Although the hop has been loads of fun, today I read the sad news about the recent passing of Newton of Newton's Nook fame, as well as his snuggle-buddy Hobbes, who crossed the rainbow bridge in August. My heartfelt sympathies go out to Jen and Jeff of Newton's Nook on their loss of these two amazing kitties that I've grown to love over the years.
In honour of Newton and Hobbes, I've inked up my Newton's Nook Sweater Weather again. I coloured the sweater kitty and mittens with my markers and fussy-cut. The purple sky was made awhile ago and I believe it was with watercolour and Distress Ink sprays. I white-heat-embossed all the snowflakes in the stamp set, as well as two from another set, Newton's Nook Fox Hollow. I made a little winter scene using Memory Box Warm Wishes Border. This die contains the dot over the "i" (tittle) but I couldn't find it and thought it looked fine without it. I finished off the card by adding a few purple sequins.

The purple sky is awesome and I love how you colored the image. I'm so sad about Newton and just months after Hobbes. Even though I've never met them Newton reminded me of our ginger kitty we lost in 2013 and I still miss him everyday. Our fur babies definitely don't live as long as we want them to. I'm glad you made a card to honour Newton and Hobbes.

ReplyDeleteYour card is so gorgeous, Kitty! Love the pretty monochrome look. I esp love the purple winter sky and sweet Newton all bundled up. I can NEVER find the dots for my die cut 'I's either!!! But it's all good and looks fab without it. Glad I'm not the only one that loses them, though. I imagine they are in the same black hole that is filled with missing socks. Ha.

Your card is so pretty. Love the colors and of course the Newton's Nook stamps. I was sad also to hear of their sweet cats passing. Having had one of mine pass away in May, I can sympathise with their loss.

ReplyDeleteIt is so sad to lose both kitties in a short space of time. The same thing happened to mine a long time ago - I think the one left behind just pined and gave up. Just heart breaking!
