Gingerbread House (YNS dies)

Hello, everyone!  Today I've made a card using some awesome dies I received from Brian for Christmas - Your Next Stamp Gingerbread House and Forest Friends.  I fell in love with these dies as soon as I saw them!  This is the first time I've used them and I'm so happy with how my card turned out!  I made this card for Brian to celebrate our first winter together in our new home!  See the heart-shaped smoke coming from the chimney!


I was inspired by the sketch over at Your Next Stamp (see below) and made this snowy scene. My new dies cut very well, and the house went together like a dream! The trickiest part was getting the tiny yellow pieces to fit inside the windows but I used my tweezers! The snowdrifts, trees, and squirrel are from Forest Friends, and the rest are from Gingerbread House. 

The gingerbread house is supposed to be our new house, and the little gingerbread people are supposed to be Brian and me!  There's our house number on the little sign above the cute squirrel!


I used white Flower Soft on the trees and Perfect Pearls in the sky to represent snow. It's hard to tell but I used my Fiskars wavy crimper on the wreath and trees. The icy overhang is die-cut from glitter tape, and it's really sparkly in person!  I added a clear gem for the door knob.  A wonderful thing about using dies is using up my snippets/leftovers so I'm linking up to Pixie's Snippet Playground.

I'm also linking this up to Scrap it with a Song - I was inspired by the song Little by Little, especially the line, "Little by little, I gave you everything you ever dreamed of," because Brian and I have dreamed about having a home together for nearly 10 years, and he finally made the dream come true this past summer!

    Lovely card and Brian has choosed well, these dies are too cute!!! Love the heart-shaped smoke, fabulous!!! You have made a beautiful scene and the number of the house near the squirrel (very cute also it!!) is a stunning details for you both!

    OMGoodness!!!! Kitty, this is so cute and perfect! Love the smoke coming out of the chimney and the Flower Soft on the trees. It's a wonderful winter scene and I'm thinking you need to frame this for your new home with Brian! SO CUTE!
