I used some dimensional metallic frog stickers that were in my stash. I think I bought them at the dollar store last year - they are so cute! I die-cut the cross-stitched banners from patterned paper scraps (Cosmo Cricket Mini Deck - Twenty-Three). The little sentiments were fussy-cut from the same paper pad. I keep my scraps in an envelope glued to the back of my paper pads, and I like to reach for my scraps before cutting into a new sheet. I was inspired to make these altered paper clips after watching ScrapPerfect's video here.
Here's a photo of the back. They can be used just like any paper clip. These clips were fun to make and I already have ideas to make more! This project is a great way to use up scraps!
Since these are going to be a gift for my Dad, I decided to make a nice package for gift-giving. I used a craft knife to cut a tiny slit in the patterned paper behind each clip so they can be removed easily. The stitched sun die-cut was in with my patterned paper scraps and I thought it went well. I finished off the packaging by adding a small insect charm. The sentiment stamp is from Clearly Besotted Fancy Sayings. The patterned paper scraps used in the packaging are from MME The Sweetest Thing.
