Snowy Winter Night (Magenta stamp)

Hi, everyone!  Today I was playing with my new Distress Inks and made a background.  It's the first time I've tried this technique, and I'm really happy with how it turned out!  I inked the pads directly onto the craft mat and then pressed wet watercolour paper onto the inks.  I used Chipped Sapphire, Weathered Wood, Broken China, and Faded Jeans.  Then I embossed it with Cuttlebug Snowflakes and added some ink splatters and then some white Fran-tage.

I was aiming for a snowy winter night, which is the theme over at Magenta this month.  I think I achieved it!  I inked up my "Magenta Cat of the Season Winter 2011 - Pearl" stamp with Staz-On Azure. This stamp is out of print now.  On a blue panel, I stamped a snowflake cluster (sorry I don't know the manufacturer) in Brilliance Moonlight White and tore the bottom edge.  I added two silver eyelets, through which I threaded and tied silver twine.  Lastly I added a number of die-cut snowflakes (Impression Obsession) in silver.
