Altered Paper Clips

Hi, everyone!  I have something different to share today.  I made some altered paper clips!  They were made using my scraps!  It was an Earth Day project that I finally got around to making yesterday.

The die-cut flowers and leaves were leftover snippets from other projects, and I die-cut the layered banners from scraps of patterned paper and cardstock.  I was inspired by ScrapPerfect's altered paper clips video here.

Products used:
  • Dies:  Flowers (MFT Stitched Flowers, Cheery Lynn Build a Flower 1, Impression Obsession Tiny Flowers), Leaves (Cheery Lynn Ivy Strip and Flourish Leaf Strip)
  • Patterned paper:  Snippets from MME Indie Chic Saffron
  • Cardstock:  Recollections scraps
  • Other:  Paper clips, gems

Here's a photo of the back.  They can be used just like any paper clip. These clips were fun to make and I plan to make more!  This project is a great way to use up scraps!

These are going to be a gift for my Mom so I decided to make a pretty package for gift-giving.  I used a craft knife to cut a tiny slit in the patterned paper behind each clip so they can be removed easily.  Again, I used only scraps and added a little butterfly charm.

  • Stamp:  Sentiment (Clearly Besotted Fancy Sayings)
  • Patterned paper:  Snippets from MME Indie Chic Saffron
  • Cardstock:  Recollections scrap
  • Other:  Butterfly charm
