Ducky Christmas and another 3-D Gift Tag

Hello, friends.  I have two projects to share with you today.  Please scroll down for the 3-D Gift Tag.  First up is my Ducky Christmas card.  I have a young friend who loves ducks, so as soon as I saw this month's image for the progressive challenge at DeeDee's Digis, I knew exactly who this card would be for.  The image is called Daniel's Tree and it comes with several sentiments, including the one I used.  The best part about DeeDee's progressive challenges is that when you play along each month, you get the next month's image set for free - Yay!  


I went with the pre-coloured digi this month and decided to fussy-cut and decoupage his ear-muffs, tree, beak, and wing, and lifted them with foam tape.  Daniel is so cute - I know my young friend will love this card.  For the background, I used a digi of snow and sky that I got as a freebie from Spyder's Corner (thank you, Lyn), and I added Icicle Stickles along the snow.  I included a banner die-cut with punched trees that I stamped with letters to spell "joy."  Lastly I added a little bling with a row of gems along the bottom.

Now for my 3-D gift tag.  I decided to take another stab at this.  It took a lot of fussy-cutting, and I don't think it looks that great, but I decided to enter it in the "12 Days of Christmas" challenge at Mark's Finest Papers.  I stamped the ornament a few times on red and green cardstock, fussy-cut, glued together, and added Stickles.  If you'd like to make your own 3-D gift tag, you can find a tutorial here - these can look very pretty, but I just don't think I have the hang of it yet.

    Oh my word! That duck is so sweet! Great coloring and layering! And I really like how you did the snow.

    Thanks for stopping by my blog and leaving the nice comments! :) And I love the pic of you and your kitty. Funny: your cat looks almost identical to my cat. Sometime soon I plan on making a page on my blog to show my furry family and you will see what I mean. Obviously we have great taste in furry family members!

    Awww Kitty, your duck card is adorable. 'Daniel' t pops from the gorgeous snow scene you have created and the JOY bannner is a lovely touch. I do have to smile at the lovely sentiment - just perfect for your young duck loving friend. Oh, can you just imagine her/his face when receiving this especially made card - I'm seeing pure joy.
    The 3D Christmas ornament on your tag is gorgeous. It looks as though it was a very intricate piece of crafting but wow - worth all your work. Hope it's going on a very special gift as it's so special in itself.
