Siamese Kitty with Butterflies

Hello, everyone.  Today I have made (surprise, surprise) another cat card LOL.  This time I went with a Siamese cat and an Asian garden theme.  I followed a sketch for a brand new challenge over at MFP Speedy TV called "Oriental Sketch Challenge"  (see sketch below).

This one took a bit of time - I did some good old-fashioned stamping here and even got out my Perfect Pearls to give it some lustre.  I created my own background by stamping several Asian-themed stamps in grey on turquoise cardstock, brushed on gold Perfect Pearls, stamped the sentiment in black, mounted on purple cardstock, and covered a white card base.  Next I created two panels to follow the sketch (see below) using purple cardstock, onto which I stamped an Asian cat symbol repeatedly in gold, brushed on turquoise Perfect Pearls, and affixed to the card.

I stamped the cat image in black on white cardstock, coloured with pencils, mounted on black and then gold cardstock, and affixed to the card.  Lastly, I added two glittery turquoise butterflies with buttons tied with gold twine, two gold punched butterflies accented with black gems, and four shimmery metallic turquoise flowers.   Here are the supplies used:
  • Stamps:  Cat (Coronado Island Stamps), Asian cat symbol (Paper Pleasures), Asian garden stamps (Stampin' Up - Asian Art), Double Happiness (unknown/unmarked) Sentiment (Hero Arts Everyday Sayings CL-342) see --->
  • Ink:  Versafine Onyx Black, Brilliance Galaxy Gold, Stampin' Up Going Grey
  • Pearlescent effect:  Perfect Pearls - Egyptian Gold, Caribbean Mist
  • Coloured pencils:  Prismacolor
  • Cardstock:  Stampin' Up, Recollections
  • Butterfly punch:  EK Success
  • Embellishments:  Glitter butterflies, buttons (Recollections), gold twine, metallic flowers (dollar store)
I would like to enter the following challenges:
