The Birth of Christ - Day 16 Scripture Writing

Hello, everyone. Today I am sharing my scripture-writing journal page for December 16. These verses continue on from yesterday's page (Day 15).

Luke 2:1-5 describes how a Roman census decree by Caesar Augustus forced Joseph and his heavily pregnant fiancée Mary to travel from Nazareth to Bethlehem (David's city) to register, which fulfilled  prophecy that the Messiah would be born there, despite the difficult journey and crowded conditions.

I used the following printables from my digital stash to make the page more interesting:
  • Illustrations - Deanna's Printables Facebook Group
  • Typed Text - The Trucking Scribe
  • Label - Antique Images
  • Title Square - Self-made
  • Number - Vintage Glam Studio

I use the Authorized King James Version of the Bible to write scriptures.

Like your page, liked the commentary about the distance of Mary's journey and I did not know that Bethlehem meant House of Bread.

Kitty, it’s so encouraging to me to see you journaling through the Bible during this Christmas season. As I think about Mary having to travel when she was “heavily pregnant” that sounds like such a challenge for her. Especially when you consider how primitive things probably were back then compared to today. Thanks so much for sharing your lovely work with us at Word Art Wednesday!

Everyone knows, or at least everyone should know, the stories from the Bible, and yet I discover things on your pages that I didn't know before, or that I may have forgotten. Hugs Gundi
