

Marleen's Stocking

Hi, everybody!  Today I'm joining a new Progressive Challenge at Imagine That Digistamp!  I received this cute image, along with papers and sentiment, for free when I signed up.  If you'd like to join and get this set for free, you can still sign up this month.  

This set is called Marleen's Stocking. I opted for the precoloured version and fussy-cut so I could pop her up on foam tape.  I adhered her to a snowflake-embossed scrap and layered the digital papers according to the sketch shown below.  I added Star Dust Stickles to her cap and Xmas Red Stickles to the berries on the paper.  I finished the card by stamping a tiny sentiment (Merry and Bright) at the bottom left and adhering a large green snowflake sequin.

Here is the inside of the card, using the sentiment provided and a strip of leftover patterned paper:

Warm Winter Wishes Cardinal

Hello, everyone!  One of the events I look forward to each year has begun!  It's Beccy's Place - A Month of Holiday Cards!  This is Beccy's 8th year for the festivities, and it's always a lot of fun!  I'm not sure how many cards I will be able to make this year, but I am aiming for a couple a week.  If you would like some inspiration to make your holiday cards, then you will want to check out Beccy's daily posts.  

This is an alphabet challenge but I'll be skipping around.  Beccy's already on the letter "C" so I went with Cardinal.

I started with the background and applied sparkly embossing paste through a snowflake stencil (Hot off the Press Snowfall).  I mounted this panel on red cardstock.  I fussy-cut the cute cardinal (Beccy's Place Christmas Cardinals) and popped it up on foam tape.  I die-cut the sentiment (STAMPlorations Warm Winter Wishes Phrase Die) in black and adhered.
