Beaver Sending Smiles

For my Growing in Unity - Day 3 card and giveaway, please go here.

Hi, everyone!  I'm back with another card today!  I made a night-time forest scene featuring a  beaver, and I also included a little bunny, squirrel, and owl.  This card is going to my brother, who has a slight beaver problem near his property.

I stamped the beaver and wood pile from Your Next Stamp Autumn Animals, coloured them with markers, and fussy-cut. I die-cut a tree frame twice, once in kraft and the other in green. I cut off the leaves on the kraft tree and adhered it to the green one so the leaves showed through.

Using Your Next Stamp Forest Friends Die Set, I die-cut the evergreen trees in green, used a Fiskars wavy crimper to add texture, and then adhered them behind the tree frame.  I adhered the tree frame to a dark-brown woodgrain-embossed background and added a die-cut grass border at the bottom. I die-cut the bunny, squirrel, and owl from Your Next Stamp Forest Friends Die Set and adhered them to the tree or grass, along with the beaver and wood pile.  Lastly I white-heat-embossed a sentiment from Your Next Stamp Woodland Cuties on a dark-brown scrap and adhered with foam tape.

I was inspired by the following challenges:

  9. what an adorable card, wow a lot of die cutting and gluing. Your brother will get a laugh out of it (I hope) We had beavers not far from us, we used to go watch them and then they were relocated, they are very destructive in the city.
